Eyeball was an eyeball, created from the fear children hold towards eyes, or as Eyeball likes to call them, vision spheres.
Eyeball's favorite pastime was spying on humans.
He especially like watching as they went on with their day-to-day lives.
He saw them moving their hands around on the square object that had more squares on it, making clacking sounds.
He saw them talking to the glowing box that they seem to carry around everywhere.
He saw the small humans as they made loud noises and made water come out of their vision spheres.
He watched as the humans exercised together.
He looked on as the humans played together, rolling around under their sleep station, all the while making strange, yet happy, noises.
But the more he looked at the humans, the more he realized that they could not see him. He didn't want to be the only one who spied on others, he also wanted others to spy on him.
So he searched for someone who could see him, and he found them.
Strange creatures, completely unlike the humans. Some were tall, some were pale, some where chunky, but they could all see him.
So he started spying on them, all in the hopes that they would spy on him.
Day after day, he hid behind trees, walls, bushes, and even lampposts(although his body started to hurt all over after that), to no avail.
The non-humans, who he later learned were called cursed spirits, could see him, but would not look at him...
They could see him, but would not spy on him...
They could see him, but would not talk to him...
So he robbed them of their vision spheres. When they were unguarded, he would come in and take their eyes.
He could excuse humans from not spying on him, for they could not see him, but he would not excuse those who could see him but would not talk to him.
One day, as he looked upon his collection of vision spheres, he felt hungry. Seeing nothing around him, he started to feast on the vision spheres. That was when he realized, he felt good.
So he stole more vision spheres, and ate them. The more he ate, the stronger he felt. The more he ate, the larger he became...
But the more he ate, the less happy he became. Eyeball didn't know what else to do, so he continued... until he became the strongest in the city. Deep down, he was empty. All he wanted was someone who would spy on him and talk to him. All he wanted was a friend...
One day, he felt as if something was calling him. He grew excited. No one had ever talked to him. Well, except those strange wide humans who call out to someone every time they open a door or turn a corridor.
Eyeball instinctually knew what this calling was. If he accepted, he would have a friend. Eyeball's thought process went something like this: I want friend--> accepting gives me a friend--> that's good-->hmm, what was I thinking about again?--> OH YES, FRIEND!.
So he accepted and was transported to a dark room with a shadowy non-human with glowing vision spheres.
Immediately, Eyeball felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. The only ones who have ever looked at him were the strong humans, but they hurt him every time he saw them. Nonhumans don't look at him. The one in front of him was a nonhuman, thus he won't look at him.
But he was wrong. The nonhuman, whose name he later learned was Inei, did look at him. Not only that, but he had talked to him.
He had finally made his first friend.

Umm, I had to finish a paper for my econ class, so I didn't have time to type out a longer chapter. I'm one of those people who has to stick with a schedule to feel satisfied, so I decided to just put out one of the side story chapters I had set aside.
Tell me what you liked and what you disliked.
Also, tell me how you like my writing. I feel like I haven't been progressing as much in my story telling skills.
