Mini Chapter: Another Burden

It was the Same old work I had to do, my dog was getting sick, my siblings had to be taken care of, and today was the day I was supposed to get promoted. But I wasn't , it was a crappy day, the rain drops soaked my hair and all I heard was silence. It took me a while to walk home since everyone was at work. But approaching my porch, I saw a girl back turned facing the door, with something in her hand, an envolpe maybe? "Hey", I shouted in my deep voice, but she still didn't turn around. I ran up the steps and put my hand on her shoulder and made her face me. Her face was pale, and she had been soaking wet, she looked scared and whimpered "Here".

She handed me the soaked folded piece of paper. I could barley see it but when I squinted hard enough , the words I saw shook me to the very core.

The only words I could say while shaking was "You.Inside.Now".

I pulled the door open and took of my shirt while pushing her inside, I then saw the laundry basket in the corner and threw a shirt to her, she didn't take it, all she did was quiver and then she started to cry.

I panicked, and yelled "Shit, Shit, Shit, Gavin's going to be home any minute now". I took my pants off in the corner puting a pair of Nike Shorts on. I looked back at the girl and she was on the floor. I ran over to her and removed her clothes, and turned on the heater, she was breathing, but she had a fever. I then put on my sisters yellow sweatshirt on her and removed her soaking wet pants. And gave her grey shorts ,which were mine, she panted like hell, and she coughed ,barley conscious.

I picked her up and put her on the couch, I then warmed up warm water and put a rag on her forehead. As soon as I did that, the keys in the door rattled, "Shit",I whispered.

Her eyes twitched as the door opened. My sister stepped inside the room, and after her came Gavin, my relief was false. He pushed my sister aside and yelled "Who the fuck is--

"She gave me a letter, Birth Mom is dead".
