Chapter 60 The Power of Habit

The meal didn't last very long, it ended in less than an hour. After all, they had a long way to go, and both Lu Family sisters had to rush back at night with a child in tow.

On their way back, Xie Jiang and Xie Changgen each carried a basket on their back, and each of them had two bunches of washed grapes, wrapped in lotus leaves, given by their second aunt so they could eat while walking.

Xie Jifu was the happiest, holding his share of grapes carefully and hopping along on his own. From time to time, he would pluck a grape and chew on it, even swallowing the seeds and skin without wanting to spit them out.

Xie Jiang and Xie Changgen didn't eat the grapes much. They were reluctant and thought to save them for their wives and children to enjoy more. Lu Aijiao and Lu Aimei found this amusing yet bittersweet, so when they ate, they didn't forget to also pop a few grapes into their mouths, to let them taste too.
