Daisy was slapped directly by her, and the force of it even sent her to the ground.

Mrs. Defoe and Robert immediately came up to support Daisy.
Robert was so angry that he raised his hand to punch Lily in the face, but stopped short when his fist was inches away.
Lily's eyes were so dark and when she looked at him, there was a deep chill.
In those clear eyes wrapped in ice-cold, Robert suddenly saw himself dripping with blood.

Daisy fell into Mrs. Defoe's arms, thinking that now that she had gone all out and been beaten, she would be able to see Lily suffer. But she didn't get the expected harvest.
