4 Farewell

I dismissed all of my thoughts as I arrived at the foothill of a non-descript mountain. This mountain does not look any different from the other mountains except that the topmost most of it are always cloudy. It is a detail everyone misses since there are clouds on every mountain peak. I started trekking through a path that is hidden behind a rock and covered by snow. Halfway through my dad teleported beside me. I smiled at him in greeting. We both walked in comfortable silence. When I reached a certain height, I felt like I a passed through a membrane. It is the barrier and entrance to the dimensional pocket containing the adobe of Shiva, Kailash.

At first glance, everything looks common around here. It looks like a home of a tribal chief. But every item no matter how common it looks is an artifact. That begging bowl laying around was the bowl my grandfather used when he disguised himself as a beggar to meet my grandmother secretly before marriage. It can be used to store a large number of items. The tiger skin over the wall is one of many my grandfather sits on while meditating. It passively absorbed the stray annihilation energy exuded from his body. It can be used to make a virtually indestructible coat. It also has a one-time attack that can severely injure any ultimate class being. There are many such articles. A broken bow that Vishnu as Rama broke. My focus shifted from these to the person radiating pure chaos and a destructive aura.

Both I and my dad bowed with our hands in namaste to him. My grandfather Shiva is sitting in his usual lotus position with my grandmother Parvathi on his thigh. Shiva looks like a tribal warrior with a bare chest and tiger loincloth. He has various white markings on his body. The white marks radiate strong death energy. It seems he just came from visiting a graveyard. He has matted black hair with a crescent moon atop it and stars in between his locks. His half-open grey eyes find mine and I feel like he is looking into my soul assessing my power and my progress. He knew that I am not from this world on my first meeting. We had an interesting discussion regarding that.

"What is it Suhas? You don't visit me often, more so along with your father." He asked me while looking over dad as he finished his sentence.

Yeah, Dad and grandfather do not get along well. He doesn't like him being associated with Indra. The recent Indra and Shiva relations are not that good. It is probably because grandfather blesses Asuras more than any other gods. My grandmother, sensing the mood decided to intervene.

" Oh shut up Hara, Is that how you greet your family? At least he has a job to do unlike you who spends your time meditating and getting high." My grandfather looked about to counter but seeing her smiling face decided to just shut it. The atmosphere in the room has changed by the couple's banter. I smiled looking at my grandmother. We both rose and sat on the stool by the side.

" I am going to meet the Greek pantheon to visit my mother. I came to seek permission and to bid farewell. "

" You don't need my permission to meet your mother, my boy. Hmm... But Olympus is not peaceful these days. Just take care." My grandfather replied.

" And I remember we got your back." My grandmother added with a grin.

" If you'll excuse me, I need to talk to your father for a while. Meet Nandi, He'll drop you off. And... take this armlet. If you encounter any danger, press the gem."

" Suhas, I left my gift with grandma Ganga, pick it up along the way. It would suit you when you meet your mother." He said the last part in a very low voice as he left with my grandfather.

I bid my farewell once again to my grandmother before leaving. I found Nandi standing by the doorway. " How did it go? " He asked " Nothing much, Dad and grandfather are at it again. And grandmother is probably going to keep things from escalating. He sighed with a forlorn look. "Are you ready or do you need to pick up something?"

" I need to visit Ganga and then we'll be on our way," I said as I traced my path back to my cave Nandi in tow.

" Dadhi!" I shouted as I ran to her. She hugged me and a warm feeling enveloped me. She was with my all through my childhood when I was living in the mortal realm.

"What's up Suhas? You look excited. Are looking for this ?" She said as she materialized a bow with her hands. The bow is beautiful. It doesn't give a divine vibe so most probably a normal artifact. It's a recurve bow made with wood and bones. It gives off no scent. A good bow for hunting.

" It is a common bow used for scouts in god's army. It will be useful for your practice. "

" Thanks, Dadhi and convey my thanks to dad as well."

" Well then getting going. Oh before that," She said as she placed her finger between my eyebrows. I felt something enter my mind. It is information on how to make solid objects with water. It is a useful skill since I can make weapons or tools when I need them. I still need to practice to perfect them but I'll do it on my way. " Take care and enjoy your time."

" Thanks, Dadhi, I will probably be back in two or three months. See you then." I bid my farewell as I leave her to meet up with Nandi.

I found him waiting where I left him. He got on his fours as he found me walking toward him.

" Nandi let's go." I declared as I mounted onto him. I am excited about my first trip to the supernatural world.
