Outside in the field of chaos the previously magnificent lord Gradyl had already suffered from his first bolt of lightning. His previously flawless chalk white skin was charred to the point of unrecognizability, and littered with gashes that oozed golden tinted blood.
His plan had been an utter failure. Kei'eshi was too strong. Even facing a mere fragment of her power, he had been unable to take a single strike from her.
The elements converged above in the lightless sky which was suddenly illuminated by the deep scarlet bolt that descended to devour its prey. Lord Gradyl's tortured scream echoed throughout the entire realm.
His charred figure that had bled profusely into its own blood pool was already completely unrecognizable. Yet his life had not left him.
Trademark of void Fey's remarkable lifeforce.
Kei'eshi did not forgive that.
The sky hummed with energy once more, it had been successfully angered. The pressure it exerted on the defeated figure below almost doubled.
A brilliant crimson light grazed the world once more as the vermillion lightning begun its decent. This time intertwining twin bolts were born from Kei'eshi's fury.
Faced with the unforgiving power of this destructive force Lord Gradyl managed a short laugh. 'A worthy death'. He thought as the incensed bolt of lightning descended in all it might. He braced himself for death as he felt the approaching electricity arc towards him.
But the sensation of endless pain never arrived. He turned his shocked gaze towards the heavens only to find a figure interjected between him and the voracious lightning.
One he had previously never taken a second look at.
Adam stood before him bathed in the same crimson light that threatened his life not too long ago.
"Pretty precarious situation you have yourself in." He said as he placed a palm on his shoulder. Injecting as much primordial energy as he could into his body.
After completing his refinement, he realized he could increase the rate of his recovery by absorbing primordial energy.
This time he tried using himself as a conduit to impart it to others. It worked to a better degree of success than he anticipated.
However as the primordial energy swept through Lord Gradyl's body he was shocked by the severity of his injuries. He could only seal a reserve of primordial energy in his body to passively aid his recovery.
"Where is everyone else?" as Adam spoke eight different bolts of lightning struck his figure simultaneously. Yet he showed no reaction.
Kei'eshi was becoming impatient.
Even injured gravely, a Shura lord was a Shura lord. He quickly recovered his bearing as he gazed at his apparent savior in disbelief.
"What are you?." He questioned in seven parts shock and three parts fear.
"Lucky." Adam replied expressionlessly.
"You planned to attract the bulk of her being through provocation right. Not a bad plan."With the end of his sentence more than a dozen crimson bolts of lightning enveloped his figure in fury, yet no change registered itself in his expression.
He continued. "But she hasn't broken through yet, not fully, whatever seal you plan to bind her with would have in all likelihood failed. I need you to gather everyone who can fight and ready yourselves for when she overcomes all of her wards. I will accept the entirety of her rage."
The Head gazed at this strange mortal. The air around him betrayed the fact that he was much weaker than he was. Yet he was unable to comprehend the deep serenity of his expression and the unfathomable glow of his eyes.
"Adam, son of Caine was it. I must warn you. For whatever reason Kei'eshi cannot harm you what we face is a mere fragment of her power. The entirety of her being is enough to consign the nine words to oblivion. Whatever the case, you will not survive this."
All the mysterious youth had to offer him was an incomprehensible smile. With a sigh the head stretched out his broke arm and space around dozens of meters fractured into chaos. From the chaos several robust figures formed.
Seven of them stood at a height of several feet, Jet black horns protruded from their foreheads and broad lightless wings folded neatly behind their backs. One of them possessed an exceptionally slender and slender and willowy figure.
She was the princess of the dark fey, Lady Theia, unfortunately her noble elegant façade had long since crumbled. The tear stains that snaked down her chin betrayed the fact that she had shed far too many tears already.
When she locked eyes with the dreamy figure bathed in crimson light her gaze froze. She could tell he had awoken as himself. The takeover she feared had not occurred.
And as her eyes trailed the contours of his marble face she found herself as entranced with him ever. Even before her consciousness registered her actions she had already made several steps towards him. An aged fey placed his arm in front of her in restraint.
"Haha great elder is right, I really am far too dangerous to hug right now". Adam said with a laugh.
As if to accentuate his statement several dozen deep scarlet lines streaked across the sky to collide brashly with his figure.
"What-"The elders all exclaimed with disbelieving expressions when confronted with the sight before them. Kei'eshi rended the soul into fragments as it did the body.
That was part of the reason why it was so feared, but that was also why it was so ineffective to Adam, for his soul projected outward in an entire realm.
Until Kei'eshi truly recovered its world destroying might all the lightning bolts would dissipate harmlessly into his soul realm.
The Head of the house of Gradyl then revealed the plan to seal this monstrous force with Adam at its center.
Several of the elders revealed expressions of immense shock at the Head's decision to trust a nameless mortal with his realm. "He might have some superficial resistance due to unknown reasons but he is just a mortal, have you lot become so desperate to trust your fates to him". Ken sneered.
Several of the elders echoed his doubts and began to speak against the plan. The air hummed with power the likes of which had never been seen in the realms of mortals or gods.
"She is free." The great elder lamented. A bolt of lightning streaked through the sky, unlike any other before it. It had donned a scarlet color so deep t was nearly black. It raced downwards towards the cluster of figures, striking at their nexus in a deafening boom that threw them all into chaos.
When the dust cleared all the figures arose. They were littered with superficial injuries, but were mostly unharmed.
Their attention completely radiated toward the figure that had bore the brunt on the attack. Adam had fallen to one knee as he took in rough gasps.
With Kei'eshi's awakening rose a power he couldn't fathom .In the split second he was struck he felt her energy rioting through every acre of his previously invincible soul realm.
The pain that rose form the damage to his soul far surpassed the limitations of physical pain. "What are you lot waiting for!". The head screamed in agitation as he directed his arms at adams convulsing figure. They glowed with a sacred glowing light.
The elders repeated his actions with furious expressions, a blinding golden light rising from their bodies as well. As for the Theia she stared unblinkingly at the one she had the saved from the jaws of a beast.
In a but a few days he had already become the saviour of her home.
"Adam." She whispered with misty eyes.
The heavens released another flash of torrential crimson light. However this time more than a dozen crimson bolts arced towards him.
"AAAAAargh". Adan released a painfuyell. A pain greater than anyone else had ever face rippled through his core. The pain of his soul being torn apart.
A golden hue suffused into the surroundings. The sealing had began. Arcs of lightning rioted aggressively up in the heavens.
This time their rumble brooked the sound of grudging respect.
The world was bathed in a scarlet grow once more. This time more than hundred arcs of lightning mercilessly rained down on a single figure. A guttural yell of agony followed.
Deep within the crimson light shrouded his figure devilish vermillion markings streamed across his skin. The marks of a curse.
Just as Adams body and soul teetered on the brink of collapse, his pupils glowed with a defiant crimson.
[ROOOOOAARR].An endlessly long holographic great scarlet dragon rose up from the cluster of crimson light in challenge. Its wings spread out endlessly across the lightless the sky as it roared.
"What is that?" The great elder said in fear. Even a great distance away his mind almost collapsed from fright. His very soul quivered in fear.
"He tamed it." Theia ascertained in shock. No wonder he had survived with his sense of self. He had tamed the divine soul of the dragon god.
The cluster of scarlet lightning finally dispersed to reveal a lonely figure. The dragon gods soul resisted Kei'eshi's soul shattering might with him.
Still though he was in mortal danger. Kei'eshi could still supply far more power than he could handle, and now he had successfully enraged her.
It would stop a t nothing to destroy him. Yet he still rose to his feet in challenge. As if echoing his thoughts the dragon gods silhouette roared out in defiance.
The earth quaked and the wind hummed. For a moment gravity moved. A dense cluster of power collected in the sky which now radiated a deep scarlet light.
Scarlet arcs of lightning formed but didn't descend but collected into a dense shape. In the blink of an eye he stared at a giant 1000 kilometer long scarlet lightning sword.
He felt it, it contained her complete power, her complete sentience. '
Come' he thought. He spoke the last words he would ever utter. "My lord, my elders please get ready to seal her in her entirety. My lady I'm sorry I couldn't do anything to protect your home. Yet when the pain of several lifetimes engulfed me I considered running away. I'm disgusted to think my determination was that weak.
You saved me and gave me a new chance at life and yet I haven't done anything at all for you. I couldn't even protect my seniors. So for the first and also the last time, let me show you my determination, because as the voice that pulled me out of oblivion that day, there couldn't ever be any presence I could crave more, any one I could love more."
His soft chuckle devolved into a yell, one that superimposed with the dragon' roar. The lightning sword descended.Bringing with it the wrath of the sky.
Even within the voracious sea of lightning a human yell superimposed with a dragon's remained vibrant an unhindered.
"NOW" Lord Gradyl yelled. His form rippled with golden light, transforming him into a miniature sun. the elders followed suit, channeling the same majestic hue. After reaching its acme it rose into the sky as a giant pillar. The winds billowed as the element rioted in anger. The golden light blanketed the lightless sky. Soon the menacing presence that enveloped the realm receded, and with it the accursed scarlet light. The storm had finally passed.
Several battered figures arose to greet the postapocalypticscene. "To think this would have occurred during my reign. "Lord Gradyl sighed sadly.
"Only the capital was destroyed I sense that only about a hundred thousand Fey perished from millions.
Yes we have been dealt a great hand but we can always rebuild. For now we must scour the land for survivors and honor the sacrifices that allow us to breathe."
The great elder in encouraged. As someone who had seen the rise and fall of the realm he had witnesses calamities on par with if not worse than this.
Of course, his voice trailed downwards towards the end of his declaration for the Lady sake.Immediately he registered the fact that she wasn't present at the current scenery.
"Where is my daughter?". Lord Gradyl questioned agitatedly, sharing the grand elders thoughts. His gaze was drown the largest region of destruction. Where the great lightning sword had descended. He then unfurled his wings and launched himself into the billowing ash. His prayers were answered as her exquisite 9-foot-tall figure appeared through the smoke.
In her arms she held a figure far more miniscule by comparison. One that bled profusely through charred skin, yet still clung his last smidgen of life.
A florescent green wave of energy constantly radiated out of her body into his. "Elders attend me."
For the very first time the elders seemed able to read the heads thought. They surrounded the pair in a semicircle as a brilliant golden force poured out of their bodies into the ailing figure.
The fey were an evolution of the most powerful nature gods. Their ability to heal and give vitality would always be second to none. But Adams figure still lay passively within Theia's arms, his life or death still uncertain.
