Chapter 39 Successfully Escaped

He was curious about his abnormal reaction, and he was even more curious about the woman in his arms.

"Has he left?" An Lengyan felt awkward being hugged by a stranger. Seeing that he did not make any movements, she had no choice but to ask.

Caris released her hand and said, "It's fine now. You seem to be very afraid of him. Hmm... although he does look very scary." 

An Lengyan didn't want to explain anything to him. She nodded and thanked him before walking towards the gate to get on the plane as soon as possible.

"Hey, you haven't told me your name yet. My name is Caris," Caris shouted from behind her.

An Lengyan's body stiffened. She instantly felt that gloomy gaze. She cursed and pulled Caris away.

Lu Li's gaze fell on their hands. He was as cold as a knife as he chased after them.

An Lengyan ran very fast, the fastest she ever did in her life. She finally arrived at the gate, but Lu Li was very close behind her. She anxiously waited for her ticket to be checked.

Just as Lu Li was about to grab her, An Lengyan passed the gate. When she turned around, she saw Lu Li, who was blocked outside. Lu Li's expression could no longer just be described as gloomy, An Lengyan didn't doubt that if she stood in front of him now, she would be torn to shreds.

She quickly turned around and didn't dare to look at him anymore. She kept telling herself that she wouldn't see him again

Even so, her palms were still covered in sweat.

Caris looked over curiously and asked, "What did you do to that man? Why do I feel like he has a grudge against you, like you killed his father or something?" 

An Lengyan's mouth twitched and she glared at him. If it weren't for him, she wouldn't be in such a sorry state.

She couldn't stand his incessant chatter and said, "If you don't know Chinese, then don't talk nonsense. That's not how you use that phrase. You should say..." 

She thought about a few adjectives, but couldn't come up with one. It was as if the vendetta between them was even scarier than that. She gulped and reminded herself not to think about it anymore. Otherwise, she would have a heart attack.

Lu Li watched as she boarded the plane. He didn't move, nor did he chase after her.

He smiled cruelly as he thought, 'An Lengyan, I'll give you a chance to run away from me. I want to see how long you can run. One day, you'll come back to me.'

He knew in his heart that the gap between him and An Lengyan was too big. One was a useless poor boy, and the other was the daughter of a rich family. Even if he caught up to her, the forces behind An Lengyan had a hundred ways to make her leave him.

Right now, he was not capable enough..

He lowered his head and looked at his hands while slowly clenching them. The next time they met, he would never let go of her again.

A woman wearing sunglasses appeared at the airport. Beside her was a three-year-old boy. This child attracted a lot of attention, mainly because he was clearly a child, but he had a mature expression. He was frowning, as if he was troubled.

"Mommy, why did you come here? I can't even see Daddy anymore," the little boy pinched the corner of the woman's clothes and said with a sulky expression.

An Lengyan took off her sunglasses. After four years, she had matured into a mature woman. Her rosy lips curled up helplessly. "Little Mo Zi, how many times have I told you? Don't call me Mommy. I'm not your mommy. Besides, if you don't want to leave Daddy, then don't follow me. Did I ask you to follow me?" 

Mo Nan was furious. He let go of her hands and crossed his arms before his chest as he stood to the side. He said angrily, "I'm only here to protect you because I'm worried that you'll be in danger. Daddy isn't here, so it's my responsibility to protect you." 

An Lengyan squatted down and pinched his face. After seeing that his round face had changed shape, she said in a good mood, "Don't learn from your father at such a young age. Children should act cute."
