Chapter 7

When the bus reached the last stop, only Mingyun and the man were left. The man had secretly contacted his friends to wait for an ambush.

Mingyun didn't notice his unusual behavior, and even if she did, she would not care. She only wanted to find a place to sleep and eat her dinner quickly. She began to fantasize about what delicious food awaited her and happily carried her things and left the bus after paying the fare. The dumpling she ate this afternoon had already been digested, and her stomach was craving meat and rice. "Braised pork, here I come!" She said under her breath and skipped, whistling a tune on the way.

The man followed her and typed something in his phone. A few minutes later, when Mingyun was near a dark corner, she sensed several people's presence and stopped.

"Would you look at that? What a cute girl you brought, Brother Niu!" A tall man with a scar on his right eyebrow eyed Mingyun with a nasty look.

"This one has a lot of cash on her! Brother, we're having a big meal tonight!" Mingyun didn't expect that the man she pitied was a wild-eyed wolf as she looked over her shoulder.

His eyes that cried and his voice that pleaded turned different as he showed his real personality.

"Why?" Mingyun asked with confusion. She pitied him and gave him money despite his rude behavior, but what she got in return was a backstab.

"Little girl, just blame your fate. I just happened to bump into you and notice the stack of cash. Hand it over and we'll spare your life." Brother smiled wickedly and took out the knife in his pocket, threatening Mingyun into giving in.

The other hooligans also took out their short knives and gestured them towards Mingyun.

"But it's not yours; Uncle Liu gave it to me." Mingyun replied with a nonchalant expression; in her eyes, these small knives didn't have a tenth of the big snake's menacing aura.

"What a bunch of nonsense!" Brother Niu dashed towards her.

Mingyun stepped to the side, avoided his clumsy footwork, and gave him a light kick in the buttocks, sending him straight towards his companions.

Brother rubbed his aching buttocks, and his face was red from shame. "What are you standing for? Seize her; I'll teach this little girl a lesson!"

The other hooligans regained their senses and quickly ran towards Mingyun while swinging their knives in the air. They were clearly skilled, and Mingyun dodged them without breaking a sweat. The farce continued until the men's wrists were numbed from swinging.

Mingyun's hands were holding a bunch of bags, and only his lower limbs were free. She stood in the center like a king watching his subjects. "Are you done? My turn!" She grinned and gave each a kick in the back, stomach, and buttocks until flowers bloomed.

"You bunch of lousy men. Aren't you ashamed of threatening someone with such skills?"

Brother Nu wasn't spared either, as his face became a swollen pig. The wails and groans coming from them alarmed some people nearby and prompted them to call the police.

Mingyun didn't know trouble was coming until two cars with sirens parked by and raised their guns at them. "Raise your hands, or I'll shoot!"

Brother Niu's gang immediately raised them, even though they were covered with bruises. "Brother Officer, come save us!" Their eyes filled with tears, and with their swollen faces, they looked so comical; however, they didn't care about their image and even crawled towards the officers as if they were their last straw. The police were startled and didn't know how to judge the situation, so he invited them all. Mingyun didn't really know what to do and only raised both hands high above him, lifting the bags in the process.

The officer originally didn't want to bring her along, but when he took out his flashlight and illuminated her feet, Mingyun didn't manage to take her feet back from the hooligan below. The man was unconscious with a foaming mouth.

"You too, put your hand behind your head and slowly come forward." The police beckoned her with a gun.

Mingyun quickly did what he said and walked towards him. Her face had a naive expression. When she was near, the officer coiled the cuffs in her hands. The bags in her hands dropped to the cement floor as a result, and Mingyun picked them up. The officer heard something breaking and only saw two metal rings on the ground near Mingyun's feet. He picked it up, recognized the cuff he put on Mingyun just now, and scratched his head. He didn't bring an extra one, so he let Mingyun in the car without being tied. The cuffs must be faulty, the officer thought, and he put them back.

Seeing Mingyun squeeze in with them, the hooligans pressed their bodies together, sticking to the opposite car door, wanting to distance themselves from her. Mingyun couldn't understand their behavior, but the free space was good for her. She unhurriedly placed the bags on the seat.

The men silently cried in their hearts and blamed Brother Niu for tonight's bad luck.

When the two police cars arrived at the police station, the officers led them in one by one.

When they were questioned, Mingyun happened to be near them, waiting for her turn. The men burst into cold sweats and honestly confessed right away, listing their other crimes. Mama, the beatings really hurt! We'll never do it again! It's so traumatizing. They complained in their hearts as they poured out their confessions one after the other.

The officers never thought it would be so easy and refreshing. They really hoped the criminals would be like these and have the heart to renew. They placed the men in one cell and filed their records, waiting for the court to finalize the decision.

Not long after, it was Mingyun's turn. Mingyun also conveyed the incidents honestly, even telling the officers that she beat them out.

The police officer was shocked at first and never expected her to be quite a fighter despite her small stature, but seeing the evidence, they accepted it. "Young people should be like you, young lady!"

The officers praised her and asked her for an identification card.

"What's that?" Mingyun tilted her head.

The officer showed his identification cards, making Mingyun shake her head.

"How old are you then?" The officer continued.

"I'm 17 years old," Mingyun replied.

"What's your name?" The officer asked again.

"Fei Mingyun." Mingyun replied again.

The officer input her name into the database and found no match after a long time.

Not long after, Mingyun was looking through the grills of the cell she was in and eyeing those men opposite her who had caused her to be detained. She grasped the bars with irritation, bending them in the process.

The men arrested opposite them gulped and felt they were on death row.

Mingyun felt her stomach rumble in protest and eyed the men again. Her things were confiscated, and even the snacks her Master gave her weren't spared. "I'm hungry." The bars were twisted further.

The men quickly made noises in order to attract the attention of the officers outside. "Officer! Save us!"

"Be quiet!" Mingyun warned them, not in the mood to hear their voices. It just keeps reminding her that she has not eaten yet.

The men quickly put their hands over their mouths and prevented even their breathing sounds from coming out. They have never been so obedient, even to their parents.
