Goblin battle........i

As he ran, Zuchy could hear the sound of a waterfall,he ran towards the sound in a zigzag and unpredictable manner as he does the arrows shot at him.

As he was running, Zuchy realized that the ugly goblins were not that fast, even with his injured leg,he still managed to maintain quiet a good distance between them,the only difficulty was evading the arrows shot by the two ugly goblin archers.

Seeing that the distance between them was at least a hundred meters, Zuchy dove behind a huge tree,he quickly tore the left sleeve of his now torn out cotton t-shirt and gritting his teeth,he broke the arrow before bandaging himself up.

He knew well that he stood a high chance of being infected but currently,he wasn't in a position where he could clean and treat the wound properly.

Peaking from behind the tree,he saw that the ugly goblins had managed to bridge the gap between them. He massaged his leg muscles for a couple of seconds before jogging on,his speed increased as the goblins were about twenty meters from him.

As he ran,he moderated his breathing as he didn't want to tire himself out before the big fight.

Ten minutes of constant running brought him into a clearing with numerous boulders,most were the size of small huts. At the furthest end of the clearing was a small hill where the waterfall was located.

Zuchy dashed behind one of the nearest boulders. He took in quick breaths before calming down.

"If this world functions like a game,then the system must have given me a beginner's weapon...?"

Zuchy thought to himself as he called out for his status,he started doubting wether it would work,when a transparent screen suddenly appeared in front of his eyes....

Zuchy gasped as his status points were equivalent to a level five player in those VRMMORPG he used to play back on earth.

"An iron sword..."

Zuchy sighed as from vast experience playing VRMMORPG,iron was associated with the lowest grade of weapons and equipment.

He wanted to inspect the sword but nothing came up,no matter how much focus he put into it.

"So I need to find myself an inspection skill..." he sighed once more.

"This is going to be hard."

Loud war cries pulled him out of his thoughts,the squad of ugly goblins had already reached the clearing. He summoned his sword and waited for them to come crosser to his hiding spot so he could sneak attack them.

He knew well that an all out direct battle would only end with his death,and having experienced death once,he didn't want to experience it for a second time.

The squad of ugly goblins moved in a tactical way, from the early chase,the archers led the chase as they had advantage over the resting agility and long range weapons,but after reaching the clearing,they retreated to the back of the squad.

Four goblins with wooden shields moved to the front as the other five were at the middle,the shield bearers had long wooden poles that were sharpened at one end,the middle five had swords each while the archers had a curved wooden bow and a quiver made of some beast hide filled with simple wooden arrows.

Zuchy was amazed by their level of intelligence and advancement. From all the games he played, goblins were among the unintelligent humanoid monsters.

He had a feeling that this battle won't be easy at all.

As the group approached, Zuchy held his breath as he slightly bent his knees. The shield bearing ugly goblins moved past the boulder he was hidden, before they could notice him,he had already sprang out and manoeuvred between the gaps formed by the surprised sword bearing ugly goblins.

Zuchy may not have had any skills but his experience from his previous life playing VRMMORPG was more than enough for this fight.

He had chosen to replicate those skills in this fight.

Before the archers could react, Zuchy swung out his sword towards the nearest archer before partially retrieving it and applied all his strength,he sliced down.

Two numbers appeared on top of the archers head. Zuchy smiled as he saw them,he quickly dashed past the archer as he stabbed his sword backward catching the archer off guard. The stab connected with the back of the archers head.

A massive damage number appeared as the archer fell to his death.

Zuchy didn't have time to celebrate as an arrow came flying his way,he was about to doge it when a wooden spear shot at him.

Zuchy knew the wooden spear was lethal and so he choose to parry it and slightly turned his body as to prevent the arrow from lodging itself in his shoulder.

His parry was successful but the arrow did graze him and a one digit red number appeared on his head.

He knew he had to avoid being hit but how could he when when four swords stabbed at him from the four cardinal points,he quickly bent his knees as to increase his center of gravity and to accumulate all his strength in his legs before shooting upwards.

Thanks to the ugly goblins short height,his one and a half metre jump was all he luckily needed to evade the swords.

The four ugly goblins were not that lucky as they were all slow at retrieving their attacks thus they ended piercing each other. As he fell, Zuchy bent and held his sword downward with both arms.

The sword pierced one of the goblins, instantly killing him.

The shield bearing ugly goblins threw their spears as Zuchy landed,he was quick to parry two of them but the third one pierced his thigh as a massive red number appeared on top of his head.

The e pain almost made him loose concious,he knew that pulling out the spear would mean death,so he opted for a quick retreat. He held on to the potion of the spear closet to his thigh before using his sword to cut the protruding part.

He fought back the pain and dizziness as he tore the remaining sleeve quickly bandaging the wound as an arrow closely missed him.

Zuchy could see that his health was almost halfway. He utilized his high agility stats and dashed into the forest. From the previous battle, it had dawned on him that these were not his normal game goblins but rather a trained and experienced squad.

The way they were quick at grabbing opportunities amazed him. He only had his gaming experience and his karate and tae-kown-do shifu to thank,for his survival.
