"Don't be sad. We will find a way to cure her," Xavier said, his words the only solace he could offer to uplift her mood.
"Hmm, t-thank you, Xavier. I hope... we can find the best doctor to cure her. She is my only family now—" Iris tried to contain her sadness, but it proved challenging. Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and when she spoke, her voice cracked.
'Why am I feeling like this?' She wondered silently, forcing a smile and nodding in response to Xavier's comforting words.
Xavier seethed inside as he watched her grief unfold. The urge to go back and hug her surged through him, but he pushed it back, remembering Niles' words echoing in his mind.
'This is for her safety... This is for her,' he repeated to himself.
