Chapter -67 - why Saachi should NOT die inside the game (2)

It should be said that the game was wonderful and new experience. As soon as Saachi used the orb, he could feel himself pulled into orb and he was floating like a ghost seeing his last fight from God's view.

The mega goats were really menacing, even when he watched them from above. He could see why these animals were favoured from this angle .

And he was pathetic, especially from this angle. The whole fight scene was in fast forward mode, with slow motion moves in between. He understood that these were moments barely right and could have turned wrong easily.

(Actually, it took him few slo-mo scenes to realise this, but what the heck! He is MC, for now! Let's pretend he is good!)

The fight stopped at a point. The point where he stumbled suddenly due to loss of focus for a moment, thankfully, he recovered and held on to only support available and jumped to other side.

That moment where he was about to fall was the moment the orb paused. Then, the surroundings turned hazy and he could see himself falling down.

He was dripping blood from wounds, his HP bar had barely there red bar and then...those massive, pain-in-the-a*s mega goats dived maniacally to pulverize him.

The next scene would change the way Saachi would play this game forever. Because, he died! For the first time in the game! And he saw the death note, for the first time!

'You have died!

Penalty - xxxx XP

'Failed the quest-

Penalty - xxxx XP'

'Curse of gods for disturbing the sacred animals -

Penalty - all punishment X2'

'Multiplier bonus - X 100

Total XP lost - xxxxxxxx XP!

'WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!!!

XP loss more than XP Present.

Calculating coins, items and weapons to supplement...

.....

WARNING!! WARNING!! WARNING!!

XP loss beyond coins, items, weapons in inventory!

Pay in cash/credit for XP loss to continue the account!

Current conversation rate based on player level and game level, 1 XP = 257 credits'

Saachi nearly fainted. He was still in the orb when he died, but this glaring red death note was completely filling his sight even when he was floating like a ghost. He did not even see the option of reviving on site or revival point and whether he would pay to have part of the strength back on revival. The XP loss was so much that even the AI knew this was not the time to mention that option.

* * *

This was the first time he felt the bite of multiplier bonus. He could somehow survive if the bonus would be X2 or X3, though in later periods, losing so much XP would be losing a week's or even a month's work, but that would be still bearable than higher multiplier bonus which would mean he had to restart again! In different village probably, with a poor welcome bonus!

(One of the methods the game used to prevent restarting again and again - each restart would swallow lot of money and/or give crappy welcome bonus.)

And not to forget, he will be starting late, running to catch the general players and methods to earn money would be taken over by rich and ruthless and solo players had to be satisfied with crumbles. Granted, these crumbles would be enough to supplement income or be enough to be salary....but he was not aiming for that!

That much money was just a starting point!

That was the moment he decided that he would not die inside the game. He would change his methods or learn skills or do something to ensure that goal!

Death was no longer an option for him! He would not die at hands of monsters, let alone the players which had even higher death penalty.

And just like that, one of his ways to progress in game and life closed. He would never become a daring Pioneer, a brave explorer or a reckless player!

Would a day come in future where his way of playing would be glorified? Or followed?

Or would he lose all the chances to shine like a star?

Saachi did not have such thoughts. He was already walking back to Village, taking a long and cautious route, a well known route.

This brush of death made the life even more sweeter. He would be spending much of his time within village.

And such a wonderful plan got derailed even before he reached the village. Brie was calling!

Work was calling! Money was calling!

What to choose - safe life within village or daring , thrilling, money making dungeon clears?
