Chapter 190- The Age of Coexistence

The guerilla warfare tactic combined with the passivity of the Zahard Empire and the ten great families' leaders, and the vastness of the tower were working against them pretty effectively.

It was so effective that despite all the odds, FUG and its associates could sustain and continue the war for hundreds or even thousands of years.

Along the war, many had joined them as they saw and realized that Zahard Empire and the ten great families weren't invincible and thought that they really had the opportunity to overthrow them.

Unfortunately, the reality was often different than what people often hoped for.

Although the Zahard Empire and the ten great families were losing at the beginning, they had been slowly but surely adapting to the guerilla warfare FUG used against them.

To counteract this troublesome tactic, there was a simple but hard option to do, decrease their territories so they could gather their troops and bolster their defense at the important defense points.

After trying a lot of alternative solutions that ended up not working, finally, they resolutely decided to fully abandon the territories in the outer areas that were under their control to tighten their army formation and manpower as they now had fewer territories they had to defend.

With more manpower and resources at hand, they quickly built more flying castles and ships in their areas in the middle and inner area of the tower. Once they accomplished that, FUG and their associates found that attacking them with a smaller number and mobile army was becoming many times harder than before.

If they want to even take one of their defense strongholds in the middle area, they had to amass more army. But if they tried to amass more army and mobilize it, the movement would become much easier to detect and anticipate which would make their guerilla warfare tactic obsolete.

And what would happen if that happened? FUG's army would be easily decimated by the much superior and well-armed Zahard's and the ten great families' army.

Even if they managed to do a surprise attack on a stronghold in the middle area, if it took too long to capture it than what they had planned, they could just send in reinforcement through a portal gate.

And even if they managed to capture it, FUG and company wouldn't be able to hold it for long anyway as the middle area was already firm within their grasp and they had much more resources and the army they could throw to wipe them and retake the stronghold, meaning, that taking the stronghold wasn't feasible.

No matter what they tried to do, they would find themselves hitting against the wall.

Because of this, fewer and fewer attacks were attempted by FUG as they found themselves stuck in place, unable to resolve the tactics of Zahard's and the ten great families' of turtling themselves in their defense castles.

Since there were fewer and fewer attacks attempts from FUG, the Zahard army changed their tactic as they began to focus less on defense to focus more on attacks as they send out a powerful army at a time on a certain outer area of a floor to root out the influence of FUG on that area.

They kill FUG sympathizers or honestly, anyone who was affiliated with FUG or its allies with no exception be it children who didn't know anything, elderly who didn't even participate in the war, and even newborn babies who still drank milk from their mothers.

They didn't give a fuck at all.

Just like what the king ordered them to do, they were here not to play fair in the war. They were to root out and clean anything that was dirtied by FUG at any cost and with any methods, not excluding mass genocide.

Even if FUG and their allies wanted to resist and destroy the Zahard army, they wouldn't be able to do so.

They were a massive armada of floating ships that were armed to the teeth and with powerful warriors on board. They didn't spare anything and sent out many High Rankers to oversee the FUG eradication army to make sure it would run smoothly.

At one time, FUG and their allies had anticipated their movement and set up an ambush at a predetermined place.

While Luslec didn't join the ambush, almost all of the powerful figures from FUG joined in the ambush alongside their main army, a terrifying force that would be able to destroy the FUG eradication army quickly.

The ambush was indeed pulled off successfully as the Zahard army found themselves surrounded by countless FUG warriors from every direction and were quickly overwhelmed.

The members of FUG were almost brimming with happiness as they would finally manage to win a battle against the Zahard army after countless losses in thousands of years.

However, just when they were about to rejoice, their hopes were suddenly crushed ruthlessly.

Many of the Zahard army's major floating ships suddenly shinned brightly in the battlefield. Seeing this their hearts suddenly turned cold. The warp gates inside the ships!

To activate a warp gate, one needed to charge it up for a long time before it could function. This meant since the Zahard army could operate their ships' warp gates very rapidly, they must already have anticipated the ambush and prepared their warp gates a long time ago!

Luslec and FUG had completely fallen into Zahard's trap!

The reinforcement quickly poured from the ships and joined the battlefield. Many Rankers, Shinheuh, High Rankers exchanged deadly blows, painting the blue sky in red.

With the reinforcement continuously pouring from the warp gates, the Zahard army's pressure was relieved as they slowly gained momentum. Soon, the tables were turned as the FUG's side became outnumbered by two to one.

Their warriors died one by one and their ranks and formation were crumbling.

The casualties FUG had on this single battle numbered very high as only a few could safely escape from the battlefield and afterward, their morale turned into an all-time low.

It seemed that they had no hope left.

This war, they had lost it decisively as well.

And thus, signaling the closing of the Age of Genesis and opening the beginning of the current Era…

The Age of Coexistence.
