Chapter 8

The next morning~

Shen Yin began to slowly open his eyes, the orb and cyclone surrounding him also dispersed at the same time. The boy fell onto the ground and landed on his feet. The moment he stood up, it could be seen that his eyes had a particular emerald glow that disappeared as soon as it appeared.

[Good morning, young master. How are you feeling?]

"Lei...something is different about my body..."

[It may be related to your unlocked potential. If you may, please bring out your Martial Soul.]

Shen Yin ,wanting to know what he was feeling, summoned his tool spirit. He was expecting to see his daggers but what appeared in his right hand was a different weapon entirely.

"Is this a....Glaive?"

[Yes, it is indeed a glaive.]

"Why did my essence change?"

[During the contract, instead of obtaining a new spirit essence, young master's Yin Yang twin daggers evolved. This was made possible because you have unleashed your own potential and your soul changed accordingly. Since your soul revolutionize, your tool spirit merely followed along the master and changed. Additionally, thanks to young master being half-spirit beast, you now have inherited a bloodline from the Wind lord. It is called, Primordial Wind Sovereign bloodline. Thanks to the boost from the bloodline and new essence, Young master has gained the ability of Absolute Wind and Wind Manipulation.]

After hearing the explanation, I took another glance at my new weapon. It was basically a spear that had my yin and yang blades placed on different ends, facing the opposite direction. The handle was black and elegantly decorated with emerald designs. It fit right into my hand and felt comfortable to hold as if this weapon was made just for me. The daggers made it possible for me to do close combat and fast hits. With this weapon, I may be able to do mid-ranged combat. It would take a while to get used to the weapon.

"Absolute wind and manipulation...does that mean I can use this essence to make non-spirit skills?"

[It all depends on your control. Young master must be cautious when using it. Wind element may be versatile but it is also one of the wildest element. Second only to fire.]

"Guess the road ahead will be a hard one."

In spite of that, a lot of ideas was already popping into my head on how I can use the wind to produce different attacks.

[Excuse me, but will young master be giving it an appropriate new name?]

"A name.....from now on, this will be called the Dawn Sky Wind Glaive."

[Dawn, the boundary between sun and moon and the sky which unites them. That is indeed a fitting name.]

"Lei, what happened to Feng, the wind spirit?"

[Feng is currently taking a rest after using so much energy. He will probably alert you when he awakes.]

"How long has it been?"

[The young master has been asleep for a whole night so today is merely the sixth day.]

"I need to hurry back to school but I also need to catch a spirit beast for my 4th ring."

[I have already made preparations for that.]

"Preparations?"

[Yes, since you were being protected by the cyclone shield, I took the opportunity to search for a good spirit beast for you.]

"What spirit beast is it?"

Lei led the boy to a cage made with Lightning. The beast laid in the middle of the cage.

[It's a 50,000 year old Silver Tempest Eagle. Does master wish to test some skills on it.]

"Then I will not hold back."

Lei enlarged the cage and allowed him to enter. With the Lightning cage around, the eagle will not be able to escape. The eagle saw the boy enter the prison and thought that if it kill the boy, the lightning will disperse and it will have his freedom back. Coming to that conclusion, the eagle instantly launched its attacks.

Shen Yin, while battling the beast, experimented his newly thought of skills on the eagle in an attempt to perfect it. The was hitting the bird with a stone. Not only am I able to test my ideas on wind based attacks, I can also use this opportunity to familiarize myself with my new weapon.

The fight went on for about two hours before he ended the beasts life. Shen yin wasted no time in absorbing the ring. It took up another hour.

"My time outside the school is almost up. I need to head back immediately."

[I shall escort the young master back. Please climb onto my back.]

Lei's size expanded and enlarged. He was about the size of three normal houses.

[Young master must hold onto me tightly as I fly. I will be flying at an extremely fast pace. A shield will be placed around the young master so the wind wouldn't blow you away but it's better to be cautious.]

The boy heard the warning and tightened his grip on the bird.

Timeskip~

Shen Yin's Pov

It only took Lei a single day to reach Shrek Academy. As expected of him who is at least comparable to a 500,000 year old spirit beast. 'Wait, at least, then what's at most?'

A few meters before we entered the city, I used shadow walk and entered Lei's shadow. Lei had already went inside my body to rest. By using shadow walk repetitively, I made it to the area where Shrek's tournament is held by coming out from teacher Zhou's shadow. She was celebrating and having a group hug with Xiao xiao, Wang Dong and Yuhao. I feel bad for interrupting this moment but....

"I have returned, Teacher Zhou."

"?!?! When did you?! How did you?!"

"I apologize if I accidentally spooked you. It's just one of my skills."

"You brat!! You just barely made it in time for the final match of the tournament!!!"

"I apologize."

"I'll forgive you this time but I won't let you off easily if this happens again."

3rd Pov

'Wah, that surprised me.' Yuhao thought, 'Which reminds me, I haven't seen Brother Yin fight at all. Why is that?'

"Well, did you get some results when you were out?" Teacher Zhou asks him.

"Yes, I believe you will be very satisfied with what I have obtained." Shen Yin replies with confidence.

'Out? Did he leave school for a while? No wonder I haven't seen him around.' Yuhao concludes

"I'll go inform the director of your arrival." Teacher Zhou says to him so that he could get ready for his match.

Minutes later~

"Now that the tournament has ended, we will now proceed with the Special Student Accommodation Match of student Shen Yin." A staff announces.

Shen Yin stepped up onto the podium, presenting himself for everyone to see.

"This student has achieved further than every other student and was given the special privilege to not compete in the new student tournament."

By now, the other students were murmuring about how unfair it was for him to have special treatment even if he was a little stronger than the rest of them.

"As a final ending for today's tournament, he will go against a specially selected student from the school to prove himself worthy of his privilege."

Another student stepped up onto the stage, "Student Xuan Hui, spirit level 43. Power attack system."

"Class one's Shen Yin, spirit level 42. Agility attack unit."

As he announced his spirit level, everybody's eyes widen in shock. A only 11 year old student managed to reach Spirit Ancestor. 'No wonder the school is allowing him to move ip without competing!! Such heaven defying talent!', was what went through the students' mind.

'Brother Yin had already attained such level! Come to think of it, this may be the first time I have ever seen brother Yin fight. I wonder what kind of skills he has.' Yuhao was excited to watch his closest and most secretive friend fight.

"Battle start!"

The opposing second year male student, Xuan Hui, summoned his spirit and charged forward to shorten the distance between them. He had a fire element spirit essence, Flame ogre.

"Don't blame me for being ruthless!" The student, despite knowing Shen Yin's spirit level, he didn't believe that he (Shen Yin) could beat him, a second year, "Blame yourself for having such talent!" The student didn't like Shen Yin because he was envious of his talent and the school's unfair special treatment towards him. Xuan Hui raised his clenched hand, hardened with his essence and flames covering it.

"..." Shen Yin neither moved or summoned his tool spirit. It was only at the last moment when the opponent's fist was strike his face when he moved his head sideways to dodge the attack. Shen Yin, with his left foot as a boost, used his right leg to knee his opponent on the stomach.

Xuan hui cough a bit and was forced to recede backwards. He couldn't believe that this junior, who is younger and weaker than him, managed to deal damage to him. Originally, he was planning on punching the shit and pride out of this supposedly weak junior so that he will never appear in school or public ever again but for him to be the one receiving the attack... Such humiliation!!

"Bastard!!" He charged forwards again, attempting to do another attack but Shen Yin didn't even give him the chance. He dived into his own shadow and pop out in front of his opponent's shadow, closing the distance instantly. Quickly summoning his glaive and slashing his opponent sideway. Unfortunately the attack did not get a direct hit because Xuan Hui was able to jumped backward in time. He did receive small cut on his arm.

'A glaive? I thought his essence were two daggers.' Teacher Zhou was surprised at the changed in her student's spirit essence, ' This brat has som explaining to do after this.'

To the other students, it was obvious that the first year was overwhelming his opponent without much difficulty and began whispering to each other, mocking Xuan Hui for being weak.

Xuan Hui, who heard the insult, was infuriated. First a knee attack and now a cut. This junior actually made him bleed!!! He was beginning to lose face in front of everyone and it's all because of this bastard in front of him.

"Flame Ogre third skill: Meteor Impact!", A purple spirit ring appears, "Eat shit and die!!" Xuan hui sent forward with another punch but this time his entire arm was coated in rocks and fire as if a meteor was coming at you. This time Shen Yin did not dodge or enter his shadow, he decided to take it head on and block it with his glaive. By using the handle, Shen Yin blacked the attack. Xuan Hui added more strength into his attack, wanting to push forward with his superior power. Shen Yin took advantage of his opponent's strength and used the momentum to make him fall by sliding aside. Just as he plained, his opponent lost balance and fell onto the ground. Xuan Hui's attack hit the ground causing a powerful impact which sent him flying back.

Xuan Hui, due to his Flame ogre specializing in defense and power, didn't take much damage and stood up straight away. Seeing this, Shen Yin figured that this persistent opponent of his was actually a perfect test subject to experiment his skills on. Just like that eagle. The match went on for several minutes of Xuan Hui attacking Shen Yin continuously and barraging the junior with hits that were getting slower and slower due to exhaustion. Shen Yin kept calm and used his glauve to parry the attacks elsewhere. The longer this battle went on, the more Shen Yin could adapt to his opponent's attacks.

"Flame ogre second skill: Ogre's Skin!" Xuan Hui's body hardened. This was obvious a skill that enhances one's endurance and defense. Normal attacks would affect him that much unless it's penetrative or...

"How unfortunate. No matter how strong your exterior defenses are you will never be able to block this attack."

'Dawn Sky Wind Glaive Second skill : Land of Nightmares' a black spirit ring appeared, astonishing everyone except Teacher Zhou, who knew about it from the beginning, and Fan Yu, who was informed by Teacher Zhou.

'A 10,000 year old ring!!', A certain few individuals ,that had grins on their face, were already plotting and scheming a way to pull this boy over to their side.

Shen Yin spun the weapon in his hand and swung it sideways, the Yin blade created a dark black slash that headed towards Xuan Hui.

'Heh, you overestimated yourself!! No matter how strong your attack is, I don't believe you can get through my Hardened skin!!', Xuan Hui was confident that Shen Yin will never be able to deal a fatal damage against him and attempt on blocking this attack directly with his body. He was so lost in his thoughts that he didn't even see the spirit ring.

As the name suggests, the nature of this attack was never meant for the body. It was actually a mental attack. The slash went through the senior student along with a gust of wind accompanying it. All of the sudden, Xuan Hui could only see darkness. Within this darkness, all he can see were his worst fears and nightmares that can haunt a person for life. This attack can potentially turn people into weak cowards. All of his attacks will also be sealed while this attack was in effect. Only those with strong mental resistance can free themselves from this mental attack.

On the outside, everyone could only see as the slash hit Xuan Hui. In a blink of an eye, Xuan Hui fell on the floor and started to brawl, cry and struggle mindlessly like a crazed man. Eventually Xuan Hui begged pathetically on the floor for it all to stop, he even leaked on the floor through his pants. It only took 30 seconds for Xuan Hui to faint then and there.

'What on earth happened to him?!' everyone could not figure out what Shen Yin did to this poor student.

"I believe it's my win."

"A-oh, the winner is Class 1's Student Shen Yin!!"

".....Wah!!!!" It took everyone a moment to digest the information before cheering out loudly at Shen Yin's complete domination in this match. The said boy took another glance at his currently unconscious opponent before heading down. Yuhao was the first one to go congratulate him.

"Brother Yin!! You were great!! Congratulations on winning!"

"Thanks, Yuhao. Congrats on winning the tournament as well."

"My team worked very hard after all."

"Oi, Shen Yin. We need to have a nice long talk after this." Teacher Zhou stepped in and gave him a stern glare.
