Connection

For the next few days Leo really didn't do a lot.

He mostly hung around the mention, patroling it every now and then and laundering the cryptocurrency he received.

One thing Leo disliked about the crypto was how volatile it could be, one day he would have a 10% increase in profit meanwhile the next day he would be down a good amount.

However, there really wasn't a lot he could do about it since cashing it out yet was not an option.

It was a usual day for Leo, he did a little patrol around the mansion before heading back inside, sitting on the couch opposite to Valentina.

Leo simply watched TV for a while until Valentina spoke to him.

"Leo, didn't you want to connect again with Noah?"

A look of surprise could be seen on Leo's face.

"Yeah! I did!" said Leo.

"We recently ordered an anomaly shipment that Noah scammed us out to a local warehouse, he's tagging along with the shipment so you'll be able to see him, besides I want to see the look on his face as he realizes that I managed to convince you to work for me meanwhile he failed at it.

Leo sighed.

"You know, you didn't exactly leave me a lot of choice."

"Nope! I didn't!" said Valentina as she laughed.

Leo looked at Valentina annoyed for a while until she stopped laughing and continued.

"Anyway, I wanna double check the shipment personally, that way I get to assure that the bastard sent us all the anomalies that we need and you get to meet up with him again and have a little chat."

Leo thought about it for a while before responding.

"Alright, that seems reasonable."

Noah was a powerful connection that Leo had that he didn't want to lose earlier.

Noah already had taken a liking to Leo due to some previous missions and his abilities, so Leo could probably get a handful of favors out of him, not to mention that he paid pretty decently for his missions as well if he had them.

Noah had displayed interest in Leo for a while and even attempted to buy him from MC&D, but that didn't work out back then, Leo also was quite curious on how Noah would react.

"So, when will the shipment exactly arrive?"

"The shipment is arriving in roughly four hours, if I take a look at the tracker that is with the shipment, that is."

"And how long of a drive is the warehouse?" asked Leo.

"Let's see... It would be around a two hour long drive, so we will be taking our leave in roughly an hour and a half."

Leo nodded as he went to his "room" to prepare.

One thing Leo did find odd is that Noah traveled alongside the anomaly shipment.

Leo knew from firsthand experience how dangerous it was, after all back when he was with MC&D and he was escorting a shipment they did get ambushed.

In the end Leo just assumed that Noah wouldn't actually be with the shipment, but rather trailing it from a distance.

When Leo went to the basement the first thing he did was take out his MPX and properly clean, customize and load it.

Another thing Leo had recently ordered in the last couple of days was some a light but strong ballistic vest.

It ended up costing him a good amount of cash since he also wanted it to be concealable.

It wouldn't stop anything that was high caliber, but it would block a good amount of 9mm and .45 ACP rounds.

It would still hurt like hell, but at least they wouldn't enter his body.

Leo mostly wore civilian clothes lately in order to properly blend in so the vest wasn't all too noticeable and he didn't stand out.

Once Leo had everything ready, he headed back upstairs.

He still had a good amount of time left, and in that time he didn't really do a lot except just look hang around.

After a while, it was finally time to depart, and Valentina signaled Leo to follow her.

They headed outside and a luxurious black car was waiting for them.
