After eating the dinner inside Gabriel's room, the couple laid down on the bed.
Eveline snuggled in his warmth, the tension in her muscles slowly easing.
"You think Mom warned me because she didn't wanted me to judge dad?" she asked, her voice low and soft.
"Maybe. It's only she who can tell us." Gabriel responded caressing her hair until her eyelids turned heavy, and she slowly drifted to sleep.
Gabriel was wide awake, his mind replying the scene when they confronted Jonathan.
He was so smooth with his words that they believed him without any second thought.
However now with everything once again back to square one, he realized there had been so many instances for them to doubt Jonathan despite him trying his best to mould them into his lie.
