Damian felt the strength of the hand on his shoulder and understood the gap between them. He knew he was no match for the other party.
There were eight of them, while Damian and Zuri were only two. And Zuri was a girl, so they would be outmatched.
He could only hope that some concerned citizen would call the police to handle these hooligans.
Zuri, looking calm, picked up a skewer of lamb from the plate and ate slowly, completely ignoring the provocation from the others, as if they were invisible.
She continued to eat and drink as she pleased.
Meanwhile, she casually invited Damian, "This lamb skewer is pretty good. You should try it."
Damian looked at the skewer in front of him and then at the group of menacing people around them. He stiffly took the skewer, wanting to say something, but seeing Zuri's calm demeanor, he decided to stay silent.
Yu Jiaxi's smile vanished as he saw them ignoring their presence, and his face darkened with signs of rage.
Suddenly, Yu Jiaxi swung his hand, knocking all the plates off the table onto the ground.
"You think I'm invisible? I'll make sure you can't eat," Yu Jiaxi snarled, grinding the skewers under his feet, as if stepping on Zuri herself.
Zuri picked up a napkin from the nearby table, wiped her mouth, glanced at the ruined food on the ground, and clicked her tongue, looking both pained and regretful.
"It's such a waste of good food, ruined by a dog."
"Who are you calling a dog? You're asking for it!" Yu Jiaxi glared at her, ready to strike.
Damian was too frightened by Yu Jiaxi's fierce look to move.
"Brother, what do you want?"
Yu Jiaxi gave Damian a dismissive look and turned his gaze to Zuri. "I'm here to borrow some money from the lady. As an old friend, now that you're wealthy, you should help us out."
"How much do you want?"
Since it was a matter of money, it wasn't a problem.
Damian fumbled for his wallet, ready to pay for their peace.
"Not much, just 100,000."
Damian froze, awkwardly holding his wallet.
"100,000 is too much!"
Yu Jiaxi laughed, "Too much? It's good I'm not asking for 200,000. Zuri, just pay up. Otherwise, your neighbors won't have a good time."
"Oh." Zuri responded blandly.
Yu Jiaxi was stunned. "What do you mean? You don't intend to pay? Aren't you afraid I'll go after them?"
Everyone knew how much she cared about her neighbors; just mentioning them would make her surrender.
"Do as you please."
Her indifferent attitude left Yu Jiaxi and his group dumbfounded.
Yu Jiaxi, disbelieving, quickly sneered, "You've changed. Now that you're in the lap of luxury, you look down on your neighbors."
Zuri ignored his mocking; to her, he was just a clown, not worth her attention.
If he kept buzzing around, she'd squash him like a bug.
"Yu Jiaxi, if there's nothing else, get lost!"
Zuri issued an eviction order.
"You think you can just tell me to leave? My buddies here might not agree," Yu Jiaxi said, standing his ground, clearly intent on staying until he got what he wanted.
"Not leaving?" Zuri's cold eyes looked at him.
"Screw you!" Yu Jiaxi spat out obscenities.
Just as he finished speaking, there was a loud slap.
Yu Jiaxi turned his head, staring at her in disbelief.
The gang members around him were also shocked.
They never expected her to hit him.
"You bitch!"
Enraged, Yu Jiaxi grabbed a nearby chair and lunged at Zuri. Damian froze in fear.
Just as Zuri seemed about to be hit, she swiftly dodged the chair, spun around, and kicked Yu Jiaxi squarely in the chest. The force sent him staggering back into his gang, who caught him before he fell.
Humiliated, Yu Jiaxi roared, "What are you standing around for? Get her!"
The group charged at Zuri, surrounding her.
The nearby diners fled, while others watched from a distance.
"Wow, so many people bullying one girl. She's in trouble," someone muttered.
But just then, they saw Zuri effortlessly kick the gang members away, like tossing watermelons.
The onlookers were stunned, and Damian's mouth dropped open in shock.
Her combat ability was terrifying.
What seemed like an inevitable beating for them turned out to be the other group's bad luck.
Ten minutes later, Yu Jiaxi and his gang were all lying on the ground, groaning.
Zuri walked up to Yu Jiaxi, stepped on his chest, and looked down at him. "Are you satisfied with this outcome? If not, I can offer you a hospital bed for half a year."
Damian almost laughed at her words.
Yu Jiaxi, humiliated and angry, but with no choice, stayed silent.
If he didn't behave, she'd make sure he did.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through Yu Jiaxi's chest, making him scream.
"Aaah!"
After a scream, Yu Jiaxi finally surrendered. "I won't dare anymore. Please, spare me."
Zuri removed her foot, crouched down, and whispered, "If you want me to let you go, do one thing for me. Take that chair and hit that man. Got it? If you understand, blink."
Yu Jiaxi blinked, desperate to be spared.
Zuri stood up and solemnly addressed the gang, "Be good people, don't waste your lives. If you keep causing trouble, you'll get what you deserve."
Damian nodded in agreement, and the bystanders murmured approval.
Suddenly, Yu Jiaxi grabbed a nearby plastic chair and lunged at Damian.
By the time Damian noticed, it was too late to dodge.
Just then, a small figure darted forward, pushing Damian aside, taking the chair's blow herself.
The crowd gasped!
Yu Jiaxi hesitated, a sinister gleam in his eyes. Just as he was about to strike again, avenging his earlier humiliation, a strong force hit his back, sending him flying to the ground.
Kaden, eyes filled with fury, stared down at Yu Jiaxi. "You're looking for death!"
