Hearing her response, Liu Guanyi turned around, smiling. "Then, what do you think of the Workshop, princess Adori?"
"The workshop?" Adori pondered for a moment.
"I don't really know about it. What I know is that it has an extremely old history, even way before the emergence of the ten great families and the Zahard Empire. Not only that, it has a great reputation and influence as even the Zahard Empire and the ten great families respected their authority."
"Their focus and purpose are to do research about just anything they find interesting in the tower. However, they often hold big events, the Workshop battle we just have participated in a few days is one of them."
Liu Guanyi nodded. "I guess you are well informed." But then, he smirked. "However, if that's the full extent of what you know about them, you should pay more attention and observe, princess."
Hearing his remark, Adori raised her eyebrows but made no efforts to refute him.
"You know that the reputation of the Zahard family, and especially the ten great families aren't anything close to being good, right?" Liu Guanyi asked as Adori nodded in response.
"Then, try to compare their reputation to the Workshop's and add everything that you know about it, now, what do you think?"
Adori thought deeply for a while before she gave her answer. "The Workshop has a much better reputation than the Zahard Empire and the ten great families. After all, the members of the ten great families have committed so many crimes in thousands of years while the Workshop has done so many public services."
"This makes the Workshop much more liked among the tower's residents compared to the ten great families. Furthermore, it's also a powerful and influential force with a very old history in the tower."
"If the Workshop really want it, they can exploit the people's hatred toward the ten great families and their good faith in it to their favor, making the Workshop even more powerful or even creating huge unrest in their rule. That's what you would say, isn't it?" Said Adori with a smile.
Liu Guanyi smiled. "Well, you are correct, princess."
"With that being said, we don't really know whether the Workshop would have planned something using their good reputation or shake the current rule, but at least we understand that it's not a simple organization with the purpose of simply conducting research out of curiosity just like what they want to portray themselves so."
"Instead, they are a far more complex organization. This can be seen from their long history, they have existed even long before the Zahard empire and the ten great families. So, it's safe to say that they were already powerful back then." Adori nodded at his deduction.
"What I wonder is, if that was the case, why the Workshop had let them establish their reign? Was it because king Zahard and the ten family leaders took the contract of immortality from the guardians, and they decided to let them since they were invincible?" Said Liu Guanyi as he explained his deduction.
Adori couldn't hide her surprise hearing his deduction.
To find out those clues and come to these conclusions might not look that hard, however, it was actually way harder than it seems as even she had never thought about it that far.
It was because she never thought much about them.
Because the Zahard Empire and the ten great families had always been around since ages ago anyway, who truly cared about how and why did they build their empire and noble families?
Wasn't the important thing being that they were the rulers of the tower who created the civilization and their glory and power had to be respected?
To find this out, Liu Guanyi had to look deeper beyond what looked like important issues but were actually merely superficial details.
He had to look from above, like a spectator watching two players playing chess. He could clearly see the reasoning between the decisions and movements of the two players.
Just like the majority of the tower's native residents, even as an exceptional character, Adori failed to see beyond those superficial details.
However, it was different for Liu Guanyi. He had come from another world, and was a man with vast experience, he could see that there was something deeper at play.
Sometimes, it wasn't the matter of eyes but the matter of the mind.
"Looks like I have still a lot to learn from you." Adori let out a heartfelt sigh of admiration.
"Don't worry princess, I know that you will learn everything very quickly." Liu Guanyi jokingly reassured her with a smile.
Adori calmed herself and asked another question. "Are you saying that the Workshop has some suspicious motives and uncertain relations with Zahard Empire and the ten great families?"
Liu Guanyi nodded lightly. "I am, but it's not just merely baseless assumptions."
"From what I have looked on the internet for a few days after the Workshop battle, I've found some information that proves them as a fact. That's also why I decided to join the Workshop battle in the first place, it's mainly to see observe them, not to get the rewards."
"Since, I have been suspicious about them, revealing my ability is also dangerous, but it doesn't apply for you since you have Zahard family as your backer."
"That's why I told you to handle the Workshop battle. Isn't there a certain place where we, regulars, can visit to see their connection in person?" Liu Guanyi spoke questioningly."
'A place where regulars can visit, to see the history of the Workshop and the ten great families?' Adori pondered over his words. Suddenly, a name of a certain place crossed her mind.
"Are you talking about that "place"!?" Adori couldn't help blurted out loud.
"As expected, you quickly understood it, princess." Liu Guanyi nodded lightly with a smile.
"Yes, we are going to visit that place. Even though it will be much more troublesome than taking the usual route, the opportunity to find out the secret of their connection makes it worth the trouble. Moreover, it's faster and more challenging, isn't it?"
"I guess you are right, I hope there will be many worthy enemies to sharpen my sword." Adori said as she glanced at the sword tied on her waist.
Liu Guanyi spoke solemnly. "Then it's decided… the Hell Train is our next stop."
