Revelation of his grandfather

The following morning, Kito woke up with renewed energy, ready to face the day. He still remembered the revelations from his grandfather the day before, but he had decided not to let himself be overwhelmed by the enormity of the stakes. After all, he was still young and had plenty of time to learn and prepare.

He went down to the kitchen where his parents were preparing breakfast. His mother, Kaliana, greeted him with a warm smile as he came down the stairs. "Good morning, sweetheart. Did you sleep well?"

"Yes, mom. Thank you," replied Kito as he sat at the table.

His father, Darius, placed a bowl in front of him and sat down as well. "So, what do you have planned for today?"

Kito smiled, thinking about his conversation with his grandfather. "I thought I'd go visit Grandpa. He told me he had something for me."

Kaliana nodded, pleased. "That's a good idea, but don't let yourself be influenced too much by him, he's even more reckless than your father !"

After finishing his breakfast, Kito headed to his grandfather's house, located a few dozen meters from theirs, at the end of the garden. Arriving at his grandfather's house, Kito knocked on the door, which opened almost immediately.

The old man stood there, a broad smile on his face. "Ah, Kito! I've been expecting you. Come in."

Kito followed his grandfather inside, where they sat at a small table. After thinking about it all night, he decided to discuss certain topics with his grandfather, including the leveling system, his magic, and everything around it. Although he didn't know him very well, he had decided to trust him, and especially his grandfather, given his level and experience, would be the best person to advise him.

Taking a deep breath, Kito began: "Grandpa, I'd like to ask you some questions about this world and talk about myself."

His grandfather nodded. "I'm listening."

"I don't really understand how this world works, I've never talked about it with Darius and Kaliana. But on my side, when I kill monsters, I gain experience that makes me level up, and at that point, I gain points that allow me to increase the characteristics I want. When I train, it also unlocks new skills or allows me to learn new magic." He decided to keep his personal AI, his interface, and other features of his system a secret.

The old man paused for a long time, and after some thought, said to Kito, "Well, my boy, some people are lucky! As for levels, although we can't see others' or even our own, there are artifacts that can give estimates of everyone's power. However, to increase that power and those characteristics, it remains on our side due to training, numerous battles, and what increases is what we train. Magical affinities are innate and we cannot learn new ones, except in very rare cases involving certain ancient grimoires. For now, you shouldn't talk about this to anyone. The attribute points you gain will make you exceptional in the future. I think that, like us through training, you increase your power, but that this will be complemented by these statistics. You will always evolve twice as fast as everyone else if I am not mistaken."

Kito was surprised, he didn't know exactly how this world worked, but discovering that he had such a great advantage made him happy.

His grandfather spoke again, his gaze intense: "However, Kito, I must warn you. This difference between you and others could attract envy and greed. You will have to be careful and not expose your talents too openly."

Kito nodded, understanding the importance of discretion. "I'll be careful, Grandpa. Thank you for warning me."

"I know I was supposed to give you something, but after what you just told me, give me some time to organize my thoughts and see what could be most useful to you. I'll give you everything in a few days!"

Kito was an impatient person, but he understood. His grandfather simply wanted to help him as best as possible.

The old man then took out an object wrapped in a silky cloth and placed it in front of Kito.

When he opened the package, there was a round sphere. Kito didn't know exactly what it was for.

His grandfather explained: "For now, let me give you this; it will allow you to teleport here in case of trouble. It only works once, but if you encounter a monster too powerful, don't hesitate and crush it between your hands. You will be instantly teleported, allowing you to stay alive. I haven't thought about what I'm going to give you yet; however, I know this will be useful to you." "Especially during your days outside," he said with a wink.

Kito was very happy with everything he had received. After that, he decided to return to the forest. He now had a few potions to restore some of his life and an object that allowed him to teleport. He was much more confident about the future. It was time to continue exploring the forest!

He arrived at the forest. Seeing it, he still felt that pressure, that feeling that filled him with fear deep down. This sensation reminded him not to go too far and risk death. He decided to start by going near his hideout, a place he knew well, and gradually explore further. If possible, he would like to try to find new monsters. But at the edge of the forest, they were rare. He advanced cautiously, going a little further, and marking the path he took so as not to get lost. For now, his sense of direction was not the best, even though he was getting to know the forest better by exploring it.

At that moment, he heard a chilling sound, a blood-curdling noise. A new monster, which he had never seen before, was there, and it seemed quite different from the others he had encountered in the past.
