Masked blur

It had been 2 weeks since Verlin arrived on the planet, Nothing much had happened since the airplane incident. The military still hasn't found the traces of the culprit. Although the culprit hasn't attacked him again, they must have had information from his phone, including his contacts, so he has been keeping a close eye on Chloe throughout the past 17 days. Although he felt bad for breaching her privacy, it's much better to be safe.

Another thing that Verlin noticed was that the stronger he got, the faster his strength increased, to the point that he is currently twice as strong as he was when he had landed, in speed, strength and durability along with his other abilities. Verlin raised his eyebrows and said, "We?"

Chloe nodded her head and said, "Yes we, aren't you curious to find another Enhanced human?"

Verlin was silent, If it was an Enhanced human that lifted a plane like that, he would be curious. But that was him. "Sure, we can investigate, but we can do that tomorrow. It's already late at night. In fact, I gotta go home."

Chloe looked outside to see it was already night she turned to Verlin and said, " Alright then, we shall investigate tomorrow."

Verlin flew out the window and was about to head home. He heard someone scream, Verlin was a little suprised because although he had only been stopping criminal activity for about 2 weeks, the crime rate had dropped to almost nothing, The city didn't have much crime to begin with. When he looked at the direction of the scream, he saw 4 people standing in an isolated alley. The problem was that none of them seemed to be in trouble. They were all just standing there, and only one of them was shouting for help.

Verlin could tell they were trying to get his attention, Verlin put on his mask, and shortly after appeared in the alley. Verlin took some time to analyze them. They were all wearing masks that looked like helmets and tight suits. Verlin could tell there were 2 men and 2 women in their bunch. When they saw Verlin, they didn't speak and immediately attacked him. Verlin was a bit surprised to see one of the women took the lead and ran more than 10 times faster than the others and appeared in front of him with some sort of injection in her hand. Verlin grabbed her arm and seized the injection away, and threw her towards the others. But she regained her sense of balance mid-air and landed on the ground with a flip.

Verlin no longer wasted anytime and rushed the 4 of them, intending to knock them out. It was obvious one of them was an enhanced human, so he went after her first, but to his suprise when he was about to hit her, she dodged his attack, although Verlin wasn't going too fast even Rachel wouldn't be able to react to this level of speed. Verlin moved back and took another look at the 4 of them with his microscopic vision. And he couldn't help but pause at what he saw. All of them were enhanced humans.

And it wasn't like a Rachel or Chloe type of enhanced human. Their body density was more than 20 times that of a human. This was leagues above Chloe and Rachel. While Verlin was thinking, all 4 of them attacked him at the same time, one had a fire ability, another with wind, and the last one didn't use any ability.

Verlin stood in a spot and let their attacks hit him. After the smoke cleared, they saw their attacks didn't work, and Verlin could hear a voice from their earpiece telling them to retreat. Verlin wasn't going to let them escape as he attacked the one with super speed. This time, he went at a speed she couldn't react to, and this time, he hit her with a punch and sent her flying through a concrete wall. Verlin went for the one with a fire ability but kept his eye on the others. Verlin tried to hit him on the side of his head, but Verlins arm went right through his body. Verlin saw the fire dude elementalize and turn into pure fire. He noticed some movement and saw the other woman that hadn't used an ability, teleported to the other woman he knocked into the wall, and both of them disappeared.

Verlin wasn't too concerned as he had already memorized their heartbeat and DNA. Verlin tried to attack the other dude with a wind ability and encountered the same problem. Verlin could think of ways to stop them, but didn't know if it would kill them or not.The teleporting woman appeared again and took away the fire dude. Verlin decided to stop attacking and wait. When she teleported back here again, he appeared right in front of her and grabbed her by the throat, Verlin had never spoken when he wore the mask, but he had to make an exception, he changed his voice to sound neither male nor female and said, " Who are you and what do you want?"

The woman didn't reply as she teleported away from his hand and picked up the last dude and left. Verlin flew directly to the sky and tried to find their heartbeat. He listened to everything in City A but couldn't find the sound he was looking for.

He flew even higher into the sky and started flying around the entire western Federation but still couldn't find anything. Verlin figured that they must be in some sort of soundproof room. He didn't dare imagine that she could teleport over a thousand kilometers of distance multiple times.

Verlin looked at the injection he took from one of the women. It was a transparent substance, but the needle on it was much denser than steel. They probably thought he was an enhanced human and were trying to kidnap him. Although Verlin couldn't find their location, he knew that they weren't after Verlin but were after the masked blur.
