Chapter 72 : I must sound insane.

Luscious found the way Nectar and Red walked looked similar [ She had cookie crumbs on her face though...cute ] He was surprised by the thought but the bruises on her knuckles interested him more.

[ Why would a prim and proper empress need to do anything and even get hurt in the process? ] Luscious chuckled to himself, ruffling his hair " I'm already losing my mind ".

He casually walked out and saw Nectar. She seemed to be arguing with that knight of hers. Something felt off about him but he wasn't sure. He bowed slightly " It was a pleasure meeting you your highness ".

Nectar smiled politely and gave a small curtsy, " It's been a pleasure to have you Prince Luscious ". Luscious smirked and left [ They even sound the same, we'll just have to take a wild guess but I need proof ]

Archie ran up to him, holding his leg " We were worried about you Uncle Lu ". Luscious smiled, picking him up, " Nice to see someone is enjoying himself ". Archie nodded in agreement, taking a bite of his flower shaped cookie " She's really nice ".

Luscious raised an eyebrow, " You really like the empress huh "? Archie nodded, speaking with his mouth full " She smells nice ". Luscious didn't know what that meant and would rather not.

Archie held out the rest of his cookie up to Luscious' mouth " You should have some, it tastes really good ". Luscious opened his mouth to refuse but Archie stuffed it in his mouth.

Luscious nearly choked on it, almost spitting it out but Archie wagged his little finger at him, " Don't you dare, now chew ". He looked so serious Luscious couldn't help but agree and he swallowed.

[ It doesn't taste awful....so they weren't just sparing her feelings ] " You have another one "? Archie quickly shook his head " Nuh uh. The empress said we could make some more another time ".

Luscious didn't believe that but nodded all the same [ Can't ruin this for him ] Luscious handed him over to Bonsi who didn't seem like her usually chatty self.

Eros had already left to attend to something, leaving Dodwen to show them around. Dodwen had being able to hide the cookies from Eros and now only hoped they could shorten this tour so he could eat in peace.

And his prayers were answered when the women decided it would be best to rest up right now. Luscious and Axis didn't really have much of a choice.

The palace given to them was almost twice as big as Nectar's. It was obvious it was old but that didn't make it any less magnificent. The ivy on the walls covered most of the grey stone underneath and oddly enough, there were pale purple flower in full bloom all over it.

" You look so tired Fay, you should get some rest ". Luscious spoke with concern as they stepped in. Fay frowned, swatting away the hand on her shoulder " I have no idea what you're up to but it won't work ". Luscious smiled innocently, " Come on Fay, have a little faith ".

Fay looked at Lucy who just shrugged and stretched, " You guys can do whatever you want. I need a catnap ". So Lucy and Bonsi went into the palace. Fay sighed, wagging her finger at the obedient looking Luscious, " No shenanigans, no pranks and no leaving the palace unsupervised ".

Luscious' mouth twitched as he forced himself not to retort [ Can't let her go reporting me to father ] " Of course Fay, I'll be here when you're out ".

Fay nodded skeptically and moved back towards the palace, keeping an eye on him " You better behave, and no trouble making ". Luscious nodded in agreement but his fake smile dropped immediately Fay disappeared into the palace.

He turned around and saw Axis eating a sword shaped cookie. Luscious glared at him and Axis held out the rest of the cookie to Luscious, " You want some, it tastes pretty good ". Luscious glanced at Axis then the cookie, snatching it and eating it.

Axis couldn't help but chuckle, " Didn't think you'd take it ". Luscious raised an eyebrow, " Why would you think that "? Axis shrugged, walking towards one of the trees in the courtyard " You didn't seem to like her ".

Luscious kicked the grass in front of him, " And you do "? Axis nodded, " Yeah actually, she smells nice ". Luscious frowned, walking side by side with him, " Archie said the same thing. What's that all about "?

Axis scratched his chin lightly, " It's hard to explain but it's like the lady from last night, they're both simply eye catching ". Luscious was pleasantly surprised by that but Axis laughed at himself, " I probably sound like I'm in insane right"?

Luscious beamed, wrapping his arm over his shoulder " Not at all, you might be on to something ". Axis raised an eyebrow, trying to pry off Luscious' arm " You don't have to make fun of me, I know I sound insane ".

He shook his head firmly, patting Axis' chest " Maybe you sound a little insane, that doesn't mean you're not on to something ". Axis sighed, shaking his head " I'm probably gonna regret asking but what exactly did you come up with "?

Luscious smiled lazily, looking towards the direction of Nectar's palace " I think our new empress is actually the little Red those guys wouldn't shut up about ". Axis shook his head, refusing to believe it " It doesn't make any sense, why would you think that "?

Luscious rubbed his chin lightly, " They both walk the same way and she has bruised knuckles ". Axis shrugged " So they walk the same way, that doesn't mean anything and I heard she made the cookies, What if she hurt herself then "?

Luscious shook his head, " Why would her knuckles get hurt, it'd be her palm or fingertips "? Axis sighed in defeat, " You don't even have a way to prove it ". Luscious smiled playfully, " We'll just have to see for ourselves then ".

Axis shook his head, " What do you mean we? How are you even going to find her "? Luscious' smile didn't let up, " The grumpy barman did say she'd be back to pay for damages. We'll just check it out ".

Axis wasn't convinced, " Weren't you listening to anything Fay said? What makes you think she'll even be there "? Luscious wiggled his brows playfully, " That doesn't matter and don't worry, you won't make a fool of yourself this time ".
