CHAPTER 19
"Alex health was deteriorating,even the doctors couldn't detect what was wrong with him,he was just complaining of his chest and also headache,this did not stop the court from giving out it's verdict,all Alex accomplice in the office were sentenced to 10 years imprisonment and their properties were confiscated,while Alex was sentenced to life imprisonment,the court was only waiting for him to recover so that they could take him to the prison.
Amelia went into the room where Alex was in the hospital,when she got there she looked at him straight in the eyes and started laughing" how does it feel to be in the same situation my father was ? she asked, after all the love we showed you,the only payback you could give us was to destroy our peaceful home".
"All you ever wanted was money and nothing else,if only you had asked instead of doing what you did,then all this wouldn't have happened,anyways I know you will soon be joining your dear mother-in-law in hell,just say me hy to them when you get there".
As for your son and wife I hope they don't cross my path otherwise you will be seeing them very soon,see you never Alex she said and walked out,when she got to the corridor she couldn't stop crying after all the man lying inside was the one she had vowed to spend her whole life with,the man she had given her love and her everything to.
Amelia was about leaving the hospital when someone held a knife to her throat,he commanded the police to drop their weapons as he asked the people that came with him to carry Alex out.
After carrying Alex out with Amelia as a hostage and the police following them,Fabian collected the car key from Amelia and asked them to put Alex in the car,as soon as Fabian came out,Diana rushed towards them and hugged Alex,she walked towards Amelia and slapped her hard."hurry and get inside the car,the police will soon be here Fabian said.
Diana took her son and went into the car were Alex was,once they were settled Fabian pushed Amelia towards the policemen and ordered one of his man to drive out.
The two policemen on seeing that Amelia was fine quickly ordered for a back up and started chasing them,seeing that the policemen were on their trail,Fabian ordered the driver to drive faster,as the driver was moving faster, suddenly he lost control of the brake and the car swerved from left to right,seeing that they were about to hit a truck,Diana asked Fabian to take care of her son and she pushed them out of the car.
The car ran into a parked truck and caught fire,by the time the police got there with the fire service,all the passengers had burnt beyond recognition.
Because they were fugitives on the run they were not given a burial,Amelia called Beatrice relatives she knew and asked them to come and collect their bodies and bury them as she was not their family.An investigation was carried out and it was seen that the car brakes had already been tampered with.
On further investigation it was discovered that Beatrice,Diana's mother was the one that tampered with the brake so Amelia would lose her life.
A lot of people came to console and rejoice with Amelia but she was not the same Amelia again,she left everything in the hands of the attorney and her father's trusted board members and left for the states to reunite with her son.
Fabian survived the accident but he had lost a leg while protecting Sebastian Alex's son,he took him far away to a place where no one could find them and trained him as his own son, Sebastian who was still young then promised to avenge his parents and take back what belonged to him when he grew up because he saw Amelia and her son has someone who took everything away from him as that was what Diana had always told him.
She was not happy even when she was in the states,the only consolation she had was her children,she died after giving birth to her daughter who was said to have died minutes after her mother died.
