Is Sect Master Still Alive?

The white spiritual ship descended upon a vast, open space within the White Moon Sect.

Its arrival a spectacle against the backdrop of the majestic buildings and the surrounding landscape.

Walking out of the ship, the newly recruited disciples were  awestruck by their surroundings. Their eyes drawn to rows of towering cliffs, shrouded in mist, that encircled the area.

They gathered in front of the ship, awaiting the arrival of the acting sect master, who would make further arrangements for them.

Yun Yune, stepping forward, addressed the disciples.

"The White Moon Sect boasts nine peak masters. However,  only five of them accept disciples. You have a week to freely explore our sect and decide which peak master you wish to study under."

Yun Yune continued, "Unlike other sects, we do not divide our disciples into inner and outer sects. However, exceptional disciples with great potential may be chosen as direct disciples by the Elders of our sect."

A wave of relief washed over the new disciples. They wouldn't be confined by the rigid hierarchy of other sects, where constant striving for advancement often consumed their time and limited their growth. The pressure to raise their ranks for better cultivation resources was lifted, freeing them to focus on their training and reaching their full potential.

"All of you follow Senior Meng Bu, who will provide you with accommodation room and identification jade token!"

"Lu Feng and Fang Qi, you two can stay behind for now."

As other disciples walked ahead, Lu Feng and Fang Qi walked over to Yun Yue, as guilty criminals who had committed a great crime.

"Do you know why I asked the two of you to stay behind?" asked Yun Yue.

The duo, well aware of their deeds, promised not to repeat such mistakes, and they swore to behave well during their time in the sect.

Yun Yue didn't kick them out of the sect for leaking the examination question because those questions were 12 years older.

She looked at them with supries. The trio had exception spiritual roots, each surpassing the others.

She thought for a moment and said, "Fang Qi, your pure yang spiritual root is a rare gift. Second Elder Tian, the Peak Master, is renowned for his knowledge of yin and yang. You may choose him as your master."

Turning to Lu Feng, she continued, "Your dual Healing Sword spiritual root is truly remarkable. The five peak elders cannot offer you the guidance you require. But our Sect Master, a sword cultivator herself, will accept you as her fifth direct disciple."

Lu Feng stared at Yun Yue, utterly bewildered. While Fang Qi was granted a choice, he, Lu Feng, was being thrust into service under the Sect Master, regardless of his wishes.

The realization struck him with chilling force: Yun Yue could dictate the Sect Master's decisions!

Discipleship was a sacred bond, a decision of immense consequence for any grand cultivator. Yet Yun Yue's decision made Lu Feng felt a tremor of fear. He thought that the sect master must agree to accept Yun Yue's decision, even if it went against her own desires.

He vowed never to offend the acting Sect Master.

"Fang Qi, you may rejoin the others. Lu Feng, accompany me to the Destroyed sword peak. You will meet the Sect Master there."

As they parted, Fang Qi's gaze followed Lu Feng, envy burning in his eyes. Lu Feng, was now the direct disciple of the legendary Fairy Jiao, the Sect Master of the White Moon sect!

While little was known about the sect master to the public, her legendary beauty was whispered even amongst the ascetic monks of the Buddhist sect. Fang Qi couldn't help but wonder what Lu Feng had done to deserve such a blessingblessing as he walked away.

Yun Yue conjured a dark purple portal with a wave of her hand, beckoning Lu Feng to walk forward. He was awestruck by her spell!

Who didn't dream of wielding such power and leaving others in their wake? He stepped through the portal, the rush of wind on the other side whipping his hair as he landed on a cliff edge.

A cool breeze brushed his neck, almost like a breath, sending shivers down his spine. Turning, he saw a chasm that stretched into infinity. One wrong step, and he would fall into oblivion, reincarnating in his third life. Terror gripped him, forcing him to scramble forward, afraid to look back.

Yun Yue emerged from the portal, she looked at Lu Feng crawling on the ground.

He clearly needed time to regain his composure. As he continued crawling, he muttered, "It seems one must face the King of Hell before meeting the emperor."

Yun Yue noticed his distress and suddenly realized something. With a look of guilt, She casted a spell to shield him from the chaotic winds of the destroyed peak. It was then she remembered Lu Feng was a mortal. His survival until this point was nothing short of a miracle.

Lu Feng, noticing the transparent shield around him, looked up at Yun Yue and quickly thanked her.

She replied with guilt, "Junior Brother Lu Feng, I forgot you were a mortal before sending you here. I apologize."

With that, she walked towards the majestic palace before them, a structure so grand it that any royal palace Lu Feng had ever seen in his past lives, paled!

Lu Feng didn't notice Yun Yue's blunder, as he was too engrossed in looking at the palace.

They entered the majestic Sect Master Hall, an eerie silence hanging in the air. Not a single living being could be found, sending a shiver down Lu Feng's spine.

In the center of the hall stood a portrait of a woman, her beauty so striking it seemed she could step out of the painting.

"This is the portrait of the White Moon Sect's founding ancestor." Yun Yue explained.

"Every direct disciple of the Sect Master must bow before her and offer incense to complete their disciple ceremony."

Lu Feng followed her, afraid to offend acting Sect master, who held more power than anyone. Together, they took two incense sticks and paid their respects.

After the ceremony, Yun Yue said, "Our Sect Master is currently in seclusion and cannot meet you. However, I will guide you with your cultivation in her stead."

Lu Feng remained silent throughout the introduction.

Yun Yue continued, "From now on, you will reside in the Sect Master Hall. Besides myself, you have two senior sisters and a younger sister."

"I am the first disciple of our master. Your second and third senior sisters are currently traveling out in the world, strengthening their cultivation and seeking opportunities for advancement."

"Your younger sister, like yourself, has not yet begun her cultivation. She is still very young, and our Master cherishes her deeply."

"Your identity jade token and other necessities will be delivered by our junior sister. Is there anything else you wish to know?"

Lu Feng, who had maintained his composure throughout, finally spoke, his voice filled with concern:

"Senior sister Yun yue, is our Sect Master still alive? "
