Finally, she could get rid of this girl, but it was ruined?

Lisa Liang was unwilling, but all the teachers witnessed Emma's real scores. She knew how important scores were to the school.

Damn! She couldn't expel this girl now!

"So, should Ms. Liang apologize to me?" Emma wasn't going to let it go.

"I will never apologize!" Lisa glared at Emma, her chest heaving in anger.

Leonard Liu cleared his throat, displeased, "Emma Roberts, Ms. Liang raised valid questions for fairness and discipline. How can you embarrass a teacher?"

"Ms. Liang falsely accused me in front of everyone, damaging my reputation. Shouldn't I be embarrassed?"

"Ms. Liang will clarify to the class and clear your name. That's settled," Leonard Liu dismissed Emma's demand for an apology.

Emma smirked, looking at Lisa and then at Leonard, "A few months ago, on a dark night, I passed the school grove and saw Ms. Liang... oh, and Mr. Liu..."

Hearing this, Lisa's face changed, interrupting her, "Fine, I'll apologize! Anything else, tell me privately, don't waste other teachers' time!"

Lisa never expected the usually timid Emma would dare to threaten her!

Emma knew what Lisa was thinking. She wouldn't be foolishly suppressed by her again.

With this leverage, Lisa had to restrain herself.

Leonard Liu wiped his sweat, his tone suddenly gentle, "Emma Roberts, Ms. Liang has agreed to apologize. Are you satisfied? The expulsion decision is suspended, but if you cause trouble during the observation period, neither of us can protect you."

"I understand," Emma nodded, knowing when to stop.

Back in the classroom, Lisa's face was dark as she returned, Emma following.

The classroom fell silent, all eyes on Emma.

Lisa's nails dug into her palms, but she had to speak, "Students, the teachers have proven Emma Roberts' scores are real. She is indeed first in class. I didn't verify earlier, so I apologize to Emma."

Emma looked indifferent, "It's fine. Just don't judge by appearance next time."

The class erupted.

A student who always came last suddenly became first, shocking everyone.

"Emma Roberts is really first? Unbelievable!"

"Who said they'd eat shit if Emma was first? Wasn't it you, John?"

"Get lost! You eat it!"

"Big deal, so what if she's first! She's still ugly!"

"I thought we'd finally be rid of this freak. Now we have to tolerate her!"

Lisa suppressed her anger, "The ranking list is out. Everyone adjust your seats according to it!"

The class groaned, some happy, some not.

Finally solving a big problem, Emma felt good, slowly packing her things and waving goodbye to her deskmate, "Bye, Aiden! Congrats, you don't have to face my ugly face anymore!"

The boy held the ranking list, veins popping on his forehead. "Bye, my foot!"

Ten minutes later, everyone had rearranged their seats.

All eyes were on the first row, first two seats.

First seat left: Emma Roberts.

First seat right: Aiden Xie.

Emma settled into her new seat, feeling the eyes of the class on her. She knew this change would be a topic of conversation for a long time. She glanced over at Aiden, who looked equally uncomfortable. 

"Looks like we're seatmates now," Emma said with a slight smile.

Aiden grunted, "Just don't distract me. I'm here to study, not socialize."

Emma chuckled, "I'm here to study too, believe it or not."

The teacher started the lesson, and Emma focused on her work. She could feel the tension in the air, but she also felt a sense of accomplishment. She had proven herself, and now it was time to maintain her position.

During the break, Samantha Green approached her, excitement in her eyes. "Emma, I can't believe it! You're at the top! I'm so proud of you!"

Emma smiled warmly, "Thanks, Sam. It wasn't easy, but I did it."

Samantha glanced at Aiden, who was scribbling furiously in his notebook. "Looks like Aiden is your new neighbor. How's that going?"

Emma shrugged, "It's fine. He's intense, but I think we'll manage."

As the days passed, Emma and Aiden settled into a rhythm. Their rivalry pushed them to work harder, and despite the initial tension, they found a mutual respect for each other's dedication. Emma smiled, "Thanks, Aiden. And don't worry, I won't go easy on you. I plan to stay at the top."

Aiden smirked, "Good. I wouldn't have it any other way."
