"Hmmpph!" Xaen snorted, his frustration boiling over as he clenched his fist and unleashed a powerful blow. Will's body convulsed with searing pain, his breath stolen from him in an instant. Gasping for air, he clutched his chest, the ache throbbing relentlessly.

"Come on, let's go," Xaen muttered, his voice laced with guilt, as he briskly retreated, his steps hurried and anxious. He had struck harder than he intended. The sight of Will's suffering had pierced through his anger, compelling him to swiftly abandon the scene.

Will let out a weary sigh, his frustration simmering beneath the surface as he pushed himself upright. A surge of anger coursed through his veins, threatening to consume him. With a clenched fist, he dug his fingers into the earth, flames erupting from his hands in a fiery display of his inner turmoil.

Despite his body quick regeneration, his health points remained stagnant, refusing to rise to a level that would grant him respite. He knew he had no choice but to remain still, patiently waiting for the passage of time to bring about a significant increase in his vitality.

The recent confrontation had served as a stark reminder of the ever-present necessity for strength. Will rose to his feet, a determined glint in his eyes as he ventured further into the depths of the forest. He had made up his mind - it was time to embark on a hunt.

The forest, known for housing a variety of basic-tier beasts used by students for training, beckoned to him. Will's mind raced with thoughts of the battle he had just endured. With a resounding thud, he brought his combined force crashing down upon the beast's skull, the impact reverberating through the forest. The creature's skull cracked under the immense pressure, a testament to Will's unwavering determination and raw power.

The experience points gained wasn't that much since he was above their level.His strength had far surpassed that of a basic tier beast, and he was able to defeat them easily.

The shadow bulls, formidable creatures of the basic tier, possessed an impressive endurance that compensated for their sluggishness. Their slow movements were shielded by their formidable defense, making them a force to be reckoned with.

As they charged at him, driven by a primal instinct to avenge their fallen comrade, Will swiftly leaped towards the next beast, dispatching it with a calculated strike. Without his weapon, he relied solely on his fists and honed abilities, his movements fluid and precise. In a matter of minutes, he had effortlessly taken down the five shadow bulls, their once formidable presence reduced to mere lifeless bodies strewn across the battlefield. He made quick work collecting the crystals.

His exp had been doubled due to it being the first time he completed a system quest. 'Let's see the skill,' he said to himself as he summoned the skill bar.

Will dispelled the system as he prepared himself for his next hunt. Although the experience point he got was meagre, he still decided to carry on. After wandering for a while, he spotted some group of shadow bulls again. This time around, it was a large group of shadow bulls about 12.

In the midst of the wilderness, Will's keen eyes scanned the surroundings, his mind racing with calculated thoughts. A group of beasts stood before him, their massive forms resting under the large trees within the forest. "Beasts don't typically move together in such large numbers... unless..." A flicker of realization sparked within him, as he delved deeper into his observations, determined to uncover the truth behind this extraordinary phenomenon.

Deciding to test his new ability, he activated it, his gaze slowly moving from beast to beast.

Scanning through, he finally found what he was looking for. Within their rank was an intermediate beast. Its size nearly twice its subordinates with hides thick and a darker shade than its kin. With a plan etched in his mind, Will moved silently towards the beasts.

Although the forest was used in breeding basic tier beasts, it wasn't uncommon for an intermediate beast to be among their ranks. Beasts can evolve by killing and eating another beast, absorbing its crystal.

The beast let out a roar, sensing his presence. Without wasting much time, he charged towards the fray. Breathing deeply, he started drawing energy from his newly formed core. During the little scuttle between him and Xaen, he had been unable to delve into his core.

He summoned the energy, activating his abilty. His fist and legs were covered in flames, spreading down to his elbow.

Kicking off the dust, Will shot towards the incoming horde. His hand emitting a feiry glow, and he punched out, sending a pulse of energy towards the intermediate beast.

The beast roared in pain, crashing onto the ground. Will easily weaved through the horde, as he edged closer to the beast aiming to finish it.

He swung his hand, penetrating into its skull, with blood splattering round. He brought out his hands, holding a crystal, which was emitting a soft glow. All these he did within seconds.

The beasts seeing their leaders dead roared in fury. "Bring it on," Will taunted as he charged amidst them. Each swing of his hand brought about a spurt of blood. Within minutes, he had taken care of all the beasts.

Will energy point had risen back, while he rested back then. But the fight had taken a little amount off. Collecting the beast crystal, he decided to edge deep into the forest.

The night sky shone brightly as he navigated through the dense forest, hunting down beasts. By the time the sun rose, he had taken down a large number of beasts.

He walked out of the forest with a large grin etched on his face. I'm coming for you Xaen, he said with a strange glint.

The dorm was empty as everyone had gone for the holiday. This was his sixth month in the academy, and he had grown compared to before. He never thought he would be able to heal his core. But here he was, with a new core and his body coursing with newfound power.

With a short knock, he stood back, waiting for a response.

Come in! He pushed the door opened walking into the cosy office. Commander Parker sat in a chair behind a large desk filled with paper. His head was slightly creased as he stared intently at a piece of paper he held.

"Will! Good to see you," he said, dropping the paper along with the rest.

"I'm here for my assessment score for the mid test." Will said, heading straight to the point.

The commander sighed softly. "The military has decided to accept you into their ranks." He said, slowly observing Will for a reaction.
