When she awoke

Emily's hand instinctively moved to the relic around her neck. It pulsed faintly, as if responding to his words. The idea had merit, but the relic's power was unpredictable. She wasn't sure if she could control it again, let alone wield it effectively. The last time she had tapped into its energy, the raw surge had nearly overwhelmed her. 

She remembered the way the dark force had recoiled, as if fearing the relic's presence. But the cost… her strength had drained so quickly, leaving her vulnerable, exposed. Now, with the entity's approach once again imminent, they needed a plan that would either contain the force or destroy it outright. Marcus's idea to lure the entity into a trap seemed like their best option, but it required them to trust in the relic once more.

"Emily, you're the only one who can do this," Marcus said, his voice steady but soft. "We'll be there to protect you, but we need that power. It's the only thing that's hurt this thing before."
