Chapter 2: A New Beginning

Evelyn got out of bed and walked around the room. Everything looked exactly as she remembered it. She was really back. Evelyn looked at her pale complexion in the mirror and laughed coldly in her heart. Now that she knew she was poisoned, she still had enough time to remove the toxins before it was too late.

Evelyn cleaned herself up before grabbing her backpack and stepping out of the room. The sun was shining brightly outside, but Evelyn's mood was dark. In her previous life, Evelyn had coincidentally become acquainted with a an eccentric doctor. In the past, she would have never thought about contacting him, but now, she needed his help to get rid of the poison. Evelyn's memory had always been good, and she often memorized people's phone numbers instead of saving them in her contacts. Evelyn walked to a secluded area and pulled out her phone to dial the doctor's number.

Ring ring. The phone rang for quite a long time. Just as Evelyn was about to hang up, someone answered. "Hello?" an old male voice said gruffly.

"Hello, Dr. Song? My name is Evelyn Kim, and I would like to make a deal with you."

"How did you get this number?" Dr. Song answered sharply. Evelyn had called his private number which few people knew about.

"That's difficult to explain...anyway will you help me?"

"Why should I help you? I'm a doctor not a saint."

"Please. This a matter concerning life or death," Evelyn pleaded. Evelyn was proud but she wasn't arrogant. She knew that his help was worth letting go of her pride.

There was a long pause on the other end. "Alright," Dr. Song finally agreed. "What do you need me to do?"

"I need you to cure a poison," Evelyn said directly.

"...that may be difficult," Dr. Song replied. "What poison is it?"

Evelyn wrinkled her brows. She wasn't sure which poison she was afflicted with. "I don't know."

"Huh." Evelyn heard Dr. Song let out a deep breath. "Bring the patient to me next week for a diagnosis," Dr. Song said reluctantly. "I will examine them and prescribe an antidote."

"Thank you so much, Dr. Song," Evelyn said relieved. "I will come see you next week." Evelyn hung up the phone and smiled coldly. Once she was cured, she would begin to put her plan in action. She was going to make the lives of those her hurt her a living hell.
