A warm welcome in the castle of the sisters

Mortis took some time on the throne. Then he summoned a servant and gave her the order to prepare the rooms of his women so that they could wash and rest. Although the battle had not lasted long, it had been a new experience for them, and they did not want to be left behind the adventurers and soldiers.

While the queen sat next to him and held his hand, Mortis was still concerned about his women and did not let them out of his sight. This impressed her, even if some jealousy crept in. She realized that there was more to a relationship than that. Mortis decided to take a short trip to the Sea of Souls to ask his soul piece about the progress of his information gathering. His soul piece, of course, immediately knew what to do and transmitted the needed information to Mortis. Mortis then left the sea of souls again, sending his thoughts to both the spirits on site and to Sarah and other spirits who specialized in stealth killing.

Mortis had the ranks searched again to find all the members of the League of Ideologues who wanted to spread their agenda and hatred. He identified the real suspect and realized that he was already in Franconia in the north to poison the next area with his false promises and blind ideology. When some followers of the covenant saw him, they recognized his face. Mortis used this realization to inform his servants so they could set out to eliminate this suspect.

With a sinister smile, Mortis sat on the throne as Elara entered the throne room with the other women, including Elysia. Confused and even angry, the women asked why the young count was sitting on the margrave's throne, where not even Elara dared to go. But the young hero sat there as if the throne belonged to him. Just as the women were about to react indignantly, they saw the queen holding his hands. Although her face seemed cool as usual, her cheeks and ears were flushed.

Still, Elysia and Elara didn't let that go. They went to Mortis, whispering angrily, trying to get an explanation. "I was here first. If anyone gets to hold his hand, it should be mine," Elysia whispered. Elara wanted to say something, but she couldn't really think of anything appropriate. Mortis just smiled kindly at the women, lifted them up and put them on his legs with a jerk. Then he said, "You are right. How dare I take a seat on your throne? Why don't we share this extraordinary piece?" At this, he grinned mischievously and watched the shocked faces turn fiery red as they sat on his legs.

The advisors of the Queen and the Marquess, as well as the women and servants, immediately fell silent and watched the spectacle with wide eyes. At least they expected a spectacle, but from Elysia came only a shy giggle, and the Margravine turned her head away, blushing like a tomato. The queen finally broke the silence with a loud laugh, holding her hands in front of her face, barely able to control herself. She couldn't help but see the two brawlers suddenly go mum and act tame.

At first, some others laughed so as not to leave the queen alone. But after a few seconds, the entire throne room laughed, and the crowd cheered and clapped. Lillia could hardly believe it when she saw the two girls fighting over every little thing. Even if it was just over the lightness or darkness of something, it was amazing to see them so calm and embarrassed. This change gave Lillia hope and almost moved her to tears. Rose, standing next to her, hugged Lillia and whispered softly, "See, I told you that one day she would find a man who could handle her." Lillia nodded in agreement.

Suddenly, screams were heard outside the castle as more and more corpses were discovered lining the castle grounds all the way to the servants' entrances. Panic broke out, and the soldiers and nobles set out to find the culprits. But Mortis grinned to himself and watched the panic spread without even a hint of what was going on.

After Mortis had had his fun, he stood up along with Elara and Elysia. Then he reached out his hand to the queen and said, "Come along, you three. Let's get some rest, and we still have a lot to talk about. After all, we have a lot of things coming up, but the most important thing is our family. I'm sure they are waiting to receive you in peace."

After the queen, Elara, Elysia and Mortis left the throne room, they went to a secluded wing of Elara's castle. This part of the castle exuded a warm and inviting atmosphere, with large windows that overlooked the picturesque landscape and a large fireplace that radiated a cozy warmth.

The door to a spacious and tastefully furnished room opened, and the three new women entered. Comfortable armchairs and sofas were grouped in front of a crackling fireplace, looking inviting. The rooms were decorated with flowers and soft fragrances, and the atmosphere was filled with an aura of expectation.

Elara, Elysia and the Queen stood smiling in the doorway, curiously observing the reaction of the women, who were chatting amiably and laughing. Helga stepped forward and spoke in a soft voice, "Welcome, sisters. Come in. Here you are not only appreciated, but also respected and loved. If you would like to be a part of us, come closer so we can learn more about you."

Helga then walked forward and gave all three new women a gentle push into the room. Her friendly face radiated an angelic friendliness as she did so, but it immediately faded as she stood next to Mortis and looked at him. Her eyes indicated that there was still a need for conversation. Mortis smiled mischievously, cleared his throat slightly and gave Helga a kiss on the forehead. Then he took her in his arms and sat down with her on the sofa. He quietly observed the getting-to-know-you phase while adjusting his statistics and monitoring what his servants were doing. At the same time, he heard their powers growing stronger. He wondered what Casanova and Leroy were doing, but apparently they were still training in forests.

As the getting-to-know-you got quieter and the conversations gradually became more normal, Mortis also listened more attentively. He was no longer just absent-mindedly present, but truly present. The new women shared their stories and experiences as Mortis absorbed their words and the connection with each other grew stronger. Their time together would help them feel part of a trusting and supportive community.
