F-Rank Monsters (2)

Growl...

Kai observed as Skarn's massive foot descended towards the wolf's broken body. But just as the monster was about to deliver the final blow, the wolf suddenly sprang to life, darting out of harm's way with incredible speed and agility.

The wolf had managed to evade the Skarn's crushing attack, and with renewed determination, it lunged towards the monster once again, hoping to land a decisive blow and claim victory.

With a forceful clamp of its massive jaws, the beast savagely pierced Skarn's side, tearing away one of the sturdy plates that had been protecting its flank. The sound of teeth grinding against stone echoed through the air, as a river of crimson blood poured forth from the wound left behind by the torn plate, drenching the ground in a gory display.

Roar...

Caught off guard and wracked with agony, Skarn let out a guttural roar that reverberated through the air. The wolf's jaws continued to gnash and tear at Skarn's flesh, tearing its body apart. With a sudden burst of strength, Skarn flung itself to the side, hoping to crush the wolf under its tremendous weight. But the beast was too quick, darting away from the attack at the last possible moment, narrowly avoiding being crushed by Skarn's massive bulk.

Two beasts locked eyes, both of them battered and bleeding from the vicious battle that had ensued.

The wolf's chest heaved unnaturally, likely from the tail attack it had received earlier, and its breathing was ragged and labored. Meanwhile, Skarn's once-imposing form was now marred by the loss of several plates from its side and a chewed leg that made movement a difficult and painful task.

Despite the extensive injuries they had sustained, neither beast showed any sign of yielding or giving up. Their eyes burned with an unrelenting intensity, reflecting the fierce determination that burned within them. It was as if their wounds only served to fuel their resolve, igniting a fierce passion that refused to be quenched.

Kai couldn't help but feel goosebumps rise on his skin as he watched the two beasts lock eyes and continue to stare each other down. Even though he had lived through many battles, the thrill of witnessing such a clash of strong forces never grew old. It was as if he was transported into the pages of a fantasy book or the scene of a blockbuster movie, watching in awe as two massive creatures battled it out for supremacy.

Kai's thoughts drifted to his previous life, a time when he would have been more than capable of taking on both of these creatures and emerging victorious. But now, as a mere G-Rank teenager, he knew that he was no match for these massive monsters that could tear him to shreds in mere seconds. The power dynamic of this battle was vastly different from his previous experiences, and he couldn't help but feel a sense of trepidation mixed in with his excitement.

Boom...

Another fierce strike landed with a resounding impact, sending the wolf careening towards the ground. As it hit the earth with a bone-jarring thud, a fresh wave of blood gushed forth from its maw. Its once-lively eyes now half-closed, the creature struggled to rise to its feet, it was clear to Kai that the monster was on the brink of collapse. He could see its strength waning with every passing moment, as it fought to hold on to its fleeting consciousness.

'It's about time...'

Kai's grip on the bone spear tightened, his muscles tensing in anticipation as he watched the Skarn warily approach the dying wolf. The monster knew that he couldn't let his guard down, not even for a moment, as he prepared for the possibility of another surprise attack.

Kai emerged from his hiding spot, moving with slow, deliberate steps as he approached the Skarn's back. His eyes remained fixed on the beast, analyzing its every movement and hoping that it had already forgotten about him.

Licking his lips he noticed the purple wolf, glance at him for a second, his eyes as if pleading to finish off the Skarn. Kai's face morphed into a stone mask as he noticed the monster's pleading.

'I'll kill you next!'

He wasn't kind enough to let go of a monster, especially when humanity will fall because of them.

Sneaking up, Kai noticed the purple wolf glance at him for a brief moment. Its eyes seemed to plead with him, urging him to finish off the Skarn. But Kai's face remained stoic, his lips pressed into a thin line as he watched Skarn approach the wolf. He was not one to show mercy to monsters that threatened humanity.

"I'd kill you too, if I could..."

Kai observed as Skarn approached the helpless wolf. He could see the monster raise its massive tail high into the air and, with a sickening thud, bring it down, smashing the wounded wolf into the ground and ending its life in an instant.

Kai didn't feel the slightest hint of guilt for not helping the dead wolf. In fact, he felt a small sense of satisfaction in watching one of the monsters die. In his past life, he had sometimes felt a twinge of hesitance when he watched some of the creatures perish. But now, after seeing a vision of how the humans had ended up after his death, he felt no emotion at all watching one of the beasts meet its end.

With the wolf dead, Kai wasted no time in taking action. He was already just a few dozen feet away from the Skarn's leg, and he quickly dashed forward, not giving the monster any time to prepare.

'Prime Thrust!'

Kai thrust his spear forward, feeling the power of his strike. The spearhead pierced through the unprotected flesh of the Skarn's leg, causing it to roar in pain. Both of the creature's back legs were now damaged, making it harder for it to move. Kai took advantage of this and quickly retreated, watching as the monster struggled to stay standing.

"Now you can't run!"
