41 Next Hokage Discussion

Finally we returned to the leaf village. Then we entered the Hokage's office where Hiruzen, Tsunade, Jiraya, Minato and Sakumo were present. The three of us Kakashi, Rin and Me entered inside. Everyone was happy to see us unharmed. I smiled at everyone and spoke "Hokage there are some matters we need to speak in private. So send the Anbus out." Hiruzen nodded and gestured for the anbus to leave "Ryu, they are gone. Now you can tell us". I shook my head "Hokage, don't you have any control on Root anbus?" Hiruzen frowned. He really didn't have any control over them.

He lied "I'm the Hokage Ryu. I also control them." I smiled at him "Then why didn't the Root anbus leave after you have commanded all the anbus to leave?" Everyone looked at me. Hiruzen asked "what are you talking about?" I then disappeared, broke the roof and appeared back with two root anbus in my hand unconscious. Then looking at Hiruzen I said "Sad isn't it Hokage? You are the Hokage just for name while the important decisions are made by your friends. What's the use of you being the Hokage? My grand uncle Tobirama made a wrong judgement by sacrificing himself for your team. He must have left and saved himself. So that the village would have had a more competent leader".

Hiruzen closed his eyes dragging smoke from his pipe. Everyone else also didn't interrupt as what I said was the whole truth. After contemplating for a while, Hiruzen spoke. "Ryu, your words are right. I cared for my friends much more than my family. That's why I left them to do what they want and appointed them as the council. It was my mistake and as it has come to this, I've planned on retiring and give the position of Hokage to someone competent. Jiraya, Tsunade, Minato and Sakumo are my choices. I hope one of you become the Hokage and lead the village better than me."

At this time Jiraya spoke "Ryu, what was it that you wanted to speak?" I looked at Jiraya "Ohh, Uncle Jiraya, we almost deviated from the topic. Ok it's like this..." And I explained all that happened excluding the details of sand village and Pakura being the Kazekage. Minato then asked "So Rin is the three tailed Jinchuriki now?" I nodded "Yes Minato. Now we have two tailed beasts like Kumo. As the mist delivered their tailed beast to us on their own, there is nothing they can do about it". Everyone nodded and I continued "Everyone, this has to be a secret that Rin is now a Jinchuriki. Minato, let her stay with Kushina and train in controlling the three tails. If both of them are together, it will be hard to notice two tailed beasts." Minato nodded.

Jiraya then spoke "Fine. What do we do about Root then?" I once again stood up "Can I tell my opinion on the maters? What I do is of the best interest for the village and I don't want any internal conflict to happen. And it's just my suggestion. You can take it or leave it". Hiruzen nodded and I continued "Root is needed for the safety of the village and there are already many spies of Root in different villages and all of them are loyal to only Danzo. So we will appoint Sakumo san as an head of Root above Danzo and slowly he will take over Root."

Jiraya clapped his hands and said "Nice suggestion. It will work out without any issues. And Ryu, who do you think is suitable for the next Hokage? I don't want to be one so don't choose me." I smiled and said "I actually didn't have you in mind uncle Jiraya. You are a pervert and will create open baths near the Hokage's office if given the power". Everyone started laughing. Then I continued "According to me, the best candidates for the Hokage are my mother Tsunade and Minato. They are both strong. If Minato becomes the Hokage, the village will return to be peaceful and if Tsunade becomes the Hokage, there will be less mortality rates in the village as each team will require to have a Medical ninja".

Hiruzen frowned "It's not that we didn't talk about it. But we don't have the funds required for it. That's why the plan was dropped." I looked at him "Sure whatever you say Hokage. It's not like the medical ninja cannot do any other ninjutsu or fight. Your training regiment and team assignment is totally wrong. That's the only reason the S rank shinobis of our village are countable using fingers. You guys didn't even figure out that Might Dai was as strong as a Kage and named him Genin all these years."

Sakumo asked this time "How would you do it?" I replied "It's like this... In the academy, we will extend the terms and add the classes for medical ninjutsu training and all students will have to learn to walk on water to graduate instead of performing that useless clone jutsu and dying off somewhere in their first mission. The teams will consist of one short range fighter good in Taijutsu, a mid range ninjutsu user and a long range Medical ninja and also a tracker or genjutsu user who are suited for long range attacks. The academy will have different stages 1st year to 5th year. And the teachers will be chunin to Retired Jonin in the later stages and also medical ninjas".

Everyone nodded but Minato spoke "Ryu, what you said is good and all, but it is not easy to do." I nodded "I know how difficult it is Minato. First we need to recover from the war. Then we will plan everything slowly. By the time, we will have many S rank shinobies. And we will be the strongest village. We also need to bring different clans together like akemichi, nara and yamanaka clans. This matter we will discuss later". Everyone started contemplating and Jiraya said "Why don't you become the Hokage Ryu?" I just laughed and said "I'm too young and also have a lot of good things to do than sitting behind a desk in my young age".

Everyone laughed and Minato said "As much as I would like to become Hokage, it is better I dB Tsunade Sama becomes the Hokage. I will take my chances after she retires. Tsunade shook her head and was about to speak, but I interrupted her "That's right mom. You become the Hokage for like 5 to 10years and clear out the root and start the other projects and Minato will take over once you think it's enough". Tsunade started "But... Ryu..." I looked at her smiling and said "Please.. for the sake of the village and for great grandfather". She started contemplating and finally nodded "Fine. I'll become the Hokage for 5 years at most."

Looking at Hiruzen I continued "Hokage, discuss the matter with your beloved council and the other clan heads and appoint mother as the Hokage. Danzo will choose Orochimaru as a candidate, but you know what to do. Just force them or dismiss them. After Tsunade becomes Hokage, dirst thing will be appoint Sakumo san as head of Root operations. Do all this if you really want the village to prosper." Hiruzen nodded "Fine. I'll do all I can. That's the best I can do to repent on my mistakes". Everyone agreed with the arrangements and We left the Hokage's office. Hiruzen looked out of the window smoking his pipe and thought 'Ryu, that kid is going to bring great changes to the world one day just like the first Hokage.'
