22 Scarlet Ghosts and the Netherlamp Behemoth
They never imagined that the area within the barrier would be such a mysterious world.
Itachi said, "This is similar to the Heavenly Sacred Border. This should be a space that a certain supreme expert created."
Taking a look at the stone array, he realized that it was dull and did not emit any luster. There are several stone compartments that were originally meant to have something placed inside but they were completely empty.
They should be the Stones of Light. They have to search for Stones of Light, place them back into the compartments in order to send them back.
Guji Guji
Suddenly, a monkey-like creature appeared from far away. It doesn't have any hair on his body, it's skin is scarlet in colour. It has sharp pointy ears, short arms but long and slender claws, and bulging eyes were like a couple of blue jewels that were blooming with faint light.
That creature looked at the group's direction and shouted, "Guji! Guji!"
A moment later, several more creatures appeared from the wilderness, staring at Itachi and bunch.
Seeing this scene, Itachi suddenly felt a little excited. He turned towards Ning'er, Ziyun and Lanruo and said, "This is a Scarlet Ghost, seems there are too many here. Good! Since the expedition you girls didn't have any other chance for combat, you can train here for a while."
"What's a Scarlet Ghost?"
The girls were stunned for a moment; however, seeing Itachi's excited expression, they immediately understood that Itachi was planning to use these beasts as grinding tools for them.
Itachi knew that the girls were already at 2 or 3 star gold rank, so these guys weren't a large threat to them.
Woosh, woosh, woosh!
"Guji! Guji!" The Scarlet Ghosts seems to have been provoked. They were frantically screaming and jumped towards the group.
The Scarlet Ghost is only a Silver ranked demon beast. It got its name from its ugly appearance. Though the Scarlet Ghost is only 1-star Silver rank, creatures like the Scarlet Ghost loves to hang out in hordes. The Scarlet Ghost from before is calling for more of its companion. Seems, they would be surrounded by hundreds or even thousands of Scarlet Ghosts, which would be extremely frightening.
Itachi just watched as the girls kept on killing the Scarlet Ghosts, due to the sheer amount of the Scarlet Ghosts, the girls had already integrated with their demon spirits.
"Guji Guji." One after another Scarlet Ghosts were leaping out from the grass, and came towards Itachi.
Seeing the growing numbers of the Scarlet Ghosts, Itachi mumbled "there's no end to these guys, Lanruo is practically uncatchable, while Ning'er just turns them to ash and my god Ziyun, she's just standing there and just keeps freezing them which are in her range." He took his katana from the sheath and swung it towards the Scarlet Ghost without taking his eyes off the girls.
Pshh! Pshh!
Fresh blood splattered around the area.
Two Scarlet Ghosts were instantly killed by Itachi.
Creak Creak
Another series of screams came over as several other Scarlet Ghosts were killed by the girls.
These Scarlet Ghosts are creatures of 1-star Silver rank, yet, they were helplessly slaughtered by Itachi and his girls attacks.
"Itachi, what's going on? These Scarlet Ghost seem to be endless, do you know how annoying it is to keep killing them one after another, they're not even putting up a fight." Lanruo said, bored.
Itachi's brows were tightly knitted together. If they were to continue on, they would fall into an endless group fight, but these guys are too weak. Although the strength of the girls are superior to these Scarlet Ghosts, this shouldn't be so easy to be able to fend off all of them. Seems he underestimated the girls strength when they integrate with their demon spirits.
Itachi sighed, and said "Well, seems my wives are really strong, let's move on then." He lead the group while killing the Scarlet Ghosts.
After some time, "Itachi, look! There's a light." Ziyun said, pleasantly surprised.
In the distant plains, there's a lamp that was swaying about from the wind. Although it's drizzling and a little misty, the light was not extinguished.
"There's someone living here?" Ning'er confusingly frowned her brows.
Itachi didn't think he would meet the Netherlamp Behemoth, suddenly, he was struck by an idea. Itachi suddenly stopped turning towards the girls with a smile and said to the girls, "It's a Netherlamp Behemoth! Since you feel that the Scarlet Ghosts weren't a good opponent, why don't you girls practice with him. "
"What's a Netherlamp Behemoth?" asked Ning'er.
"Netherlamp Behemoths are extremely frightening creatures. It's forehead would hang a lamp that it uses lure its prey. When you get close to it, it'll suddenly open its mouth and completely swallow the prey." Itachi said, "It's sharp teeth can easily crush a rock. This is a demon beast of at least Gold rank."
Hearing Itachi's explanation, the girl's hearts trembled. They never thought that that light would be such a frightening creature. If they carelessly approached it, the consequences would be disastrous. What kind of shitty place is this? There was a crisis with every step!
Itachi continued to frantically kill the Scarlet Ghosts. The amount of Scarlet Ghosts chasing them has already amounted to thousands and the number was growing as time goes by.
"No way! I'm not gonna fight that thing." Declared Lanruo.
"Why?" asked Itachi confused.
"Didn't you just say that it's a terrifying demon beast?"
"Although it's a terrifying demon beast, the Netherlamp Behemoth's movements are very slow. You would only be in danger if you approach it. In this world, one subdues another. There are so many Scarlet Ghosts, yet the Netherlamp Behemoth is living just fine. The Netherlamp Behemoth is most likely the nemesis of the Scarlet Ghost. Go test yourselves against it. I believe this is the first time you're facing a gold ranked demon beast." Itachi said.
Ning'er was the first to integrate her demon spirit and rushed toward the Netherlamp Behemoth, she unleashed a lightning towards, the lightning was so bright it lit up the entire place. Ziyun integrated her Ice Pheonix and let out a icy roar, which seemed to freeze everything in it's path and Lanruo with her Shadow Devil directly disaapeared and appeared behind it, transforming one of her arms into sharp blades she slashed towards it.
Itachi kept an eye on the girls, while killing the Scarlet Ghosts stopping them from interfering with their fight.
As the fight continued, Itachi pitied the Netherlamp Behemoth, it practically was sentenced to death. Taking it's slow movements as their advantage, the girls practically toasted it with lightning, cooled it with ice and made it bleed with the sharp bladed of the Shadow Devil.
Suddenly, the Netherlamp Behemoth also disappeared into the shadows, several scarlet red tongues appeared from within the darkness, and coiled around the Scarlet Ghosts. The Scarlet Ghosts screamed miserably and were pulled by those long tongues, disappearing into the darkness.
Guji! Guji!
The Scarlet Ghosts that were left behind were all horrified by the scene and ran in all directions. Shrieks filled the skies as they scattered.
A huge demon beast slowly showed itself within the dark night. Its body's as tall as a mountain, giving others a suffocating feeling. It has a huge head that appeared to be extremely horrifying. Its huge mouth is large enough to swallow a small mountain. Within its large mouth, there are thousands of scarlet tongues. These tongues can shoot out quickly, coil around its prey and feed on them. Although these tongues are only as thick as an arm, they are extremely tough, making them hard to cut. Even if they are chopped off, the Netherlamp Behemoth can grow out countless tongues in an instant.
Itachi smirked and thought 'Now the real game starts girls, let's see how you do'.
The Scarlet Ghosts were quickly coiled up by the tongues and then swallowed by the Netherlamp Behemoth.
The Scarlet Ghosts are the prey of the Netherlamp Behemoth.
The Scarlet Ghosts scattered in all directions. Suddenly, someone screamed. Ziyun was captured by one of those tongues.
"Ziyun!" Ning'er and Lanruo instantly shouted.
Ziyun was feeling extremely uncomfortable, the sticky long tongues firmly coiled onto her right arm and chest, causing her to feel a little suffocated. A rancid smell blew towards Ziyun, causing her eyes to turn a little dull. This smell seems to be mixed with some sort of hallucinatory substance. Ziyun struggled a little, then felt her body weaken. She instantly froze the tongue, freed herself and looked towards Itachi with hatred.
Seeing Ziyun glaring at him, Itachi just chuckled and ignored her. He knew what she meant 'how can you let the girls fight against such a ugly and disgusting beast?'
