Transmigrated into a Side Character

The night on Earth was serene, the stars silently winking in the vastness of space.

In the small room where Damien lay fast asleep, an inexplicable event unfolded.

*Vroom!*

Without warning, a tiny black hole materialized, voraciously swallowing Damien and everything in its path.

In seconds, it grew exponentially, consuming the entire planet and stretching its insatiable reach into the depths of the solar system.

The universe itself seemed on the brink of collapse when, in a burst of blinding light, two mighty figures materialized.

"What sort of anomaly is this?" Asked one of them.

"Hmm, this aura...it looks like..." Another spoke as 'he' looked into the eyes of the other.

"Dark Eternal Abyss!" They exclaimed at the same time with a bit of shock laced in their tone.

At their realm there are very few things that could stir up their emotions.

Emotions, the six desires. Things that they have shed long ago when they put off their mortality and entered into immortality.

But the significance of the black hole before them warrants such a change in their expressions.

This was because anything that had to do with the abyss concerns the entire universe.

"But why would a fragment of the abyss appear here."

"That's not important right now. We need to return things to order here and take back this fragment to study."

"Hmm, this would damage a bit of our divinity."

"I know, we just didn't expect that it wasn't any average anomaly that appeared this time. But nevertheless we can't shrink from our responsibility."

Their power surpassed comprehension as they effortlessly halted the black hole's expansion.

With a wave of their hands, time itself rewound, restoring the solar system, Earth, and its inhabitants.

The memory of the cataclysmic event erased from every mind, except for one.

Unknown to the benevolent figures, Damien's soul lingered in the void, and it did not return with their rewinding of time.

"Let's go. The council must be informed of this immediately."

*Swoosh!*

As the universe resumed its normalcy, Damien's consciousness awoke slowly.

Along with the opening of his eyes came a mild pain in his headache.

"Argh...what happened? Wait... who's speaking?!"

"This....this isn't how I sound..." At this time he noticed.

His voice was like that of a kid. But how can that be, he is over 18 years old and has already developed his masculine deep voice, so what the hell is this weak sound!

"Wait a minute, that isn't the only thing that's wrong..."

"Where am I?" He asked no one as he took a good look at his surroundings.

The room was sparsely furnished, sunlight filtering through the cracks in the walls. The style reminded him of a medieval fantasy anime he had previously watched.

Confusion and disorientation gripped Damien as he grappled with the sudden change.

"Argh ...what is..."

Memories flooded his mind—memories that weren't his own but belonged to the orphan Damien.

This was a world of magic cultivation, a realm where power could shape destinies.

"So I... transmigrated?"

"But how can this be possible....am I dreaming?"

"No, this can't be a dream. I know of Earth's deep dive technology and it isn't able to reach this level of realism."

"Aside from that, I had a dream of being inside an extremely chaotic space akin to a black hole. Was that what brought me here?"

"Even if it was, how could I have survived inside a black hole and transmigrate here safely."

Many questions ran through his mind until he eventually calmed down... somewhat.

"Sigh... there's nothing I can do. Even though I feel a bit excited about this new world and its infinite possibilities. I still have attachments to my old world."

'Unfulfilled dreams and goals due to constant procrastination...not asking the girl I like out only to find out she liked me too but it's too late...not graduating from college...'

'Unfinished anime series, games, dreams, goals, etc. Even though I was an orphan, I still have friends who were as close as brothers...and speaking of which...'

Damien suddenly recalled the words of one friend of his, "...Bro if you ever get the chance to get Isekai'd to another world you must remember never reveal your full strength."

Damien remembered he laughed back then at the absurd thought, as he was debating with his friends what they would do if they found themselves in another world.

'That day we spent more than six hours talking seriously as though it would really happen. But who would have thought...'

Damien stood up and sorted out his memories and understood what he had to do.

Moreover for some strange reason he felt the regrets of his past life leaving and as he felt a burden lifted up from his heart.

It almost like the feeling of...

"A fresh start..."

"Since I have another life, I must achieve all the dreams of me and my fellow brothers who never got this chance...hahaha!"

"Saying something so childish all of a sudden. Anyway, I have a goal now... somewhat?"

He was an orphan on earth, and here he is an orphan too. Some things remain the same.

Damien thought with a sigh.

"Become strong and survive... that's all."

But as the years passed Damien discovered how impossible his simple goal was.

Damien, now a mere extra in this world, struggled to find his footing in a world teeming with magical wonders.

The village, his new home, bustled with life as many honed their skills.

Damien, however, lacked the innate talents and remarkable qualities that marked the main characters of this enchanting world.

Twenty years later, at the age of thirty, destiny knocked in the form of a colossal battle between good and evil.

The 'Son of Heaven,' a figure of immense power and importance in this world, clashed with an ancient powerhouse.

*Boom!*

"Dark Sky Hand!"

A colossal dark palm blotted the sky as it slapped downwards towards the same direction where Damien was.

Beneath the palm, a very handsome figure stood in the air, clothes in golden and red amour, with long blonde hair and deep blue eyes with a calm smile on his face.

He drew his sword and whispered a few words, "Light God Heavenly Rend!"

A sword of light collided with the dark palm and sent shockwaves all around that destroyed the surroundings.

"Argh..." A scream of unwillingness echoes from the sky as a figure plummets downward at a fast speed towards a small town.

The earth-shattering aftershocks of their duel left Damien who was close by, battered and half-dead.

"Don't do anything rash, Darkholm!" The young man said as he flew after the figure.

Darkholm whose body was almost destroyed in just one attack rushed for a body and found the lying half-dead body of Damien.

"Yes, this is it!" His soul dived into the body of Damien and found his soul to use as a fuel to activate a technique that will help him to be reborn.

"I don't know what will happen since there isn't a detailed explanation of this technique but any chance is important."

"Who are you! Leave my soul!" Screamed Damien who was already in despair.

"Quiet!" Darkholm shouted and some force held Damien from speaking and unable to resist.

Darkholm began to cast the technique as chants flew and runes formed a complete runic circle that looked like an hour glass.

After this was completed, Damien's soul was dragged and wrapped around Darkholm who was going to use his soul as a shield to undergo rebirth.

Which means that Damien's soul will be destroyed in the process but as the power of the runic circle begins to extract Damien's soul something that had been asleep within him awakened.

*Badum!*

The runic circle began to flow in reverse and an irresistible devouring force began to consume Darkholm's soul.

"What?!...what sort of power is this! Stop! Stop!... I'll go.... please...."

Damien's soul was only semi-conscious during this process as he absorbed centuries of memories and a very pure soul force that nurtured his soul greatly beyond measure and when he was done, he entered into deep slumber and only the runic circle continued spinning.

*Swoosh!*

The circle and Damien's soul suddenly vanished.
