Loot & Monster Mixing

Back in the Dungeon, I was looking through all the loot I had gotten from the goblin, as well as what the system meant when it said I 'leveled up'.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[Name: Rusty Iron Sword {Goblin Crafting Recipe} "Like an iron sword, just with brown stuff on it."

mana cost: 35

Item Rarity: Common

Item Type: Weapon

Description: A worn Iron sword made by a Goblin craftsman, due to the sword being made for a goblin, It will become significantly more difficult for another race to use. Due to the sword's rusty nature, the sword will have a chance to apply the Tetanus Debuff. When this sword is wielded by a goblin, they will gain a plus 1 to strength, while gaining a -1 to dexterity.

NOTE: These effects are dungeon specific, and thus are not given by normal goblin Iron swords.]

I was interested by the stat bonuses that the sword gave out, also that Tetanus debuff seemed quite powerful if used in the middle of combat. I looked over the traits of the Coyote hide that the goblin had been wearing as a loincloth.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[Name: Tanned Coyote hide {Goblin Crafting Recipe} "Without these, you'd want to burn your eyes out... trust me, I know the feeling.

mana cost: 25

Item Type: Crafting/Apparel

Rarity: Common

Description: This hide is less armour, and more goblin fashion. Goblins wearing this will gain +2 Charisma, as well as the loose armour buff giving a +10% dexterity for as long as the armour is worn. If used in crafting, the wielder will gain +5 dexterity as part of the Coyote's main trait, any attacks made with one's teeth will do +20% damage.]

Finally I looked at the wooden coins.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[Name: Wooden Coins "Useless... reminds me of someone. Any guesses?"

mana cost: 1

Item Type: Currency

Rarity: Common

Description: The lowest form of currency in this world, wooden coins are essentially worthless.]

Noticing a lack of, well, everything, I asked Celes about this world's currency.

"Well, on this World, the main currency is made up from a variety of coins, they are:

Wooden coin

Copper coin (10x wood coins)

Silver coin (100x copper coins)

Gold coin (100x silver coins)

Platinum coin (1,000x gold coins)

Mythril coin (10,000x platinum coins)

Adamantite coin (100,000x Mythril coins)

Celestial token - Currency of higher beings

I doubt that the goblin city you saw has anything higher than a silver coin in the whole place."

"What are Celestial Tokens?" I asked.

"They're the kind of currency that Gods and extremely high level people use. Since their stats are so high, they can essentially get whatever they want for free. So, when these higher beings trade with one another, they trade with a coin that is made using part of their own souls. These celestial coins are proven to be the best way for them to break through divinity and go to the next level, which no one below divine rank even knows about." she replied

"Hey, what actually are stats, also, what do you mean by ranks." I asked after she mentioned them.

"Stats represent the strength of a creature's physical, mental, and spiritual abilities, neatly conveyed in numerical terms, the stats are:

Strength - is the physical stat that represents the force a creature can put out, directly correlates with physical damage, as well as the amount of weight that a creature can lift.

Endurance - is the physical stat that shows how much force a creature can take, directly correlates with resistance to debuffs, poisons, etc., as well as resistance to physical and magical attacks

Dexterity - is the physical stat that correlates with movement speed, dodging capabilities, reflexes, flexibility, and attack speed.

Intelligence - is the mental stat that reflects on one's speed of learning, resistance to mental attacks, as well as mana regeneration rate.

Wisdom - similar to intelligence, Wisdom has domain over memory, and is the main stat needed for increasing the amount of mana one can hold, also helps in resisting mental attacks.

Charisma - a unique stat that is often related to people's impression on others, it heightens one's social skills, as well as their physical appeal

Spirit - not much is known about the spirit stat, it has the ability to resist soul based attacks, and is often referred to as someone's connection to the universe. Often unusual events happen around those with high numbers in it.

As for the ranks When you reach a certain level, you reach a different rank. When you reach level 10 you'll become Silver rank, Level 50 for Gold, 100 for Platinum, 500 for Mythril, and 1,000 for Adamantite. Anything above that is classed as divine rank, as for above that, I don't know. Wood ranks are just those that don't have the ability to cultivate mana. You are currently Bronze rank."

Thanking Celes for the information, I look back to my 'spoils of war'.

Deciding to leave the Goblin for last I immediately checked my leveling up reward.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[You have leveled: You are now level 2 {BRONZE rank} "Wow, they grow up so fast. I feel like a mother watching their child learn that the circle doesn't go in the square hole."

EXP needed for level 3: 100 exp

For leveling up, mana storage has doubled: 200/200

your aura can now travel double the distance: 200 metres]

excited at the news, I was about to start mining, but reframed. I figured to summon a monster it would require quite a bit of mana, so I looked over the 'NEW MONSTER' Prompt.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[You have unlocked a new monster: GOBLIN

Mana cost: 100

Base stats:

Strength:15

Endurance: 15

Dexterity: 15

Intelligence: 5

Wisdom: 6

Charisma: 3

Spirit: 17

Description: "Dumb, Green, and Ugly; hey, it's like you, just green" The goblins are known as the Bastards of the sentient creatures, as they are a mix breed of every other race; ears of the elves, green skin of the orcs, physique of the gnomes, height of the dwarves, etc. Despite this, goblins are remarkably horrible at most things, well, except for their explosives, and amazing digestive track.

This monsters' attributes have been enhanced by your dungeon ability.

As an added bonus, rather than being limited to the mixing of monsters, you may also mix monsters with inanimate objects to create a new creature. Mana cost will change depending on materials used.

NOTE: because this is a sentient monster, it will be sentient when summoned. It will be completely loyal however.

NOTE: With your current level, you may only create one combination per day.]

Pretending to not see the AI's comment, that sounded awesome! Just having the ability to change a creature by mixing it with normal materials, if I could drool, I'd definitely be drooling over all the possibilities I could create.

Wondering what the average stats were, Celes told me that a normal humans stats were all around 10.

Wanting to try the ability out right away, I looked through what I had. Wool goblin, Rusty Iron Sword Goblin, Stone Goblin, Coyote hide Goblin, and Wood Goblin, briefly wondering what a Coyote hide Goblin would look like, I immediately narrowed it down.

Stone Goblin, or Rusty Iron Sword Goblin. I thought about what I needed right now, I knew that I needed to finish the rooms in my dungeon, and I knew I wouldn't be able to mine out rooms quick enough with 2 cubic metres of mining, plus if I went with the stone goblins, I'd imagine they'd be quite troublesome to fight as well.

Whereas with the Rusty Iron Sword Goblin, it'd most likely be an exclusive fighter type, without much practical use.

Locking in Rock Goblin, I mentally made the choice to combine my Goblin Monster with the stone I had been mining.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[You have combined a creature.

You have created a STONE Goblin

Mana Cost: 200 mana

Base Stats:

Strength: 26

Endurance: 33

Dexterity: 3

Intelligence: 8

Wisdom: 9

Charisma: 5

Spirit: 17

Description: "Big, strong, and rock hard! Now that's what I like in a monster, even has the endurance to match." Like it sounds, The rock Goblin is made out of rock, and does have the capabilities to move, albeit slowly, perfect for manual labour, and fighting slow mobs. Due to the dungeon's abilities, this mob has been given a few extra abilities: Extreme heat resistance - nothing cooler than magma could even hope to scathe this monster, Terraform - This monster can mold stone around it into any shape, including itself.]

It was even better than I expected! I knew it'd be powerful, but the stats alone on this made it superior in every way to the regular goblin, not to mention its 'Terraform' ability, which I could think of several for. I didn't know how I could use the 'extreme heat resistance' yet, but it'd definitely be useful in the future.

I knew my dungeon ability was powerful, but I didn't know it was to this extent.

I immediately chose to summon it right in front of my core.

My core glowed brightly, and almost instantly a hulking stone being, almost 7 feet tall appeared within the room, it was a true behemoth of a creature with broad shoulders that were almost 2 metres across. it looked like a statue of a goblin, all the joints had slight crevasses surrounding them, I figured they were for it to move.

"MAASSTTERR!" The goblin said slowly, as one could imagine the sound was literally stone against stone, making it sound quite deep and croaky.

Still staring at the goblin in awe, I almost forgot to speak.

Deciding to take upon the attitude of an old grandmaster, I spoke in a composed voice, "You, my creature, as your master I order you to start mining out a room with the dimensions of 10m x 20m x 10m facing the wall behind you. Once you finish, I'd like you to do the same going in the same direction. Once you've done this 5 times, come back for further orders." I didn't have access to many resources as of right now, so I figured I should start off with some simple rooms, at least until I could get access to more mobs.

...

The next day, I was mining around with my new extended influence, and I found something...

Iron!

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[Name: Iron

Mana cost: 15

Item Rarity: Common

Item Type: Crafting material

Description: "Congratulations! You can now much a shiny brick!" Iron is one of the most common, yet valuable metals used in Quinalia, it's used in armour tools, and in rare cases, even houses, Iron is everywhere. Due to your Dungeon Bonus, This iron is twice as strong, and 20% lighter than normal iron. Any tools or armour made with this iron will gain those bonuses, as well as grant both 5 strength, and 5 endurance."

As soon as I faw this, I immediately tried to combine it with my goblin, only to come to a saddening revelation.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[You do not have enough mana to summon IRON Goblin, therefore you cannot combine this creature.]

Fearing the worst, I decided to try and combine the rusty iron sword with the goblin, only to be met with the same message.

"Damn it!" I shouted allowed, startling the Rock Goblin in the other room, who had been mining at an extremely fast pace.

I calmed down. Then a thought came to me.

If I can combine mobs with inanimate objects, can I combine inanimate objects with other inanimate objects?

Now out of my disappointment, I tried combining the Coyote Hide with the Iron, and to my surprise, it actually worked.

SYSTEM NOTIFICATION:

[You have made 'Hide of the Iron Coyote king'

Congratulations, you have made a unique item!]
