Unable to find an answer he decided to continue his way. Jonas didn't think to look for an answer either, when he was back who would believe him? Was a thigh pierced by a stalagmite fully healed in three days by a magic stone? He'd be admitted to the nearest mental institution as soon as he said that.
It wasn't long before he found the way out, with a better physical condition he was able to walk the path faster.
However, as soon as it came out by the opening an unbelievable sight emerged. He was in a forest, but not one with the vegetation he knew from his region, it looked like a forest of some temperate region. Certainly, this type of forest is not common in Brazil.
'Where the hell am I ?'
Bewildered, Jonas thought about what was happening.
'Clearly I lost part of my memory.'
It was the only explanation he could have found. He should have gotten to this place somehow, not dragged by the river, he'd come here by himself or been brought in. There's a time lapse.
Anyway, there was nothing he could do about it, he needed to find civilization fast to get out of here. So, he decided to find a high place where he could locate himself. If he found a river it would make it easier, he would follow the shore, there are always humans near rivers.
The cave from which he had left was at the foot of a high hill, possibly he could see above the treetops at the top of it. So, he decided to climb it.
It didn't take long for Jonas to find a part of the hill easier to climb and began his ascent. He had thought that would be difficult because his lack of skills in climbing, but he succeeded in no time.
'Have I always been that skilled?'
As soon as he reached his goal and looked at the surrounding area, he was shocked.
All he saw was forest, until the end of the Horizon, nothing more, and even worse, there's no river, no sign of civilization either. He had been in the heart of a wild world.
'Oh, my God! I'm going to die in this place!'
Jonas had lost all hope, he had never needed to survive in extreme conditions so the fact that he was still alive is almost a miracle, for he knew how to hunt or seek water. The only thing that could help is his medical knowledge and fight skills, but in this place, anything can kill you in an instant, that wolf was proof of that. There was no hope.
He then remained in that place, sitting, watching the endless green of the forest. He was engrossed in thoughts, trying to find a way to escape his destiny, wanted more than anything to survive. As time went by the sun set on the horizon, Jonas had not yet stirred a muscle from this then, until he saw a pale blue glow among the trees several miles away, it would have been almost imperceptible if he had not spent all day observing the forest very carefully.
'They could be people! No, they have to be people, what else would give such a distinct glow?'
'The logical thing is that people were camping in the forest, and so there's no guarantee that they'll stay there tomorrow, in fact, it's likely they're just passing through the region'.
Jonas made up his mind, he needed to get to that place before dawn, no matter how.
It´s a walk of at least ten hours through an unknown dark forest, with probable nocturnal predators. However, there was no other option, it was his only hope of escaping this place alive.
He wasted no time, tried to trace a route as accurate as possible to that bluish light, then came down from the hill and began his walk.
Luckily, the pitch of the night in a forest wasn't so bad, at least he could see a few meters ahead, unlike when he was in the cave. In addition, Jonas had a slight impression that his vision had improved.
After two hours of walking, he realized that not only his vision, but his sense of smell and hearing had improved. He could discern by the smell when he was about to enter the territory of a predator and could hear the noise of the beasts sneaking through the trees. This allowed him to make deviations or to when necessary to avoid these dangers.
'Apparently, this walk would be quieter than I expected.'
When he walked for four hours, he decided to climb a tree to make sure he hadn't left the course much. He choice on one that appeared to be taller than the others, the large and thick branches also facilitated climbing.
Up there he realized that he had yes diverted a kilometer to the east, but it was not so serious, he could still get there in time. After charting a new course, he began to descend from the tree.
However, when he was in the middle, he heard a deck, a strong tread. When his eyes find the source of the disorder, he was in shock.
It was a tiger, but a giant tiger, the size of a horse, and what was most shocking is that it had two horns.
'What fuck is that monstrosity thing?!'
The animal growled down there, then looked up, put his paws on the tree as if he wanted to climb, but eye went down and just prowling the area.
'It's looking for me.', he thought in shock.
