Ezir town inside the Dungeon 10th floor

The group took a rest on this floor as per mentioned before the departure

12 sleeping bags and tents were spread on this floor it was very dark, but a small fire was lit in the middle

1 person was sitting there, spaced out

he suddenly turned his head around staring into the darkness that surrounded the group

But there was nothing, only the sound of fire crackling was heard

The figure clenched one side of his head he was breathing roughly and his face was covered with sweat

'W-what is going on here, what are these strange voices im hearing, am I sick or something?'

It was Liam that couldn't sleep because of these strange voices he was hearing and the terrible headache he was having

Suddenly he remembered something and touched his chest pocket he felt a hard object the shape of a star inside

'Sigh~it's here this should be worth something I hope I can buy something edible with it'

Soon it was Morning the group woke up and ate a light breakfast only Liam was still sleeping which was normal because of his night shift

Charles discussed the strategies for the floors ahead they had to be careful of 2 floors before reaching the boss room

"As you all know everyone the 15th floor is a hard skip even with our numbers we don't have a chance and about the 19th floor is a skip too I don't wanna turn into a zombie(Charles)

"Yea boss with your build your gonna be an ugly one I bet(john)

"Hahahsha."

15th floor with swamp and its poisonous insects and the 19th floor with undead horde but nobody was worried because they came prepared

"Ok wake up that lazy chick and let's go"

Charles after ending the discussion said

Soon the group took the usual formation and continued on its way

The group was too strong for every floor simply having 6 people was more than enough for this dungeon only it was because of the handsome reward that their commissioner gave that the mercenary guild sent this many people

Group easily sweeped every floor with easy before the 15th floor everyone chugged down a minor poison resistance potion before entering and everything went smoothly

They slaughtered some giant insects before following the dungeon map provided by the guild to quickly find the portal leading to the next floor

A dungeon map was easily worth more than the lives of this whole group of people

these kinds of maps were drawn by the high-ranking awakeners that came to dungeons first and mapped out the floors with their party, including finding the portals leading to the next floors so the value of them was immense, only a dungeon that was worth the investment would be mapped out and big guilds and companies paid for them

The party continued on its way after the 15th floor the rest were easy floors composed of mostly jungle and cavern that was easily cleared by the sheer number of people in this party

not long after the party reached its final destination before the boss room

The 19th floor, was filled with a deadly horde of zombies and ghouls so the party had to be extra careful

Charles came to the front and with a serious face he said

"Ok everyone I believe you already know about the dangers of ghouls and zombies

Don't get bitten...I don't wanna lose anyone"

the bite of a zombie or a ghoul contained a terrifying venom that could dissolve the flesh and slowly turn the bitten person into a zombie

it was a horrible way of dying and the immeasurable pain brought by getting your flesh dissolved almost made any party raiding this dungeon avoid this floor like a plague

Just to be extra careful guild sent 2 healers with Light Affinity to accompany this party Aslan and Miranda were the 2

The party decided to avoid fighting zombies as much as possible and go straight for the portal to the next floor

The same strategy as the 15th floor

The party slowly went onto the 19th floor it was a jungle the same as the last floors the tall trees went very high into the sky casting a shadow beneath and creating a gloomy feeling for the creatures below

The jungle was dark and a mist was covering most parts, so it was very easy to get lost in this place

The party members moved close to each other cause getting separated only meant death

Charles took out the map a small spherical object and a holographic image of the dungeon appeared in mid-air with a slight glow

"The portal is on top of a hill on the east side of this floor, everyone be careful to not alert any ghoul their some crafty bastards "(Charles)

After this warning, the party continued on it's way because of the mist the movement was slow and some stray zombies were hidden in the mist so the movement was slow

After 3 hours of walking and climbing the steep hill on the map, the party reached a small cave that was supposed to have the portal inside it

Then Charles and john went in with a torch to make sure the cave was safe

the cave wasn't long after 2 minutes of walking and following the map they reached a small room that was supposed to have the portal inside it

But A foul stench of many corpses decaying invaded their nostrils, john barely held in the urge to vomit and Charles's face turned dead serious he was feeling very uneasy from the moment he sat foot inside this cave but his eyes suddenly jolted open....it was too late

Instead of the Portal, in the darkness, he saw a huge figure standing on its four legs reaching to his chest easily

that had long sharp claws and many disgusting long hairs, shaped like thorns penetrating its back

a pair of blood-red eyes that had no pupils were suddenly revealed in the darkness

The smell of the corpses became much more intense john couldn't handle it he fell on the floor vomiting Charles couldn't care less about him he slowly reached for his two-handed sword on his back when suddenly

Roooooaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrr!!!!!!!

The figure in the dark roared, so loud that Charles and John's ears started bleeding and the party outside heard this too they covered their ears immediately

Charles dashed forward slamming the sword on its back to the figure in the dark and cutting him in half easily his eyes darted to every corner of the room but no light was there

His face lost all the blood and his voice trembled uncontrollably

"I-impossible there i-is no way"

There was no portal here.

Charles quickly picked up john and dashed out of this cave and soon met up with the fear-stricken faces of his party

Cassandra walked forward her beautiful face devoid of any blood and fear in her voice she asked

"Charles w-what happened inside?"

Charles knew he couldn't hide anything from his party so he came out clean he said with a gloomy voice

"There was no portal inside the cave and..."

But before he could finish his sentence the sound of many more roars filled the jungle similar to the last one

Ghaaaaasa!!!! Roaaaaaaaar!!!!

The sound of footsteps filled the hill and surroundings everyone had the same thing in their mind

'The horde is coming.'

The party despite the immense hopelessness they were feeling and the fear gripping their hearts

got in formation while Charles explained everything

For some reason, the portal disappeared and a Ghoul was inside the cave that before he could do anything alerted others so now a horde was coming

"Protect the healers with your lives don't let them die and we can survive!!"

Charles roared this order before falling in formation and the horde of zombies and a few ghouls as leaders arrived

Clash!! Crash!! Bang!! Zap!! Slice! Crack!!

The sound of spells and shields and armor clashing filled the top of the hill everyone was fighting with all they had just to survive

4 hours later on top of the hill, it was littered with corpses, the stench of blood and corpses gave off a horrible sight to this place

7 figures were covered in blood and wounds were sitting here and there and some were lying on the ground but no bite marks on them

Cassandra Charles john Miranda Aslan Liam and josh the assassin

They were panting hard josh was seriously injured a huge claw mark was slashed at his chest and Aslan used the last drop of her mana to heal him and Miranda doing her best to save Cassandra that had a broken hand

Everyone was tired when suddenly john stood up and dashed towards Charles

Grabbing his collar and yelling

"What's the meaning of this huh there was supposed to be a portal inside there tell me!!!"

Charles also yelled back

"I don't know goddammit im also confused!!

"What do you mean you fat fuck!!

we can't leave this dungeon, because of you their all dead!!"

There was a set rule in every dungeon only those that wished to challenge the boss had to pass the mini-boss

Why?

Because after you defeat the mini-boss any exit leading to the lower floor will be closed off, so the party only has one choice either kill the boss and leave, or die trying

Liam was sitting on the ground his short sword lying next to him he was watching john and charles fighting while Miranda doing her best to separate the two

'Why? Just why did this happen.'

His eyes looked to the left

His close friend Eric his fellow porter was lying in a pool of blood his guts spilled out and his body filled with bite marks

His face covered with blood, tears, and snout showing his anguish before death

There were similar scenes here and there he couldn't believe the people he knew like family were dead just like this

He felt wrong like this wasn't supposed to happen

Soon the group fell into deathly silence john sitting beside Cassandra

Charles filled with guilt sitting not far from john

Aslan and Miranda nearly passed out from

over using their mana

And Liam taking care of josh that was just healed

And like this, the party spends the night inside the cave nearby

Tomorrow morning everyone was discussing their plans for going forward

John was adamant about staying in this cave and not leaving he was scared

"Guys maybe we can wait for a party that is attempting to kill the boss yea let's just wait for help"

Cassandra refuted

"No we can't we don't know how long that will take....and tomorrow the zombies will respawn and ghouls will follow afterward

Thier weak monsters but they are many so we can't stay"

Charles also said

"Your right our food rations are running out I don't know about you guys but I'm on my last rope"

Besides the monsters respawning the food was also a problem there wasn't any living creature on this floor except zombies

and because of the lack of light no fruit grew only poisonous mushrooms were plenty so there was no food

After some discussion, the group decided to attempt the raid on the boss monster after the healers recovered their mana

After 4 hours the group got ready

Because of the last fight all the tanks died except Charles so Liam and john joined him on the Frontline

while josh and Cassandra were the damage dealers and healers positioned on the far back

The party opened the doors leading to the boss room and immediately they saw

A huge red lizard 10 meters long and 8 feet tall

Standing on its 4 legs his long tongue would come out occasionally

His skin was red and it had a long tail with big orange eyes

Behind him was the huge Statue of an Elf wearing heavy and majestic armor and a crown on its head holding a sword on top of a Demons severed head

Charles quickly used his ability Taunt and got the attention of the Salamander

The huge lizard Rushed towards him intending to bash his head at him

Which Charles easily evaded and Salamander crashed into the wall

Crash!!! Tud!! Tud!

The pieces of rocks fell everywhere and once again Salamander came at him with its claws

Bang!!

Claws hit the giant shield in his hands and healers quickly used all the buffs available on Charles

"Tough skin!!

"Light shield!!"

John and Liam took the opportunity and attacked the Salamander while josh dashed for its legs

Liam's attack didn't have any effect on the Salamander's tough skin he was too weak

On the other hand, Cassandra was using all of her mana to lunch a spell that would kill the boss others just had to protect her

Shortly after 2 minutes of fierce struggling a huge wave of mana emitted from Cassandra The spell was finished

Feeling this everyone hurriedly distanced themselves from the boss while Cassandra yelled

"Lightning gods lent me your strength!!!"

Cracking!! Crack!!

A huge lightning pillar appeared and struck the Salamander the blinding light made everyone close their eyes

Then the silence fell everyone looked at the huge lizard that whose original red skin was black now and his body was emitting the smell of burned flesh

But contrary to everyone's hopes he didn't fall to the ground

Hisssssss!!!!!

He hissed loudly and his eyes turned blood red this was the scenario the party never hoped to see but it happened

The boss rage time

For a short period of time boss would burn his life force and attack with all his strength the last struggle before its death

Charles quickly moved to the front to protect everyone and Liam quickly fell back running toward the Statue

When he got closer the crystal in his chest pocket started vibrating violently

'What is going on?'

Liam thought before the crystal flew out from his pocket and went straight for the crown of the Elven Statue fixing itself on its center

Suddenly huge tremors came

Ruuuuuumble!!

Like an earthquake everything shook then suddenly the huge Statue moved to the right revealing a huge corridor held up by giant and majestic pillars on the far end of this corridor was a skeleton that had a strange sword penetrating its chest but the sword was bound by many strange black chains and firmly locked in place

Feeling the tremors a figure showed up at the entrance to the boss room out of thin air

The group quickly noticed him, especially Charles that was shocked to the core he couldn't believe his eyes

'What's my commissioner doing here?'

Aamon finally showed up

Looking at the scenery in front of him, he couldn't help but reveal a strange smile. After all, he didn't need to deal with any beasts, traps, or dangerous spell formations so the trip was quite relaxing for him.
