Chapter 15

In his heart of hearts, Akin knows he is responsible for how he ended up.

Still, the young striker always felt that if he had a better agent, that could keep him grounded.

He wouldn't have ended up how he did.

In this lifetime, he would not work with Sirius Malcolms.

This was something he had long since determined.

After discarding this card, his eyes were caught by one that sparked his interest; on the card, the name emboldened read, Jerome Anderson.

After speaking to his mother, he convinced her to contact the agent Jerome Anderson. This name can be linked to many names from Arsenal's Invincibles era.

The next day both mother and son met with him at a small cafe in Horsfield.

Sat across them was a caucasian man not much older than Alicia, dark hair and with a face similar to a Pixar villain.

Although he seems fresh, Akin was very familiar with him; Mr Anderson grew up as a fan of Arsenal and can be said to be a true Gooner in his core.

Previously working as an accountant for the gunners, he has just begun his career with SEM. This agency would grow more famous for signing Arsenal's generals in his past life.

Premier League Scoring legend Ian Wright; the Cool headed Striker known as The Iceman Dennis Bergkamp, Arguably the most outstanding Keeper in England's History Safe hands David Seaman, Frances talented midfielder Emmanuel "Manu" Petit, the spiritual leader known as Mr Arsenal Tony Adams, and last but not least France's legendary striker.

Even the king of Highbury and one of the world's greatest scorers who will break the record for most goals for Arsenal, As well as being the personal hero of Akin, Thierry Henry.

Of course, all this may not happen in this life, but as of right now, Jerome is the perfect agent for the young prodigy.

This is because Akin wishes to grow up in the invincible era, learn from one of the most talented squads in the history of the premier league, and maybe even become the future king of Arsenal.

It can be said that Akin is very ambitious; his goal is to be the greatest in individual and team honours.

For his current plan, however, to work, he must first guarantee a place in Arsenal. Jerome can be considered a part of the family; he has an excellent relationship with the executives of Arsenal.

As long as he can maintain his current projection rate, then he is almost guaranteed a contract with the first team with a decent contract.

Jerome was pleasantly surprised to hear from Mrs Adeleke, although he had been working for a few months.

He has not yet heard back from anyone he gave his card to; this is pretty understandable; to be honest.

Still, as he sat down, he projected confidence as he stared at the silent mother and son duo.

Alicia Adeleke was from he knew a nurse at a local university hospital; she was widowed and single.

As he watched her, she seemed nervous; although she hid it well enough, she would shift in discomfort from time to time.

He then turned his attention to his target for this meeting and found his eyes meeting his prospective client.

The boy is young, eleven years old; the boy's intelligent eyes were calmly assessing him subconsciously.

He found his back straightening as he felt the same pressure from players he had met in the locker room.

'This is a twelve-year-old? why do I feel like I am looking at a professional player.'

After coughing dryly, he smiled as best he could towards an uncomfortable-looking Alicia. She was sipping a cup of coffee.

"Thank you for taking the time to meet me…how do you prefer to be addressed? MIss? Ms? Mrs?"

Alicia stared back blankly at the man who began babbling, now beginning to feel a measure of doubt,

"Just call me Alicia, Mr Anderson…."

Hearing this response caused Jerome to chuckle before smiling wearily,

"Just call me Jerome Alicia; Mr Anderson is still in the Matrix."

Hearing this caused Akin to chuckle, but Alicia merely tilted her head; seeing her confusion, the rookie agent explained,

"Mr Anderson is a character played by Keanu Reaves in the Matrix."

This caused the young mother to scratch her head in confusion,

"I thought Keanu Reeves played Neo in The Matrix?"

Now Akin felt embarrassed as he coughed lowly before whispering,

"Mum, Neo's name was Anderson while he was still working as a worker in the matrix…."

She turned to him with her brows raised and nose crinkled in distaste,

"What kind of name is Neo Anderson?"

Coughing Akin explained,

"His name is Thomas Anderson, but he is also called Neo, which is an anagram for One."

Seeing that the mother wanted to continue the conversation about the Matrix,

"Yes, well, I am sorry to interrupt Alicia. Can we get back to the meeting?"

Alicia was then somewhat flustered, as her face felt heated while she apologised,

"I am so sorry; what were we talking about?"

Jerome merely nodded with patience,

"No, it's quite alright, Alicia. Now since we are here, we should talk about Akin…."

After saying that, he turned his gaze to the quiet boy,

"Tell me, Akin, do you have any goals? anything you want to accomplish from your career?"

Hearing this question, Akin pondered how to answer before finally deciding to answer bluntly,

"I want to be the best player in the world. No, the greatest of all time."

After hearing this answer, Jerome was not surprised somewhat; he was relieved.

As a sports fan, he felt this was the attitude any athlete should have, but he continued to pry,

"Are there any specific teams you wish to play for?"

Akin shook his head firmly,

"In this life, I will only play for Arsenal. If I cant play in Arsenal, then I won't play in the Premier League."

As both parties locked eyes, Jerome saw the boy's confidence and felt his smile becoming more genuine.

His shoulders shook, and soon his laughter filled the cafe, ignoring the stares from nearby tables.

In his mind, Jerome Anderson had only one thought amusedly,

This kid, is a bit interesting.
