Josh got off the room and walked to the scroll store to receive his free scrolls. Upon entering, he saw a line that's not too long. He assumed—that given a break time of one hour before his prediction magic theory class—he had enough time to wait in line for the scrolls.

After waiting for about 20 minutes, Josh was finally in front of the counter.

"Good Afternoon, young sir! Will you buy scrolls?"

"Uhm... No, I'll get the free ones for the freshman."

"Okay! Please lend me your ID. I need to see your records to guarantee that you are a freshman and also to see if you have one or two magics awakened."

Josh put out his ID from his side pocket, then handed it to the counterman. After about a minute, the counterman returned his ID.

"All are clear. You have two awakened magics, so you will receive four scrolls. And, I will also include the instruction in pleading mana for mana blessing. Here it is. Best of luck on your blessings~!"

"Thank you," Josh smiled then thanked the counterman.

Josh carried the paper bag with the empty scrolls inside. He still has his prediction magic theory classes, so he deemed it better to do the mana pleading ritual for the mana blessing later.

Josh took out his smartphone then opened the academy portal. He took out the invitation letter from the prediction department and scanned the QR code on it. Upon scanning, he was brought to a page containing the map toward the department.

On his way, he saw youths the same age as him chattering.

"Hey! Hey! Why don't we just exchange scrolls? Isn't it fine? I mean, there is no school rule prohibiting that."

"I think you can... But, you might get the bitter end of the stick if you exchange for a trashy spell, you know."

"Ahh... So that's how it is... It's really a gamble, huh... But wait, what if I just bullied others for their scrolls? I mean, little threatening is fine, right?"

"Are you dumb? Did you not attend pre-academy school? Except for cases of murder and rape, ALL crimes are punishable by military serving. And not just helping a little, you will be in the front line! Even if you haven't awakened, you will be made as to the bag carrier and bait for demonic beasts! And stealing other's scrolls? Gosh! We'll graduate before you even end your service! Dumbass!"

"Eh!? That harsh? I only have little knowledge about laws... I only know that rape and murder are punished by torture and death... As to military disobedience, shattering of mana artery in the heart... I thought that slight punches and bullying won't get punished..."

"Well... there are bullies when I'm at the pre-academy, but they don't really injure someone that hard... Ohh! I remember! One of the bullies that attempted rape on one of my classmate when I was in 9th grade got sent to the military service. He was made as a ration carrier for the front lines."

"Damn... That must have sucked, huh..."

"He died."

"!?"

"And you know what, the military didn't even care. They only gave the family of that boy some money for his military sacrifice. That's how harsh the law is..."
