Reinhardt, in his past life, he was a student who was brutally murdered. However, he had been reborn as the Knight of The Villainess from a Novel he had once read. In his last life, he didn't accomplish anything, in fact, the most notable thing he had ever done was killing his murder. But now, he had another chance. And this time, he was going to survive no matter what. Armed with the Heart of a God and knowledge from the novel he had once read, he would make sure to survive, and trample over anyone who sought to take what was his. *** I dont own the cover art, just smt I found on Pinterest I think. Let me know if you're the owner and want it down. This is my second novel, so you can expect an above average quality of writing. There will be romance but it'll be gradual, and he won't be dense or anything since that would be annoying. The MC might be a tad bit insane at times, and he won't be OP immediately. But he won't be losing too often. Anyways, enjoy! And check out my other novel, The Child Soldier's Reincarnation if you like my style of writing. Upload schedule: As of now, daily but I'll take a one day break whenever I need it.

Chapter 63 - Heresy Inquistor [1]

The next morning, the entire school found out about a second year who was very nearly killed in combat. At first, the entire student body was in outrage, questioning how it was possible for something like this to happen on campus.

The main concern was the campus's security, for some reason, they didn't even consider the fact that a student could've done this. Instead, they assumed it was an intruder or a Mana Beast. Granted, the attack had been vicious and far too full of malice for something people of our age would ordinarily be capable of.

'Though, I assume people will be less worried when get word gets out that the kid was a contractee. Now, I wonder how long it'll take for the old man to realise that this situation has something to do with Demon's.'

As everyone was fairly worried, all students of all years had been given the day off.

And so, I set off for the training grounds, when I arrived, I saw a man wearing an all black cloak, on his face was a plain white mask that didn't have an eye hole or anything that would give away what he truly looked like. The man was walking with principle, his footsteps didn't make a single sound.

He barely had a presence, had I not been directly looking at him, I would've thought he didn't even exist. Even with my enhanced senses, I couldn't even hear his breath, his soundless steps left no trace of his existence.

Even the dust on the floor wasn't dispersed by his movements.

The person there was none other than a Heresy Inquisitor. A group of people who exist solely for the purpose of vanquishing Demons, Contractees and those who follow them.

"So, Principal, after talking to your second year I've determined that he's a contractee. He won't say who, or what put him in such a sorry state. All I know is that whatever fought him has a very clear disdain for Demon's or contractees. It never went for the kill, and instead severed his limbs. What's even more interesting is that whatever fought the boy wanted to the corpse to be found."

The principal stroked his chin, in thought.

"I see. Report to me once you're done, Inquisitor. Ordinarily, I would be enraged. But, the only thing that died was a mutt that sold their soul. So, I couldn't care less as to what happens. But, I want you to find out if there's anyone related to this, it might be helpful in weeding out ant potential... vermin."

The principals voice was cold, as if he didn't view contractees as living creatures.

"Another thing, Principal. Whatever fought the contractee lacks experience and finesse. It overwhelmed the traitor with pure, unbridled strength. Are there any students who fight like that?"

The principal glanced in my direction, having noticed me, he opened his mouth to speak but closed it. And instead, shook his head.

"I'm a principal. I don't keep track of every student here."

The Heresy Inquisitor shrugged their shoulders, before looking at me. I ignored them, and willed my cloak of darkness to appear, and then I drew my greatsword.

I blinked, opening my eyes I saw the Heresy Inquisitor infront of me, their hand on my shoulder.

"Principal, are all your students this big?"

I instinctively jumped back, but the Inquisitor followed, each movement they made was silent and hard to follow.

'Blood Strength, Arcane Enhancement...'

Activating these Enhancements, I prepared for combat.

'Why does everything I do lead to a damn fight? I'm getting tired of this already. And... this one's a bit of a ridiculous opponent.'

Heresy Inquisitors specialised in one on one combat, assassination and the gathering of intelligence. When it came to Demon's and Contractees, they showed neither restraint nor mercy. And, they were well within their rights to start attacking people who they thought had some relation to Demon's.

The Inquisitor threw a punch, I blocked it but even so I felt a great deal of pain, the power behind the attack really was insane. I was sent flying into a wall, causing a crater to form on the wall.

"While the principal might not know how everyone fights, I did a little bit of homework, Reinhardt. And frankly, I think you're more than capable of killing someone of that contractee's level."

Spitting out the blood in mouth I spoke.

"I didn't do anything.."

The Inquisitor shrugged their shoulders.

"If you say so... Anyways where's that princess you serve? She's one of the other suspects."

And so, I pointed my blade at the Inquisitor.

"It was me. I killed that second year."

'Frankly, I'm not sure I want Inquisitors talking to Charlotte. It wouldn't be a good look on the Princess if she was taken in by an Inquisitor for suspected murder. And I'd feel bad, since it'd be my fault.'
