Adori was walking casually with the lighthouse lighting the way and the regulars at her command.
The plan was fruitful at the beginning, she had the scouts spread to search any trails of the stone carps and they had met a group of them and successfully captured them due to the intel they gave.
However, something happened to them shortly after and the light-bearers couldn't contact them. To alleviate the problem, Adori decided to send the captured stone carps back and separate the groups into four groups. The same number with the light-bearers in group B.
In all honesty, she didn't care about the test. Adori didn't need the points, after all as she was guaranteed to pass from the result of the previous tests so she would simply enjoy it, though it was not challenging and interesting at all, or… not. At least she had found an interesting person on this floor.
Suddenly, she felt something was coming toward her group and halted her steps.
The regulars, seeing that the princess stopped in her tracks, followed suit and one of them politely asked. "What's happening, your highness?"
Adori didn't respond and continued to stare forward.
Finally, a figure could be seen moving from the darkness into the lighted area of the lighthouse casually without any aggressive motion. He had a handsome face and was donned in black clothes.
"Finally, we meet in the test, Princess Adori." Liu Guanyi spoke calmly.
Adori simply stared at his face making no further response. However, her teammates didn't respond the same and attacked him.
A blast of shinsu came toward him as a lighthouse quickly flew and deployed its wall to hinder his mobility.
Liu Guanyi leaped back to dodge them and saw that the blast managed to pierce the ground quite nicely. He turned to see the one who did it and saw him, a simple regular with no special looks other than a translucent ball floating in his hand.
'So, that's a wave controller, and it was an offensive shinsu control he used to attack? They said it is weak for new regulars but looking at it, the damage is decent. The potential of Shinsu is truly amazing.' Thought Liu Guanyi.
His train of thoughts was forced to stop as they were about to attack him once again. However, Adori quickly made a gesture to stop them and approached him, seeing that he made no retaliation.
"Liu, why are you here?" She asked casually as if they weren't from the opposing group at all.
"You know well that this test does not matter to us, right?" Liu Guanyi calmly asked.
Seeing that she had an expressionless face, he continued.
"So, rather than doing this meaningless test what about we have a contest instead? The winner can make a single free request to the loser. Of course, the request must be within a reasonable capacity of the loser." Explained Liu Guanyi.
Hearing this, her brows scrunched up a little as her interest was piqued.
"You are very powerful in a direct battle, I understand this very well since we trained together. However, a battle is not always carried out directly. That's why, to see our skill in an indirect battle, let's find out who can catch the knife shark first. So, are you in?" Said Liu Guanyi with a smile.
"That's ok, let's have a contest." She nodded with her expressionless face.
Seeing this, Liu Guanyi thought about their encounters in the last two months.
Adori was indeed like this. She rarely showed any expression on her face and she reacted indifferently to most things. She also always liked to keep her thoughts to herself.
However, this didn't mean that she wouldn't be interested if she didn't express her feeling it on her face.
Just like when Adori shook his hand, treated him some food, and ate together with him. She didn't show it outwardly but she certainly enjoyed them or at least had some interest in them.
If not, why she had taken the initiative to train together with him?
"The rules are simple, we must rely on our own without the use of observer, lighthouse, or any other devices to help us. I have a piece of information that some of them are heading to the southwest."
"Let's start now!" He ended his talk and turned back running toward the southwest.
Adori didn't care anymore about her teammates as she didn't even look or say something to them and simply quickly followed Liu Guanyi, instantly ditching her teammates.
"Wait, your highness! Hunting the stone carp should be a priority!" One of the regulars tried to reason with her.
However, it was clear to them that they had been abandoned and without her, the group would become a hollow shell as there wasn't anyone strong or capable enough to hold them together.
Suddenly, one of the fishermen struck his fellow fisherman on the nape, knocking him down.
"The hell what you're doing, Alex!?"
The one called Alex glanced back at the speaker and said coldly. "Are you stupid? This test isn't meant for us to work together from the beginning. If I didn't knock him out, how could I pass the test?!"
"Alex is correct, you are only holding up the team because you are already safe to pass the test!" One of the regulars took Alex's side and helped him in the fight.
Chaos instantly broke out among the group just a few seconds after the disappearance of the princess.
Those who didn't want to stop their desires to climb the tower ganging up to those who were likely to pass the test, and then ended up fighting among themselves afterward.
. . . . . .
As the chaos spread among both groups, in the starting zone of group A, Xin was also fighting against some of his fellow teammates.
"Damn, we need to beat him, guys, if we want to pass the test!"
"He is nimble and very tough! He is a member of the ten great families!"
"Let's take him down first before we settle our own problems!"
A muscular regular stood at the front blocking Xin as he was supported by a lighthouse. However, he quickly swerved past him with his nimble footwork and moved toward the light-bearer.
Some of them reacted quickly to block his advance, yet the Tu Perie member used his superior strength and easily pushed them away with his small body.
Without any obstructions from the other regulars, Xin delivered a fatal kick on the light-bearer's ribs, cracking them as he was flung away.
'Good, the most annoying one is dealt with. The rest shouldn't be any problems thanks to Mr. Liu's intensive training. Hopefully, he won't face any troubles on his side.'
Xin didn't know why Liu Guanyi wanted to know about the knife shark as they wouldn't mean anything in the test other than being a competitor in hunting the carps.
But after training, eating, and getting to know him for two months, Xin knew that he was different from many others, not by a small, but by a big difference and certainly in a good way.
'It's alright, Mr. Liu is way stronger than me. So, let's focus on my own tasks.' Xin finished his thoughts and focused back on his fellow regulars.
