2 I'm a maid ?

When I woke up I found myself on the floor in a bedroom. The room was in pretty good condition but it was strange that there were only objects that looked like they were from the middle ages.

There was a wooden bed with a canopy and a quilt, a fireplace with a metal pot and a kettle, a dresser with a mirror and a comb, a closet with some clothes and a cloak, and a window with a view of a forest and a castle.

There was no electricity, no phone, no TV, no computer, no nothing. What the heck was I doing here, and why did I have such a headache?

I tried to remember what had happened, but I couldn't. The last thing I recalled was being hit by a car, and then everything went black. I thought I was dead, but apparently I wasn't.

I was alive, but I was somewhere else. Somewhere far away, and somewhere long ago. I had no idea how I got here, or why I was here. Was this a dream, or a nightmare.

Then the bedroom door opened revealing a woman in her forties with grey and green hair and an angry look on her face. She was wearing a long dress with a corset and a apron, and she had a broom in her hand. She looked like a maid.

"Wake up, Leora, we've got a lot of work to do," she said, opening the curtains to let in the blinding sunlight.

"Go and take a shower, I warned you not to drink so much last night." said the maid, looking me up and down. She sounded annoyed.

"What's with the lost look on your face, hurry up and get ready" she shouted at me, then I headed for the bathroom quickly. I didn't want to argue, or to explain, or to ask.

I don't understand what's going on, wasn't I supposed to be dead and then where am I and what's with this lady's style, it was really much too much for me. I took a quick shower and then took the time to look at myself in the mirror.

The bathroom was small and simple, with a tub and a sink, and a bucket and a towel. There was no shower, no faucet, no soap, no shampoo. I had to use cold water from the bucket, and a rag from the towel, and a pinch of salt from the pot.

I looked exactly the same as before, with red hair that looked just as hard to style and just as tanned, the only difference being that my eyes had turned purple. My hair was still curly and frizzy, and it still never stayed in place.

My eyes were still big and round, but they were no longer brown. They were purple, like a flower.

"Hurry up!" shouted the woman and I hurried out of the bathroom. I put on some clothes that the maid had left for me.

The clothes were old and worn, and they didn't fit me well. They were made of wool and linen, and they were rough and itchy. They were brown and gray, dull and boring. They were nothing like the clothes I used to wear, and they were nothing like me.

Once we were out of the room, the woman walked quickly and I tried to follow her. She didn't say a word, and she didn't look back. She seemed to know where she was going, and she didn't care if I got lost.

I looked around as we walked. We were in a castle, but it couldn't have been that big. It was old and dusty, and it smelled like mold and smoke. The walls were made of stone, and the floors were made of wood.

The ceilings were high and arched, and the windows were small and barred. The doors were heavy and locked, and the keys were hanging from the woman's belt.

I turned my head from right to left to see the environment and there were things you only see in anime or video games. There were knights in armour and swords.

I was astonished to see elves and dragons in the same uniform as me designing that they were servants too. This is so cool.

It looked like I was in a fantasy world, like in the video games my brother used to play. But this was not a game, this was real. And I had no idea what I was doing here, or how I could get out.

"Stop day dreaming, I know it's your first day as a servant but try to concentrate," the woman shouted at me, snapping me out of my brooding.

"What are we going to do?" I asked her, hoping to get some answers. I saw the woman rolling her eyes at me. She looked annoyed and exasperated.

"First of all, my name is Mrs Flinch and I'm your superior so I don't work with you," she said, correcting me. "You work for me. And you better do what I say, or you'll be sorry."

She sighed in despair before continuing. "Today you have to change the sheets in all the rooms except those of the servants. That's your job, and that's what you're paid for. And don't you dare complain, or slack off, or make a mess. You have to be fast, and careful, and quiet. Do you understand?"

She didn't wait for my answer. She stopped in front of a room that looked gigantic. It had a huge door with a golden knob, and a sign that said 'Master's Chamber'. It looked like the most important and luxurious room in the castle.

"Good luck," said Mrs Flinch before leaving. She gave me a key and a basket, and she walked away. She left me alone, in front of the door, with a feeling of dread.

I opened the door and entered the master's chamber. It was the most beautiful and spacious room I had ever seen. It had a king-sized bed with silk sheets and velvet pillows, a fireplace with a roaring fire and a cozy sofa, a dresser with a mirror and a jewelry box, a closet with a lot of clothes and a fur coat, and a window with a view of the garden and the lake.

It looked like the perfect place to relax and enjoy life. But I had no time for that. I had to change the sheets, and I had to do it fast. I dropped the basket on the floor and grabbed the dirty sheets from the bed.

I threw them in the basket and took out the clean ones. I spread them on the bed and tucked them under the mattress. I fluffed the pillows and arranged them on the bed. I did it all in a matter of minutes, and I did it well.

I was shocked by how quickly and skillfully I had done it, this body was not like the one I had before. I had never changed sheets that size before, and I had no idea how to do it. But somehow, I had done it like a pro.

It was like I had a hidden talent for changing sheets, or like I had done it a thousand times before and I wondered what else I could do.

But I had no time to try. I had to finish my work, and I had to do it fast. I grabbed the basket and left the room. I locked the door and moved on to the next one. I repeated the same process, over and over again. I changed the sheets in every room, except those of the servants. I did it fast, and I did it well.

I finished my work in a couple of hours, and I felt proud and exhausted. I had done a good job, and I had done it fast.

"Now that I've finished, it's time to get some sleep," I say as I stretch.

I seem to have remembered the way to my room. After a few minutes I finally arrived and threw myself onto the bed. Then the door of my room oppened brutaly. I saw Mrs Flinch, and I felt surprised. She looked angry .

"Leora, Leora, Leora. How many times do I have to tell you? You are not done, you have more work to do. And you better do it fast."

She grabbed my arm and dragged me along the hallway. She pointed at a door.

"This is the laundry room. Go inside and do the washing. I'll be back in a few minutes to check on you. And don't you dare try to escape or going to your room."

She pushed me inside the room and slammed the door behind me.

"I hate being a servant" I shouted at the top of my lungs.
