Secret (Part 1)

It was dark for a couple moments, and I landed on solid floor. Seriously, Rey. To think you fell for something like that. I'm too embarrassed to even think about it. You've grown rusty.

I looked around me. It was really dark. I could barely see my hands in front of me. I could hear breathing, four different speeds, four different people.

"Hehehe, looks like we have our prey."

"Oo, it's a cute boy."

"Hey, boss, when can we get him?"

"Quiet!"

The voices shushed. Looks like they've done their research on me. Putting me in a dark room with no light to put a handicap on my Quirk. The four of them who are suited for combat in the dark. They've come prepared.

"Who's there?" I shouted. "What is your purpose here?"

"Oh look, he's talking.

"He sounds scared. Poor baby boy."

"Shut up! Let the boss speak!"

"Kid, we have orders to keep you occupied. While you and your classmates are separated, Shigaraki will take down All Might."

I adjusted my gloves. "So you guys are after All Might? I'm curious. You guys can't beat him with numbers alone. What makes you so confident?"

"We have a secret weapon. I've seen it before. It's strong enough to beat All Might."

Is that so? I'm intrigued.

"Well then, thank you for answering my questions. Now that I have all the information I need, you guys can get out of my way!"

I swung my hands at the four corners of the room. Two giant light waves smashed into the villains and into the wall. The waves then exploded into particles, lighting up the room. The room wasn't very large. I motioned with my hands, binding the four unconscious villains together.

I recalled the remaining few light particles left and condensed them into a light wave. I hurled it at the door, blowing open the rubble blocking the exit. The battle sapped a lot of the light energy I had stored in my body. Hopefully, I could get into contact with a light source soon. Climbing out of the mess, I found myself outside an empty store in an abandoned mall. Where am I?

I made my way over to a ray of light that came from a crack in the ceiling. My eyes glowed white. My vision switched to outside the mall. This is the far end of the USJ building. I got teleported far away. I switched again to where I saw signs of battle. The class was split up and teleported all over USJ. There's no way to gather everyone together. What about Mr. Aizawa? I swapped my vision again.

I inhaled sharply. Turning off my scouting vision, I run as fast as I could out the mall and climbed on top of a nearby building's roof. I looked at Mr. Aizawa's direction. I've used too much of my energy, and I'm so far away. There's no way I'm going to make it in time. What do I do?

A sickening crack rang out from the battlefield. A cry of pain followed. A huge, black bird-like figure pinned Aizawa down on the floor. Aizawa's arms were bent at inhuman angles. The massive hand holding onto Aizawa's head smashed his face down into the ground. Blood smeared the ground.

Dammit! I can't wait anymore! I have to do it. There's no other choice! My hands clenched together.

I may come to regret this decision in the future, but there's no heading back. Mr. Aizawa, I'm going to trust the words you said. You said that you wouldn't judge me for who I was in the past. So, please don't betray me.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. A cocoon of darkness enveloped me.

Mr. Aizawa, when I was in a dark place, it was you who saved me, so, this time, let me be your hero.

In the midst of a sea of light, there was a sphere of darkness. It was wrapped in chains, but the thing inside was alive. It pulsed to a steady beat like a heart. A black creature writhed and turned in its binds.

A cracking sound broke the ethereal silence. A chain started to break. A crack ran across its length, spreading across the surface in a vein-like pattern. Reaching the end, the cracking stopped. A moment of silence, and the chain exploded into countless pieces.

Just as sudden as the first, the second chain followed. And then the third. One by one, the chains shattered. In an explosion of darkness, the black serpent was free. It raised its head to the sky and roared, declaring its freedom to the world. The darkness devoured everything, spreading from the serpent and onward the sea of light. It spread and spread until only darkness remained.

The black-haired, young man stepped out from the cocoon. He was dressed in black, and his gloved hand held a mask the color of night. He raised the mask and fixed it over the lower half of his face. His blood-red eyes twinkled in amusement as he flexed his fingers. A tendril of darkness snaked up his left arm.

"Such a familiar feeling. It's been quite a long time." A low, silvery voice rang out from behind the mask. He turned his head to the distance.

"I suppose it's my turn to play hero," he hummed.

The man disappeared in a flash of darkness.
