Daphne returned to the alliance shortly after, her members were given some time off. The researchers and the captain had a lot to talk about, so they remained for a few more days.
"So you're telling me a new researcher decoded a way to tell if a crystallizer ruin is active. We have been exploring these ruins for years, but he figured it out on his first exploration."
A middle-aged man pinched his creased forehead to relieve himself of tension. He continued, "Not only did he discover the secret to their defenses, but he also figured out a way to handle simulating crystals. Those damned orbs that have been a pain in the ass since day one!"
"Yes, sir, that is correct!" Captain Ji responded to the man.
"His name is Bian. If I recall correctly, he just graduated from the Alliance Central Military Academy," the middle-aged man asked.
With an affirmative nod from Captain Ji, the middle-aged man continued, "The incident with the space pirates is a fault from our end. Once the official reports are recorded, you and your crew can expect a well-deserved break."
"Yes, sir!" Captain Ji gave a military salute.
Bian gave a detailed summary on all that transpired while he was on the planet. He wrote down his experience on identifying the different types of security systems put in place.
After this was done, Bian was asked to give a detailed explanation of the various items he hypothesizes can be used for tricking simulating crystals and the reasons for his assumptions. After filling in that information among various others, he was finally free to go home.
Back home, Bian checked his account balance. 41 trillion dollars and rising. He had enough money to buy a medium-sized planet and still be rich.
"Should I just pick a path and see it through all the way?" Bian had been stuck on the island in the sanctuaries for several months. He needed a way to connect with the rest of the sanctuaries, as the island was only surrounded by ordinary and primitive creatures.
After the jade crocodile finished its evolution into a berserk sacred-blood beast, Bian didn't feed the black crystal to any other beast soul.
He summoned the beast soul of the jade crocodile for another look. A large pair of marble-white scissors appeared in his hands, their serrated edge could easily snip a person in half.
"Scissors, what a weird weapon," Bian mused to himself. With a beep, his commlink alerted him to a call from Man Tian.
"Yo, my man, Man Tian, what's up?" Bian greeted him.
"Something very good," Man Tian said with a smile. "Can we meet up in person?"
Man Tian was also on planet daylight at the moment. They discussed a bit and decided to meet at a local diner. They went upstairs to the less populated arena, a privilege only for sacred-blood aristocrats.
"I rarely see you smile. Something good must have happened," Bian said as they waited for their food.
After the waiter dropped some fries for both of them, Man Tian spoke in a hushed tone.
"I think I've discovered something amazing." He narrated his story to Bian. His curiosity got the better of him, and he returned to the forest. He found the baby wasp, which had grown into an adolescent.
This yellow and black wasp flew from that area of the forest to a more remote area. He followed the wasp for 4 days. The wasp met up with several smaller and weaker wasps, and they invaded another nest with wasps.
These new wasps were also yellow and black but had very shiny eyes. One wasp was stung by this bright-eyed wasp, and it had a glow on its body. Man Tian almost thought of fleeing until he noticed a small hole behind the wasps, a cave full of eggs was in this hole.
After the abnormally strong wasps went out of range, he summoned his berserk sacred-blood armor and dived into the nest. No other wasp could harm him with their stingers.
He smashed dozens of primitive and mutant eggs. The few sacred-blood eggs he smashed, he carried along. As Man Tian was about to exit, his arm crushed some eggs on the wall.
He heard a peculiar notification of gaining a super beast soul. Bian knew it was just a matter of time until others found out about super creatures. He waited for Man Tian to finish his story.
Man Tian picked up that particular crushed egg and escaped from the nest and ran back to the shelter. Ever since then, he never had a difficult hunt. The beast soul of the wasp was a single nail guard. Any being struck by this nail guard could be tracked by Man Tian no matter how far they were from him.
"What do you think? I've already maxed out my ordinary and primitive geno points. I have enough mutant meat for a month. This meal is on me as a thank you for your help," Man Tian said to Bian.
Bian activated the empirical will and listened to the mystical hymn while formulating a plan. "Can you try out the stinger on me?" Bian said to Man Tian.
Man Tian was puzzled but did it anyway. He summoned a yellow and black finger guard and pierced Bian's arm with it.
Bian tried using everything he had to see if he could trace where the tracker was.
"What did you want to try?" Man Tian asked.
"Actually, I'm stuck on a remote island in the second god sanctuary. I tried to locate the tracker, but nothing worked." Although Bian could easily notice the invisible marker thanks to the dongxuan sutra and could remove it using jadeskin, he couldn't trace the source which would have helped him know which direction to head to off the island.
"Hmm, there has to be a way." As Man Tian and Bian reached a dead end, a call from Han Yan came in.
It had been several days since Bian spoke to Han Yan. She had been in the sanctuaries all this while.
"I killed a sacred-blood crab. It was protecting a mermaid spirit. I managed to obtain ownership of this spirit, but you'll never guess what this mermaid spirit's shelter is," Han Yan said in excitement.
"Is it a crystal boat?" Bian said in a monotonous voice.
Han Yan "..."
Han Yan knew she had only herself to blame for such a blunder. Bian had always known about more things than he was supposed to, it was one of his charms.
With less enthusiasm, she spoke, "Yeah, it's a crystal boat. It can even travel underwater and is indestructible according to the spirit."
Bian and Man Tian looked at each other with a knowing smile. They both began to laugh like little children who finally knew the answer to a problem nobody could solve.
