Chapter 46 - Venture to Ebonland Part 1

(At the academy: 8:00AM)

"Mhm... Master isn't really going to come huh... I'm worried..."

"Yeah. Knowing that guy, he's probably up to something again. Sigh, he's a workaholic one isn't he"

"..."

Luna, Lily, and Seia can't help but be worried sick to Sai's absence in today's class. Just about last night that Sai received an almost fatal wound with his fight against that guy in suspicious cloak, and now he just declared that he needs to do something important... who wouldn't get worried about that? is what the three think.

"Although stubborn, Sai really is honest huh" Seia spoke. "Most of us will probably lie about it but I guess Sai reminded us so that we'll at least know what's up"

"I guess it's his way of saying so that we won't get worried much..." Lily replied. "But did he think it's enough for us to not feel this way..."

"Calm down girls, your thoughts are coming out" Astra said, who just got into the room. "Hm? Are you three missing something? Where's Sai?"

"We we're just talking about that. You see—"

"Everyone! please go back into your seats. The class is about to start"

While in the middle of her words, Lily was forced to halt his speech when Miss Sherry who just entered the classroom announce the start of class. Beside Miss Sherry follows Sora and a student whom they never saw before coming third in the front of the class.

"But before that, I also have some announcement. This girl will be your classmate from now on. Please take good care of her"

Luna, Lily, Seia, and Astra looked at each other in bewilderment. Even without Sai telling, these girls know that there's also a weird person beside Sai. If we compare the two, Sai starts and creates his own problem. This guy on the other hand, are always gets involved in one.

"Sora... Seriously this guy needs to mind his own business..." Astra said in disbelief.

~~~~~~ (Sai Crimsonheart POV) ~~~~~~

"Grappling check... Smoke Grenade check... Bomb check... Healing Potion check... Good!"

I am currently at the storage room somewhere at the academy preparing for my next destination I'm planning on going right now. The places where I'm currently headed to can be reached by entering this school's 『Otherworld Portal』. I was planning on going to another city's portal but that would be efficient and too dangerous.

After I'm done double checking my tools and equipment I quickly head towards the 『Otherworld Portal』 located at the center of the academy.

I wore the cleaned 『Demi-Armor』 under my clothes with the 『Sword of Imbalance』 strapped at my waist. With my setup, I casually enter the portal in order not to get suspicious to the guards keeping an eye on the portal.

The thing is, few adventurers come to this place so they can use the portal. Everyone can actually use the portal as the portal being here was just a coincidence and was never in the possession of the academy.

Just as I expected, the guards just ignored me. Now for my location...

I touched the side of the portal and channeled some mana into it. After a while, the portal who was ashes white before had turned into red. I then entered the portal when I saw that the change has been finished.

As if I'm in the underwater for a second, dizziness starts to attack me. It was caused by the portal transporting me to another location so when I was transported successfully, the dizziness also started to disappear slowly.

The sight of the academy whom I am seeing before had changed into a gloomy red barren land. There I can see the bloody moon that render this place color red. There are also some ruins not so far from here and some bloody monster that roams the place.

『Ebonland』 is what this place is called. And today I'm here to get someone that will be necessary in my exploration in the future.

Just like I planned, I firstly went into the large hills with a large cavity on it. While on the way there, various type monsters approached me with a killing intent as their way of welcoming me.

There are 3 of them about to attack me. One is called, 『Blood Centipede』, a large floating centipede with its body dyed red. It was about 4 feet long and has a red fang which they used to attack someone. The rest are called 『Rotten Undead』, they're just zombie but red. Though unlike a normal 『Undead』, this one is 2x stronger.

Since the 『Blood Centipede』 is faster than the 『Rotten Undead』, I tried to separate them so that I can take the 『Blood Centipede』 alone. These monsters don't think and just attack whatever they want so when the 『Blood Centipede』 tried to attack me with its fang, I step back a little to not get hit by its fang and attack it with an added wave projectile produced by the sword.

"Khh!!" The 『Blood Centipede』 was cut in half and dies.

"Next"

For the incoming 『Rotten Undead』, since they were slow, I just showered them with countless wave slash while keeping myself on a safe distance.

"Man, this sword sure is a monster" I mused.

After a one-sided fight, I head down to the cavity of the hill which similarly, had a large chamber like in those of the 『Ghost White Tundra』.

I used the 『Musket』 I have in my 『Magic Pouch』 and shoots the monsters on the ground until no one was left. After a successful annihilation, I grapple myself until I finally reached the ground.

"Here it is..."

When I light my way through the underground, an unimaginable number of red ores on the walls and ground called 『Callous Ore』 started to show its grim texture into me. Counterpart to the 『Clement Ore』 of the 『Tundra』, this 『Callous Ore』 is the 『Ore』 of the 『Ebonland』. Supposedly, it is unnecessary to mine it now as my gear is currently strongest at the moment but here's the fun part of this game.

There are swords that can be fused together in order to create a strong weapon like any other do and this 『Ore』 is one of the recipes to do it. by combining the four swords I have in my arsenal right now, I can make the strongest sword in the game, which is the other fun part that can be upgraded again in the future.

Nonetheless, I took my 『Beaver Shark』 and starts to mine everything I can see. With the help of my grappling hook, it didn't take me long to mine even the highest part of the cavern.

"Man, what a haul..."

After mining everything the eyes can see, I left the caverns and went back to the surface. Mining the ores in this place is just a side part of my reason of coming here, you see?

Somewhere in this gloomy place lies a ruin not very far from here. In the game, it's just a random structure you can find in the 『Ebonland』 for it to not look very boring and lackluster, but this world is a mixture of every MOD in the game you see? so, there actually lies an item I am currently looking for which will be helpful for me in the future.

With everything prepared including myself, I steeled my resolve and head towards to that ruined place.

Finally reaching the entrance of the ruin, I was left mesmerized to the view of the ruined place in front of me. Although looks sad and gloomy, it emanates a beautiful sight that will give you mixed feelings. Nonetheless I hoped to appreciate it more if not for the upcoming monsters welcoming me as their guess.

"Sigh... what a bother..." I mused.

After annihilating the monsters, I entered the place and went inside the place that seemed like a ruined cathedral. The blood moon radiates its light at the gloomy place gives me an eyesore as I can only see red in every part of the place. After a bit of exploring, something came into my mind.

"Weird, it doesn't look like the place like it was in the game...."

The first thing I noticed is that this cathedral is time larger than in the game. It was supposed to not look this huge and there should already be the item I was looking for...

When I finally reached the center of the cathedral, a red like thick barrier covered the cathedral leaving me locked in place in the process.

"Wh-what the?!"

This is weird. There's no such implementation like this in the game.

Expecting for the worst, I readied my hands near my sword in pure vigilance. After a moment, a hoard of monsters starts to spawn in a magic circle over the place heading towards me.

10... 20... 40... Shit they're just keep coming and coming. Countless 『Rotten Undead』, 『Blood Centipede』, and 『Bloodslime』 came after me. I swung my sword rapidly unleashing a number of wave projectile to the enemy to fend it. Thanks to the high damage output of this sword that everyone it passes through died immediately, leaving a pile of countless corpse in the process.

I guess it was too overwhelming for them. I'm really thankful I went to this place with this gear equipped. If I was too full of myself and head here early, who knows what happens then.

Hm? [Flesh?] heh... this is a surprise. The monsters also dropped their materials... I thought since they were just spawned by a magic circle that they won't drop anything. I guess I'll just take all of the pile of item drop then.

After a while, the magic circle finally stops spawning monsters thus ending it. I breathe out a sigh of relief in response to such occurrence. Or so I thought.

Just was about to let my guard down, a different magic circle starts to appear at the center of the cathedral.

"Is this... a portal?"

Judging by its appearance, I guess it's a portal to teleport me to the next level? Interesting.

Without any further ado, I stepped on the red magic circle, teleporting me to the second floor of the cathedral. I think.

"I don't think a cathedral have any floors though..." I mused in bewilderment.

Well, I guess it is what it is then. I hopped into the center of the place in expectation. And to my guess, Another magic circle appeared all over the place. This time, it was many than before.

"Khh! is this a trial?! Just how many floors do I need to clear to find that Item here"

Well, good for me. It would be boring if I became the strongest without much of a challenge isn't it.

I run on the edge and did a roundabout while evading all the monsters coming from me. After a moment, the monsters started to clump together.

"Eat this MOFO!"

I threw a bunch of 『Grenade』 to the clumped monster in the center. The ecstasy I feel as I saw the group of monsters explode is the best feeling I've ever felt. Man, I'm unstoppable right now.

It didn't took long until the magic circle stops spawning more monsters. Since there are only a few monsters left, I just showered them with a wave slash from my sword since it'll be efficient that way.

"Yoshi, Next!"

When the portal to the next floor finally appeared, I immediately step on it without hesitation, teleporting me to the highest part of the cathedral.

"Hm... might be the last. Got to stay cautious though" I mused.

This time is a little different, when I was teleported here, there are already monster spawned here. But...

"Weird, they're few..."

Then, there must be something up. Maybe a surprise perhaps?

After pondering, I just annihilate every monsters I see. I didn't really need to move much since I can just attack them with projectile coming from my sword.

In the end, I ended pretty easily. Though, I feel something was not right. My instinct is saying that something big is coming.

"Khhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!"

"!!"

While pondering, a 10 magic circles appeared all over the place. This time, it was times larger than anything that appeared before the trial.

"Y-you can't be serious..."

I was dumbfounded to what I am about to fight. Same number as the large magic circles that appeared in the ground, a 10 『Real Abomination』 started to emerge from that same spot at magic circles.

My eyes are widened in awe in response to such terror befalling to me. This was never implemented in the game after all.

"Here it comes!"

With full vigor, the 10 『Real Abomination』 went in a state of frenzy and started to rampage towards me as if being chased by a bull. In response, I hastily grapple myself in one of the pillars of the cathedral, leaving the bunch of 『Real Abominations』 behind.

"This is madness....." I spoke in disbelief.
