A cautious first step

In this world it is kill or be killed. It was really a tail fine thought that you are surrounded by countless people that can kill you on a whim and you can do nothing. It is not just about the power gap but also about the administrative system. In a village like the hidden leaf, no matter how much pr campaign you do about safety and equality, at the end of the day this village is nothing more than a military dictatorship. But that's not the worst thing either. There are many different factions in the village that are seeing their own profit in everything. For example my own mother, Mebuki Haruno was a member of civilian council. She was a former chunin. But after marrying another chunin, Kizashi Haruno, she left the job of a shinobi. But now they are one of the most influential merchant family in the entire hidden leaf. I am sure that this world is different from the canon. As I don't remember them being this rich or influential in the canon. Almost 70% of the textile business in the hidden leaf comes under our family. Feather it is sturdy shinobi clothing aur comfortable civilian clothes, everything is available near Harunos. And because they are one of the top tax payers in the hidden leaf, my mom has gotten a seat in the civilian council.

When I first expressed my desire to know about chakra and being a shinobi, they agreed immidiately. Upon enquiring further, I understood what they have been planning for me in the future. They wanted me to reach at least the rank of chunin. In my carrier as a shinobi, either I should seduce someone from an influential clan or earn some good name for my self. If nothing much then at the last resort I can take over the family business. Thinking about it the offer was not that bad. They was not trying to hold me back instead they were trying to save me from this bloody life. Well in normal case and normal scenario it would have been one of the best option for me. But knowing what future holds, I am not sure that I will survive if I followed their route. Of course they don't want any harm to me. And that's why I listened to their every advice without protesting very much. As long as I have enough power it doesn't matter what rank I hold in the future. I remember there was a meme about Genin and Jonin fights in Naruto. Both Naruto and Sasuke were Genins during the fourth great shinobi war. But it didn't matter, because the power they held was greater than that of a kage.

And obviously I haven't forgotten about motherf****** Danzo. As my greatest obstacle, I am very cautious about him. That was the main reason I decided to act as a child. My fangirl game of facade was a part of it. Sure I didn't want to make an enemy out of Ino, but it was best way to avoid any unwanted attention. That brings the main topic of discussion. Unlike what I thought the first year of the academy was not very boring. Well at least not for me.

In the first year of shinobi academy they mainly focus on three things.

The first and the most important thing was the basics of every subject such as basic reading writing and mathematics.

The second thing was the will of fire. I thought that this was the brainwashing method that the third Hokage came up with. But I was really surprised that the will of fire was originally the idea of the second Hokage, Tobirama Senju.

As I understood the key of this will of fire I realised that the thing is entirely different from what those fanfictions explained. The original book written by the second Hokage tells different story about the will of fire. Basically speaking it is an excuse to take another's life. Of course it also tells about the virtue of loyalty to the village. But mostly it's focus is on explaining about the righteous reason for killing. Don't interpret it wrong. It is a brainwashing book. But instead of focusing about the loyalty to the village it focuses on killing and not feeling guilty in the name of protecting the village. If not for my experience from my last life in a world where both technologies and civilisation is much more advanced, then I might have fallen for this.

These two were the main area where the instructor focused. Same goes for most of the children. But there was also a third part. There are different basics skills that were available in the first year for the interested students who want to know more. The part of the academy library that was open for the first years has many different books about history, mathematics and calligraphy. And among them I focused on my calligraphy. I never learnt it in my previous life. So I decided to focus on it. As I wanted to learn fuinjutsu later.

Then there was history. Those books were useless as they were written in very simply stick language and their were very little information in them.

It is better not to mention about mathematics. The mathematics section in the library was available to the students of all years. It has algebra about that of a high school standard. But the geometry part was the worst. And not to mention they were nothing on trigonometry. They didn't have even a formula of how to calculate the area of a circle. Basically they don't have a Pi. It was surprising that a world where electricity already exists, they don't have such basic things.

Most of my first year passed away practicing calligraphy. The materials were not my concern. So I practiced it to my heart's content. The home room teacher for the first year was Muramasa sensei who didn't care as long as someone didn't make a ruckus.

Then there was the final matter in the first year. The protagonist or in this case just a poor soul. Naruto, he was just an innocent boy. He didn't even know what wrong he has done to get such treatment from every adult. Almost all of the children in the academy also avoided him. Most of them, listening to their parents. By almost all means except for four of course. Although Shikamaru was suspicious of me at first for pestering them to become friends with Naruto, but he agreed after a while. As the four of us stayed in a group most of the time, it won't raise any suspicion for me to occasionally help Naruto with some basic things. Obviously I was not friendly with him. But I was not purposefully avoiding him either.

Helping him in studies, where the teachers ignored him completely and sometimes sharing our food was there basic thing that I did.

The first year in the academy was very normal. At least from other's point of view it was normal. But for me it was the first step in my life.

Our first year ended with everyone taking a life of a bore or a rabbit.
