23 Tales From The Titanomachy...(Part Two)

Unknown Author(Modern Times) POV

In the absence of The Big Three, the Titans had managed to stall and even push back the Gods on various fronts. If not for the brilliance of Metis and Prometheus, it was possible that the gods could have been entirely pushed back from mainland Greece. They were relying heavily on the might of Helios to keep themselves stable.

Fortunately, with their symbols of power forged and their monstrous uncles freed from their imprisonment in the depths of Tartarus, the Gods and their allies were free once more to rage war against the Titans

Zeus, with his mighty master bolt, called upon the power of Ouranos to wreak havoc against his father's armies. The sound of rolling thunder became an ill omen for the Titan armies as Zeus' divine lightning always followed it. Even the eldest of the Titans learned to fear the sound of Zeus' thunder.

While Zeus brought destruction from the Heavens, Poseidon, with his bronze trident, caused the very Earth itself to shake and shatter beneath the feet of the Titan armies, creating islands and splitting continents with his infamous fury. Combined with his devastating storms, Poseidon became the embodiment of a natural disaster, as his power did not differentiate between friend and foe.

While his brothers gained glory and infamy through their acts of destruction, Hades was the name the Titans feared the most; with fearsome bident in hand, Hades brought the terror and devastation of the Underworld onto Gaea, Plants rotted in his mere presence, shadows clung tightly onto the walls of the Titan's castles as a reminder that Hades could be watching, the Earth itself seemed to bleed magma in his wake. The Eldest son of Rhea and Kronos appeared to inherit his father's ability to imbue fear into the hearts of even the most powerful immortals.

Being supported by the power of their sisters and their allies, such as Helios, Selene, and Prometheus. The Gods went from strength to strength, leaving devastation behind on every battlefield they took. Soon, whispers reached Mount Othrys that Kronos's son's power had outgrown his own. This would cause many of the remaining neutral immortals to side with the Gods, Hecate, and Hypnos, just a few of whom would turn to the Gods' side.

Kronos, despite hearing of these rumors, would disregard them. After all, he still wielded the Scythe that slew the Sky itself; for all the power and progress that his children had made, he still held confidence that when it came down to a fight between himself and his children, he would come out victorious.

Still, even with their new weaponry and support from their uncles, the Titanomachy would continue to go on for seven years. Over these seven years, the Gods would topple each of the strongholds that gave the Titans dominion over the four corners of the world, taking more and more land from under the Titan's rule until all that remained as a bastion of Titan rule, the last hope for the continuation of 'the Golden age' was the place were it all began Mount Othrys...

Here, the armies of the Gods and Titans would face the final battle of the Titanomachy, the last battle that would decide the fate of the cosmos. Father against son, brother against sister, and God versus Titan, neither side could afford to fail as failure would mean eternal torment within Tartarus...
