Chapter C - Perilous Return
Marcus stood up as he looked at the defeated Terror Bird. He stepped out from the bushes and brushed himself off, slowly approaching the corpse. As he didn't engage it, there was no notification regarding its defeat, so he was overly cautious.
Paul ran over, breathing heavily, "Sheesh, he sure was a difficult opponent!" He exclaimed.
Marcus rolled his eyes, 'For you maybe...' He thought to himself as he knelt next to the corpse and picked up the limp body. He stood up and handed Paul a set of potions to restore his health, stamina, and mana. "Take these, we must hurry, we're running out of time." He calmly stated as he turned around and began to descend down the mountains.
Paul downed the trio of potions one after another and marveled at how his body felt afterward. He dropped them on the ground as they shattered, chasing after Marcus.
"What do you mean we're running out of time, Sire?" Paul asked as he jogged alongside Marcus' long quick strides.
