Chapter 01

She could only feel the pain of having her body torn apart by the powerful blast. She had known the second she saw the timer on the bomb, that she would not make it out of the building in one piece, but she´d always known that it would happen eventually, but she would at least have hoped to survive for another year or two, to make sure that her soldiers would be able to handle themselves without her, but now they would just have to learn by themselves.

Shen Yue could already picture the headlines that would appear in the news tomorrow, "THE HIGHEST-RANKING GENERAL DEAD", it was quite funny if you think about it, the only soldier who has ever achieved the rank five-star general is a woman and nobody knows about it, except for her parents. That is because she had been raised as a boy and even on her birth certificate she was labeled as a boy. Her parent had done that to make sure that her father's brothers and sister wouldn´t treat her badly as they thought that a kid was useless if it wasn´t a boy, her mom and dad thought differently but still raised her as a boy to keep her safe in case anything happened to them.

Her parent's predicament came true a few months after her fifth birthday, both her mom and dad were killed by a drunk truck driver while they were on their way to pick her up from her martial arts practice.

Everyone in her family blamed her for her parent's deaths because if she wouldn't have had practice that day her parents would have still been alive. But she knew that wasn't true as her parents had told her multiple times that many people wanted their lives and that they knew that those people would one day succeed with taking their lives.

Her dad had a high position in the military while her mother was classified as a genius in every area except for athletics like her dad. Both were important to their country and helped to win many battles which were why they made so many enemies over the years, but they always said that they never regrated what they had done in service of their country as it was on a mission that they met each other and fell in love.

Shen Yue was pulled from her memories by a powerful force tugging her towards a bright light when she opened her eyes again, she heard a shrill voice screaming "SHEN YUE! you wretched girl, don't pretend to be dead just to get out of this situation!" all she could do was stare at the unfamiliar woman and with a cold tone she asked, "Who are you?"
