Whitecastle

'Elysium' was perfected by 'Einstein', with its knowledge of all the myths and games that mankind had ever developed. The game had the settings of a Xianxia novel. The players were given a 'system' which was based on cultivation levels to power up.

The game had a story line that was built from the countless myths and xianxia novels that existed. There was a rumor floating around that 'Einstein' was also one of the 'Immortal Realm' masters that were supposedly staying in the game. But, no one had any proof of this. The most that man had ever leveled up to was 'Sky Realm'.

Border Town was a small city located in the Eastern Continent. Roland's safehouse was his bedroom in his little castle on top of the hill. It stood overlooking most of 'Border Town'. His avatar walked to the balcony. He looked out and smiled at his progress.The white city wall stood magnificently surrounding 'Border Town'.

It was built of some high grade stone deposit found in the mines located near Islmar mountains. Islmar mountains were the Western most boundary of Whitecastle Empire. It was said that there was a giant Spirit Realm demon that was sleeping there, since before the second Era.

Beyond that was the Dark Ocean, with its scary, lurking sea demons.

The humans had started coming in during the first days of the Fourth Era. This was when the story line had started in the 'Elysium' game. The first players were introduced in this environment. The happenings of the First and Second and Third Era's was a mystery.

There was only the destruction that was left after the ' Great War' at the end of the Third Era. The power houses of the Eastern and Western continents had battled for 99 years. Most of the records with respect to the war and the period before that had been destroyed.

Only the cause of the war was known, it was fought by the 'Sky Realm' masters for the 'World Scroll', which would enable the bearer to become the world master. This was the 'Einsteins' key'. It was said that each Era would see the 'World Scroll' appear at random in the 'Dark Ocean' separating the continents .

There would be events across the continents that would signal the appearance of the scroll. The players could only level up until then.

The Fourth Era started with the players, of 'Mortal Realm' starting to join various schools in the 'Eastern Continent'. But, there were entrance tests for these and they were pretty tough.

All players started in the 'Mortal realm'. But, they had starting classes which could be randomly assigned when their character was created. Roland was lucky enough to have a character, that was born as a prince of the Kingdom of Whitecastle. He had a class 'Noble' in the game system.

The Whitecastle Emperor was a mystery. The people only said that he had disappeared during the Great War at the end of the 'Third Era'. There were three players who were spawned as the children of the mysterious king. They were Clark, Roland and Anita. Clark and Anita were from different regiments and teams.

Roland had joined the 'Spiritsword Sect'.

Clark had joined the 'Cloud Immortal Sect'. Anita had joined the 'Shadow Sect'. The sects would guide only until one reached 'Mortal Realm' Level 9. Then they had to go out into the world to gain experience and farm monsters to raise Exp.

The leveling up to 'Profound Realm' required the players to undergo a quest. There were different paths on which one could advance with different quests. Roland had completed the 'Swordsman' quest.

Since he was a Noble, he could govern his own territory. The Witches Team, were helping him in looking after the territory. Nightingale had completed the Assassin quest and she was in charge of his personal security. This way they could be together and watch each other's backs.

Since, there were three siblings, there was a quest which appeared on the three siblings' quest window once all 3 had advanced to Profound Realm.

' Advance to Spirit Realm within 24 months.

Territory will be assigned to Clark, Roland and Anita.

The best territory, as decided by the 'Ironwood Druid' at the end of the quest period.

The winner will get 500,000 Exp , 50,000 gold and...

be crowned 'Emperor of Whitecastle'. '

Did this mean that the mysterious old Emperor had really died? No one knew.

Becoming 'Emperor of Whitecastle' came with a lot of perks. The crown gave the owner the power to control the legendary 'White Army'. This was said to be a force of powerful 'Profound Realm' level 5 metal soldiers. They were lying dormant in the Whitecastle city.

They would only awaken if a threat was detected to Whitecastle, else continue their eternal slumber until the new 'Emperor commands them.

Roland, to his misery, had found that he had been assigned to 'Border Town', a mediocre town at the Western border of the Whitecastle Empire. He had successfully built the wall before the 'Months of the Demons'. The 3 months long winter was approaching Eastern Continent.

The winter months were named as Months of the Demons because the minor demons, most active during winter, would rush into the border towns during the winter looking for prey.

It was 1 month since the challenge started. One month till winter started. Roland was 'Profound Realm' Level 1. He had started fixing 'Border Town' to get through this winter safe. He needed to level up. This was insufficient if he wanted to get the crown of Whitecastle.

Somewhere in Mumbai. A highly classified facility of the Indian cyber corps.

A tall, dusky skinned beauty was tying up her hair in a bun. She was calmly looking at a poster in her room. It was a twenty-five something youth with blue eyes. Looking at it made her feel depressed. She knew that no matter the past, she had to login to 'Elysium'.

She then picked up the 'Link' on her bed and wore it. She said

"Link start".
