Chapter 99 - Each to Their Own Mission
-
After some earnest discourse, we didn't waste any time and went immediately for the work. I was feeling quite concerned that I feel like I'm rushing them but no, it seems like they were really eager and was fully motivated when I asked them so It's going great, I guess. It seemed like the unknown event that they were about to experience had ignited their curiosity, hence the motivation.
Anyways, just like how we discussed, I will be separating the task into three groups. Group A will be composed by two members: Seia and Luna. They will proceed and go to a place called the 『Twilight Undersea』 which is located underneath the crater where we fought Vaconawa. That crater settled by a Serpent has a certain biome underneath it. I had the two of them go in tandem since that place is where they will get the Materials they needed for themselves.
"This is the place, right?" Luna asked, holding a blue torch.
"According to Sai then yes." Seia replied. "Shall we proceed then?"
After some digging underneath the lake, Luna and Seia were faced by a surreal beauty of the underground—or should I say, an underwater cavern.
Despite being underneath, the place was dimly illuminated in faint light. Looking at it carefully, it was certainly caused by the crystal underneath the water. Regardless, the place was beaming with aquatic life, it was remarkably beautiful.
With both nodding in agreement, the two had once again plunge into the water. You might be in confusion but actually, the crater at the surface in a body of water and the Undersea was a separate biome. Meaning, or for some unknown reason, the water of the lake doesn't fall down. As if, there was an invisible barrier that blocks the water from going in.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?" Luna praised in awe, swimming, holding her torch that doesn't seem to get extinguished. "I wish everyone should have seen it."
"Maybe later? Who knows, we might miss something and could be a reason for us to visit this place later." Seia replied, following behind. "But really, us being able to talk underwater felt so unreal."
Of course, I wouldn't let the two of them proceed to such dangerous place without taking some precautions. Their journey beyond their destination was all going to be swimming around so I gave them a two variety of Potions: [Diver's Potion] and [Water Breathing Potion]. Upon drinking, [Diver's Potion] will grant the user to swim swiftly and move freely from the water. That way, they won't have any problems if an ordeal came suddenly. As for the [Water Breathing Potion], I don't need to describe it, do I?
"Right? Hehe~" Luna replied, but abruptly raised her eyebrow when she saw something beyond them. "That's... it must be that thing, right?"
Seia nodded. "There's no mistaking it, let's go."

[Seia POV]
Upon seeing the structure just like Sai described, both of us took our Pickaxes and swam around the large navy colored boulder sitting at the center of a large space area. It's heavy, right? How is it floating, though? I wonder. Anyways, after mining the surface of the boulder, a turquoise colored crystal ore showed inside it.
"It must be the 『Twilight Shard』 Sai was talking about." I informed. "We should get as many as possible with this. Let's go, Luna."
"Yeah." Both of us then mined everything we see, not wasting anything behind. I had thought it would be a pain to mine under the water but thanks to Sai's brewed Potion, we were working in ease. Just how did Sai manage to make those things? Truly a mystery.
After mining all the contents of the boulder, we went from one after another, clearing everything just like we did on that boulder earlier. It took us only an hour to haul everything.
"Looks like we mined to many." Luna informed. "It went really easy than I expected..."
"Me too." I replied. It's just as Sai said, the monsters were passive and doesn't attack us unless we provoked them, so we work continuously without worrying about anything.
"We should be done by this, right?" Luna said. "After this and we'll farm a turtle monster with some crystals on its shell until it drops something then we'll follow with Master after."
"Yeah. It should be enough by now." I replied. I still want to wander around this place, but it can't be helped. I was expecting some kind of an exciting event, but it looks like there's nothing to get excited with.
The place was beautiful, alright. But overall, the excitement...was kind of disappointing.
* * *
"Yes!" Luna shouted in delight. "Seia! Seia! It finally dropped!"
After roaming around, killing all the Turtle with crystals on their shell, it finally dropped something after the 9th Kill. It was a broadsword—a Scimitar of some sort, with an azure colored blade. It was certainly beautiful indeed. And if it's Sai's recommendation, then it must be strong also.
"Good for you, Luna." I congratulate.
"Hehe, thank you." Luna replied, beaming in delight. "Shall we leave then? We got everything Sai had asked for us so..."
"Y-Yeah. You're right." I nodded. Nothing came in an excitement. I guess we can't really do something about it, huh. "You should lead the way. I'll follow you behi—"
Boom! Suddenly, something had fall from the water. The two of us immediately took out our weapon in wary. We didn't catch what falls on the ground as it was covered by the sand thanks from the impact. All we know is that...it's large.
"—?! Seia! That's...!"
"I know."
Once the sand had cleared, we finally saw what fell on the ground just earlier. Probably thrice the size of a carriage, a very huge Blue Turtle with crystals on its shell has made its entrance.
"An Elder Crystal Turtle?! We should get out of here, Seia. Master said that monster is too much of our capability right now." Luna hastily informed, then took my hands to retreat. But to her surprise, I wasn't bulging. "—?! Seia?"
"Hey, Luna." I spoke. "That turtle...look strong, right? Do you think we can beat it?"
"Huh?!" Luna shouted in bewilderment. "Did you just heard what I... We can't...! Master said it's too dangerous for us."
"Heh? Is that so?" I removed my hands into Luna's grip. Dangerous? We've been walking a very dangerous path for a long time now. You say it's dangerous but If I'm always going to flee because of that reason, then when will I start! "Go back if you want. I will fight this guy alone."
"...Seia—"
Bang! Bang! Bang! I began firing the turtle while Luna still in between her words. Upon receiving the damage, the Turtle swam and plunge, coming in quite a hasty approach.
"Hehe, come!" I shouted.
"Ehhhhh?!?!?!"

[Lily Helianthus POV]
Breathing a sigh, I was back once again from the Jungle—the place Sai had assigned me into. Right now, we are currently located to a very large cavern where Sai fought against the Dryad. We, the group B is composed of three members: Me, Akari, and lastly, my mother...
"Well, well, this place sure is very dangerous, indeed." My mother—Rina Helianthus said. "The fact that Sai had invited me to help you today... Our enemy must be really strong, isn't it?"
"Yes." Akari replied. I was supposed to be the one to answer mother, but okay. "Aruji-sama said that our enemy was not something to joke around with."
I nodded. As you can see, our members were all comprised of Ranger Class. According to Sai, fighting that Boss in melee is considered as a suicide, hence, assigning us three, people specialized in range combat, against this monster.
"Mou... Lily, as your mother, Sai assigning you in such a very dangerous mission... I'm very upset, you know?"
"I-Is that so...?" I cringed. W-What even is that... I'm so glad Akari is the only witness here. "T-then, if everyone is ready, I'll go and summon it, okay?"
"Yeah," suddenly, my mother's voice had turned stern. "You can start whenever you want. Be careful, Lily."
"Yes, mother." With a nod, I took something out of my Pouch. A ball the size of an apple, mix of black and white, like a Yin yang ball if I were to describe it. It really was a weird item. Throwing this should summon "that", right?
Akari and Mother both readied themselves, along with their weapons in hand. Confirming their situation, I threw the item as far as I could. The moment that Yin yang ball had received an impact, a terrifying roar reverberates from the surroundings.
Two separate beings emerged in front of us—a shadow, in a form of a Samurai, one is black, and the latter is white. Moreover, the pressure they're emitting... I see. No wonder Sai assigned us in this mission.
"Get ready, everyone!" I commanded, readying my 『Bane Arbalest』. "I have all their patterns memorized. Follow my lead!"
『Paired Virtuoso, the "Demi-Twins" has awoken』

[Sai Crimsonheart POV]
Ang lastly, is us, the Group C, comprised of three members: Me, Astra, and Lemuen. Compared to the other two groups whose mission is to collect certain materials for their Weapons, ours were kind of different? Not really, to be honest...
"Hehe, I'm kind of getting excited." Astra enthusiastically said. "I can't wait to see how strong I've become!"
"Good! I'm liking your energy." I replied, grinning. "And don't worry, you're in for some complete action. Though, given the strength of the monsters were about to face... I suggest you not to waste to much of your energy."
"Really?! Hearing you say that makes me get pumped-up more!"
"Hahaha..."
Man, Astra looking excited as ever. I'm really glad for her. As for Lemuen, it looks like she still not used to Astra's bundle of energy yet. Nonetheless, this would be our first adventure together, I hope I get along with these two after this.
Anyways, we're here to farm some very important materials, and finally, to increase our Mana on a whole another level permanently. That's right. It's time to make ourselves stronger than ever.
"You guys ready?" I warned. "I don't know how many hours it will take us, but I'll remind you this: It's us versus an army."
"An army, you say...?" Lemuen gulped.
"Good!" Astra replied. "Keep them coming for me."
As soon as I reminded them, and we continued from our walk. But the moment we took a step, the place, along with the sky had turned black. Briefly, also came a sea of majestic stars that came on the horizon, vast and beyond number. Were finally here.
Thus, came my first step on this heck of a biome—the 『Superficial Cosmos』.
