THE SKELETON KING, WANNABE

THE SKELETON KING, WANNABE

"Who are you intruders who come to Melling city?" a captain of the guards shouted to us and asked as our visit to the city finally caught the attention of the authorities.

"We are merchants from Trogdol going to Drachia for trade", I replied to him.

"The merchants will never come inside our city. They will avoid us from a mile away. You are lying", the captain replied to me and accused.

"What is the point of talking to these fools", Sara told us as a powerful whirlwind surrounded the city's guards and brought them into the air.

According to Sara's logic, there was no talking out of the situation. A battle with the guards was inevitable so she might as well take the initiative to strike first.

Soon, more guards and soldiers rushed to the street to meet us.

"Who are you people?" another captain asked us again.

"We are Conjurers from the Conjurer Court. We came to investigate reports of dark magic practice in this city", I told him, this time giving another reason for our visit.

However, the captain this time was shocked by my revelations and was threatened by it. The name of the Conjurer Court invoked fear in the soldiers of Melling city for some reason.

"They are doing something perverted here. I can see the micro expressions of guilt all over their bloody faces", Sara told us.

"What the hell are you people doing here in Melling city?" I asked them.

Suddenly, more soldiers arrived to arrest the situation.

"We must stop the conjurers from stopping the king's awakening", the captain told the other soldiers and guards as they charged towards us.

"Damnit, they are awakening the Skeleton King again", I complained to them.

"What did you expect, this is the magic of this damn cursed region", Sara replied to me.

"What are we going to do now, master?" Meera asked me.

"Well, the purpose of my visit here is to prevent the Skeleton King's revival, it seems I came to the right place and at the right time", I replied to her.

Suddenly, the soldiers who charged at us were violently thrown into the air. They floated around chaotically across the sky hurting themselves as they clashed onto each other, doing more harm to themselves than harming us.

"Upheaval of Greater Chaos"

"This chaos magic of yours is so useful and intimidating to the enemy", Rinna said to me and appreciated my newfound strength.

"I never expected the fundamental and basic magic of chaos can be so effective. Most pre-legendary opponents become useless under its influence", I replied to them.

In the realm of Delirium, I lost all my templar and bone magic after augmenting with the Black Heart of the Dark Angel.

But I've obtained enormous advancement to my chaos magic which became not only magical skills that I could use but it became like a part of me.

The strength of my chaos magic was further amplified by my Black Heart. Now, even basic magic like Upheaval could cause havoc against most under the Legendary rank.

"This way", Sara told us as she led us forward into the bone filled city.

"Where are we going?" Rinna asked.

"To the bloody palace", she replied to her.

Sara detected enormous magic in the palace of the city, and it was most likely to be the place where the Skeleton King was to be awakened.

-----

Soon, we arrived at the palace, much to the shock of the Melling folk.

The air was thick with the putrid stench of death, and a hazy fog hung low, born from the ash of charred or dissolved bones.

Conjurers and soldiers alike rushed to arrest us, their weapons and magic at the ready. Hundreds of them charged, but we were undeterred. With little effort on our part, they were thrown into the air, helpless to stop our advance.

"Upheaval of Greater Chaos"

As the attackers were scattered, we pushed forward, leaving them behind us.

Before us lay a scene of dark magic—a carefully constructed arraye, surrounded by cartloads of bones, each one meticulously arranged in intricate patterns. The bones connected, forming a web of sinister and powerful magic.

In the center of the array stood a figure, dressed as though on the brink of kingship. The magic within the array was poised to crown him, anointing him as the Skeleton King.

-----

"Is it Kolgane again? He never dies or quit" Cassandra commented and asked us.

"No, he is not. He looks completely different", Chash replied to her.

"Who dares stop my awakening as the Skeleton King", the guy shouted to us as the bones around the magic arraye dissolved and transformed into whitish essences that flowed into him.

"He's not the Skeleton King yet", Meera told us.

"We must stop his awakening", Chash told me.

I quickly summoned my Malevolent Slaves as they dived into the floor. They quickly crawled toward the magic arraye of the Skeleton King to steal his bones.

"Summon Malevolent Slaves"

As my Malevolent Slaves munched on the Skeleton King's bones, the Skeleton King-to-be cried out in a furious wail.

"What are you? Only dogs will steal bones", Ratatouille commented to me suddenly about my Malevolent Slaves when he appeared before us.

"Did you find anything valuable here?" I asked him.

Ratatouille was the first to leave us once we arrived in Melling. He must have gone treasure hunting ahead of us.

"Nah, there is nothing valuable in this bloody place except plenty of worthless bones", he replied to me.

"Soon, even bones will not exist here in this place anymore", I replied to him.

Currently, I have more than a hundred Malevolent Slaves. They swiftly cleansed the palace from bones.

"Who are you people?" the Skeleton King wannabe asked us angrily as the bones around him were quickly taken by my many Malevolent Slaves.

"What are we going to do about the Skeleton King?" Chash asked us.

"Kill them all", Sara replied to us emotionlessly.
