Chapter 31: New World Again

"Finally! Ugh, I can't stand the travel over large d- *blergh* distance…" Alma kneeled over the ground and puked.

Thankfully Tanya already experienced a rougher form of travel over the void and this is comfortable compared to before. Charlotte also exits Ray's shadow and takes a look at the new world they landed in.

"Odd… I can feel the mana in the atmosphere but it's very thin. Almost a hundred times thinner than the Empire." Tanya commented while surveying the surroundings while Ray helped tend to the Nature God Priestess now named Alma or the full name is Alma Alva Alf Aestrea. But she discarded her old identity and now she is just Alma.

After Alma recovered, Ray asked her to try to use her power to connect with nature and appraise their situation. After all, there are plenty of hostile universes and he can just take a rest to fill his mana and initiate another Space-time jump.

"My Law of Nature was demoted from Peak to Mid rank. But enough to complete the task!" Alma excitedly rolls her sleeve and channels her Law of Nature to connect with Mother Earth.

In the meantime, Ray prepares a light supper since everyone is definitely hungry after god knows how many hours of travel.

He took out already cooked and still piping hot dishes from the storage ring and laid a mat to put the food on like a picnic for Tanya and also Charlotte who just ate for the sake of eating instead of satisfying her hunger.

Then he checks on his status to see any changes after entering another universe while waiting for Alma to use her ability.

Nothing much had changed other than his stats risen from his 7 months stopping at the cultivation world. Then the three abilities he obtained which is to aid his travel between universes.

He actually stopped his thoughts in trying to get more abilities that could be useless after a talk with Alma.

"I am not the person to judge the method or powers you use. But, pray tell. How long have you been honing your 'blade'." The Priestess suddenly turned serious while asking. No, she is demanding the answer from Ray.

"Few years… Why?" He answered confusedly but glad she didn't dislike him for literally defiling souls unlike most others that would hate him or worse, try to kill him.

The Priestess had heard Ray's answer. She actually didn't expect that answer. She thought he had at least a hundred years down his belt already since he explained, this isn't his first life.

"How about your previous life?"

"Previous life?" Ray repeated and pondered a little before answering. "You might not believe this. However, in my previous life I lived as a normal person without power or anything. Rather, the world I lived in was normal and didn't have any ability or power that could be used."

"So, are you telling me that you have been cultivating less than a year and now suddenly are as strong if not stronger than Saint King rank cultivators?" The Priestess said and couldn't even believe her own words that she spoked.

"Yes and it is related to my previous answer regarding. I guess I can tell you since you can't do anything that is against me. But keep this a secret from others, okay." Ray lowered his voice and then explained how he was technically the creator of all the universe as the creator of this omniverse that his fanfic main characters are living in. Then how he was rebelled upon by his creations and forced into the place within his own creation.

"Though, to be honest. I didn't dislike it at all. This was better than living my previous life as a nobody. Here, I can become what I always dreamed to be." Ray said to conclude his story as for now.

"If not for my power to discern lies. I would have thought you were a delusional madman." The Priestess sighed and tried to digest the information she just obtained from Ray.

"However, in that case. Wouldn't you actually be the Almighty Creator of this Omniverse you spoke of but was exiled after your creations rebelled upon you." The Priestess wondered.

"In a sense, yes. You could say so." Ray nodded since she isn't wrong. When he is still writing his stories. If he wanted, he could grant his characters anything he wanted and take anything he wanted from them. He can create a world with few words and destroy another with the same manner.

"Then, wouldn't that make you a fallen god? Also, not just any god but the creator god. No wonder I can feel this weird attunement from you that is even greater than the God of Nature herself." The Priestess revealed a secret to Ray.

"Attunement?" He asked again, hoping she would explain its meaning.

"Yes. I can feel this sense of harmony greater than nature from you. It makes sense now since you are the creator of everything, then everything inside the confine of your creations contains a part of you that forms that 'everything'." The Priestess answered but soon sensed her explanation may be too complicated for Ray with how confused he looked. "Let's say it this way. The Power of Law. It is the set of laws that govern a specific place laid down by the creator of that world."

"I never remember doing anything like that though." Ray added.

"Yes, you don't. However, just like our body. Do we set the way they react and function? No, yet they can and carry out very complicated functions capable of repairing itself and healing itself."

"What I am trying to say is, you can think of this omniverse as your body. What you wrote is what you are conscious about. Like your arms that you can control. Then what you didn't write about yet it existed is like your cells working unconsciously. You didn't create it consciously but it definitely exists and is part of you."

Ray sort of hearts and nods along, trying to see what she is trying to convey but she does make sense. The unconscious ones are those uncountable amounts of ideas that he once thought of but never reached the inception stage and dismissed. How, he thinks of them before and exists in his subconscious mind.

"That's why your rise to power is meteoric. The whole omniverse is part of you and will unconsciously favor you more than anything. The key word being unconscious." The Priestess said.

If what Alma said is true. No matter what world he enters, he will be able to adapt easily if he has certain abilities. Mainly, nature aligned abilities since the very nature of the world will favor him unless it is manipulated by another person. Which is why Alma says only the unconscious part of nature will favor him.

Overthinking about it isn't good either. Ray sighed and put those thoughts on the shelf at the back of his mind.

"I'll cross the bridge when I get there…" Ray muttered and decided to eat those dishes that he already took out before they went cold. But when he goes to eat, all those plates are empty and spotless. Not even a crumbs can be seen.

Of course, the culprit is none other than Charlotte. This isn't the first time this happened and definitely not the last. He didn't even have the will to get angry or argue as he just satiated his hunger with mana as usual and walked toward Alma to look at her progress.

Sensing Ray walking toward him, Alma stopped her actions and stood up to face him.

"So, how's the progress?" Ray asked with some anticipation.

"Hmn… This world definitely has mana but it feels hostile. The dragon vein of this world is depleting which is a very bad sign." Alma explained with a heavy tone. "Dragon vein is the vitality of Mother Earth, her lifeblood and blessings to all the child she birthed. I am sure you know what would happen if someone's blood dried up."

"They will die." Ray stated the fact.

"Indeed, the person will die and so does this world if the dragon vein continues to dry up. The world will become a barren wasteland devoid of life if the mana were to dry up completely." Alma explains while looking sad at the state of this world. "It saddens me to see the world decayed to this extent. As members of the Ancient Elf race, it's our duty to nurture and protect the great mother that birthed us and I will vow to save this world from dying."

Ray who already has an inkling of what this world is. Felt terrified by what Alma just declared. After all he recognised those signs. The mana is drying, the world is dying and mana is hostile. What other universe could this be if not Nasuverse. The one that he wanted to go the most because it's a gold mine for him with aid of system and Fiction Adaptation. Yet he was also afraid of this universe the most because of the numbers of bullshit monsters crawling in those of those decrepit corners of each texture and layer that can kill him.

What Alma just declared would mean she has to kill off the humanity that causes the world's environment to deteriorate to such a state or peacefully resolve the environmental issue that Ray doubts the top decision makers of the world that seek only profit would willingly follow her plan.

"Do you really mean it?" Ray asked with a sinister grin which surprised Alma who was unaware of the weight of her declaration.

"Of course I do, boy. We Elves are protectors of nature. We will do whatever it takes to protect and heal the world." Alma stood proudly and declared as an Ancient Elf who had done so in her original world for thousands of years.

"Even if that means exterminating the humanity that has been causing the pollutants which poison the earth?" Ray asks with a mischievous grin.

He is incredibly happy if she would choose to exterminate humanity because that also means getting billions of souls. He didn't really think of this before but any normal modern world is an easy target for him. With all those souls, only imagination is his limit and a matter of time before he becomes an unrivaled existence in this universe to step up to multiverse level.

"What do you mean by that?" Alma was incredibly confused by Ray's question and suggestion.

"Well, you see. This world is incredibly similar to my original world and to make it easy to explain. Humans basically have no magic or Qi or any supernatural powers and rely heavily on technology and science. But that results with massive exploitation of nature and its resources by the massive corporations. From natural gas to oils, mining industry, agriculture and even drinking waters." Ray explained and Alma was horrified just by listening to how cruel humanity has been. "There's nothing normal people could do because the rules and laws are in favor of the powerful and the politicians. So, peace was never an option if you want to really save the world from dying." Ray then gave his memories about all related subjects he was talking about and the eventual outcome of all this environmental issue. Which Ray purposely gives the image of a dystopian future from Overlord's mc world where Earth is choked with smog filled with carcinogenic chemicals and poison. No life is able to exist anymore in such a wasteland.

"This… is all this true?" Alma asked with shock that reached her soul at the condition of Earth in that dystopian future.

"Yes, if you don't cull the parasite. This is the result you would see eventually." Ray nodded.

"I see." Alma hardened her resolve and nod. "If this is the way then I will carry it out. I will eliminate those parasites."

"Just the parasite instead of all humanity? You are taking them too lightly. Humanity never learns from their mistakes and history will just repeat again and again." Ray said, knowing she can tell if his words are true or not.

"Then you are proposing to eliminate entire humanity?"

"Basically. Return them to the stone age and restart a brand new civilization that doesn't base on technology that is harmful to the world." Ray nodded again to her and explained his point.

"That's no different than playing god. How about the others that fought for improving the environment? There are plenty of them from the memories you showed me. Once we eliminate the parasite, those that are trying to save the environment deserve to live." Alma argued.

"Indeed. They deserve it. But not removing the core problem will just cause the same to happen again." Ray already knew this argument was gonna come and had prepared his points in his mind.

"They are selfish, Alma." Ray sighed but he also is selfish, he thought. "They claim to save the environment yet still contribute to the exploitation. Where do all the technologies they use come from? The material used to manufacture? The process it involves? The factories, chemicals etc all those are what ruined the environment." Ray argued and Alma was confused by some unfamiliar terms but the memories Ray shared does cover all of them. "In the end, unlike elves. When push comes to shove, almost entirely of humans will prioritize themselves. They didn't care or put much effort into saving the environment and even profit from them." Ray stated and shared another piece of memories about how few large organizations that claim to preserve wildlife will accept donations from people and use it to pay the top ringleaders of those scams instead of actually saving the wildlife as they claim to be."

At this point, Ray wonder does having a strong but pacifist and upholder of justice type of companion really worth the effort. He could force her to follow his will but that will sour their relationship since the Elven race is a peaceful race that is generally against bloodshed and conflict unless it's regarding the safety of their home forest and mother nature.

"If this isn't enough of a proof for you then I'll bring you to see with your own eyes." Ray said and opened a portal to a general location somewhere in China where it is known as the factory of the world. He also leaves a mental message for Tanya and Charlotte he is leaving while leaving an instruction for them to find a certain city nearby where a hidden war is being waged.

"Let's go, I'll let you see with your own eyes how little these people care about the planet they live on." Ray pulled Alma's hand and pulled her gently into the portal.

"So, we are told to find this city named Fuyuki. You are a former Japanese. You show the way." Charlotte shoved the task immediately to Tanya once she found that she could. However, Tanya didn't care at all and was extremely excited when Ray said they actually landed somewhere in Japan. That means this world is Earth!

"Come, let's go quickly." Tanya swoops all the stuff on the floor into her storage ring and pulls Charlotte along in a hurry.

"Whhheeerrrreee aaarreee wweee goooiiinnggg!" Charlotte tried to ask but was hardly able to when Tanya leaped into the air and used Flight spell and speed toward the closest civilization.

"How is it? Great isn't it?" Tanya excitedly asked Charlotte who was still angry and pouting in her little fit of anger but she couldn't help but nod to Tanya. The food is indeed delicious.

Who had thought the Japanese people honed their craft through generations and was able to create such mouth watering dishes she just tried.

"Come on, we still have more places to visit. Ray said we will meet in two days. So, we still have plenty of time." Tanya said before dragging Charlotte to the next shop that sells delicious mochi. A great dessert after tasting various rice bowls.

Also, the money they used wasn't fake money they made with mana because those deteriorate after a while and they tested. So, they sell a few of the stuff Ray collected from the cultivation world which easily passes as antiques. A lot of them come from raiding bandit hideouts and some young masters that dare to flaunt their family to Ray. Not to mention a lot of them contain Qi energy that could be genuine artifacts. Of course, they didn't ask for his consent either.

After a whole day of enjoying the comfort of the modern world again, Tanya finally and reluctantly left the city in search of Fuyuki city.

She first tried to recall if there is even such a city in Japan. But she couldn't remember it and she practically memorized each city that exists in Japan.

"Could it be a new city?" She wondered as she led Charlotte to the airport.

After entering and booking a flight for both her and Charlotte. She gave up trying to think about the city existence that she just knew and bought a new set of outfits for herself and Charlotte due to theirs standing out. Especially Charlotte who is still wearing clothes from Cultivation World most thought she was a performer or cosplayer of some sort.

But on the other end, the magus that was secretly preparing for a war in Fuyuki city noticed the disturbance. Some panicked by such a sudden burst of incredibly powerful and potent mana. Almost like a dragon vein just spawned in the middle of nowhere.

They wanted to seek the source of the disturbance but many were unwilling to leave in such a time where war is imminent. They only send familiars or contact others to do it for them.

Almost half a day later, Ray infiltrated the city after he sent off Alma to do her stuff. Unfortunately, he has to restrain the release of his mana which easily reveals his existence to other magus.

His first step is to spread his Wraiths and gather information. He need to know which Grail War is this to determine his next course of action.
